Something Was Not Good- What Was It? Lesson Part 1

Something Was Not Good- What Was It?
Lesson Part 1

        We've been talking about creation and the fall into sin of mankind.  I believe it's important for us to learn a little about Adam and Eve before we go into another biblical true story.  One wonderful thing about our loving God is that He loves us and He cares about how we feel.  I think Adam became very needful of a helper and friend.  He saw all the animals that God had made, every living thing had a mate, but  Adam didn't have one.  God said for the first time, after saying His creation was good, that something was not good.  He said, that it wasn't good for man to be alone.  Adam talked to God all the time, so maybe He asked why He didn't have a mate?
     God put Adam into a deep sleep and God removed one of his ribs.  Then closed up his flesh and took the rib and formed Eve and brought her to meet Adam.  Adam said something about Eve when He met her.   Adam said, "This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man." Genesis 2:23
    Adam and Eve were the very first creations made in the image of God.  Though all creation was beautiful and spectacular, they were not like the creation of people.
Genesis1:26
And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
 Genesis 1:27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
   Everything was perfect in the garden that God had made them.  No sin had ever been committed, no argument ever happened, only peace and tranquility abounded.  No animal or person had died or grew old during this time in biblical history.
   There was only one rule that God had given for them to obey.  They were allowed to eat of every tree of the garden but they could not eat of one tree,  the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.  God warned them that if they did they would surely die.  Adam had a responsibility to tell his wife about this rule.  I'm sure He took her on long walks and talked about how he named all the animals and how God created the world.  Adam was a spiritual teacher to his wife.  He told her about the rule God had given Him.  She being part of Him was to obey that rule also.
   Adam and Eve were the first examples of Man and Wife and it is through them we learn the way God wants us to think of marriage today.  Adam and Eve did not have parents, God parented them and gave them a warning, do not eat of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.  He warned them that if they did that there would be serious consequences.
   While Eve was out enjoying her day.  She was nearby the forbidden tree and she noticed a serpent. The serpent talked to her and caught her attention.   The devil had disguised himself as a serpent and tricked Eve into believing a lie.  He basically convinced her that God was not being honest and was being selfish.  Eve was told ahead of time not eat of the forbidden fruit but Eve was caused to doubt God.  She took a bite and when Adam came along she offered it to Him and He also ate of it.
   The devil has the power to disguise himself.  The bible teaches us that the devil disguises himself as an angel of light.  He may appear to be very good and even shine like an angel, but He is a deceiver and an enemy to God and all believers.  When someone teaches contrary to what the Bible teaches, He is a deceiver and is doing the work of Satan.
    My daughter, was only three years old when she had a very upsetting dream.   She woke startled and fearful.  I comforted her and rocked her and asked her what was wrong.  In her little child voice, she told me an angel was trying to bind her with chains.  I asked her what the angel looked like and she said it was like a normal angel.  I told her it wasn't a good angel if He was trying to put her in chains.  I told her it was just a dream, prayed with her and sang to calm her heart.
   In this way, her dream was true, that Satan does desire to trap us and deceive us.  Just as He did Adam and Eve.  It could be drugs, alcohol, rebellion, wrong priorities or false doctrine.  There are many things that Satan could use to hinder our walk with God.
     That day, Adam and Eve died spiritually to God and for the first time started to die physically.  Heartache started on the day they sinned because God was not happy with them and guilt filled their heart.
     Sin always brings heartache and trouble.

Adams sin brought sin upon all mankind and because of this, we are all born in our sins.  All people need a Saviour.  God gave his only begotten Son to pay for our sins upon a cruel cross of suffering.  He paid our sin debt.

We will all have a day to die and the question is "where will we go?"  Heaven or Hell.  God wants every person to be saved.  He's not willing that any should perish.   He leaves that decision up to you.  Don't believe the devil.  Jesus loves you and wants you to trust Him right now.

Father God, I come to you in the name of your Son Jesus Christ,  I ask if there is anyone here that has fallen into some temptation, or has been pulled away from you in any way, that you will speak to their hearts today.  I pray they will come back to you with a renewed heart.  I pray that you will heal their hurts.  I pray that you would deliver them from evil.  I pray that you will save the souls of those seeking forgiveness and salvation.  Open hearts to your truth today and break the binds of sin.   In the name of Christ and His shed blood, I pray this.  Amen

Lesson

Galatians
 1:8-9 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.
 As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.

I Wonder What Adam Had to Say

Genesis 2:7
And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.
Genesis 2:15
And the LORD God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it

I Wonder What Adam Had To Say

God made the seas  that sparkle in the light of a bright new morning,
 The reflecting sunset setting side a glowing moon at peace,
He made the stars to shine above in a dark wide sky, I wonder why.
He made the feeling of rest, just being blest in a silent pleasant breeze.

God made trees with fancy leaves, filled with fruit and nuts to taste;
And the thrill of  the rolling hills, that shine bright in clover red.
He made the sheep that graze an oasis of peaceful waters;
And the deer with her fawn upon a leafy forest bed.

I wonder what Adam had to say, when he woke up on that day;
To see for the first time the great creation, that God had made.
He was formed from the dust of the ground, woke up to sight and to sound;
I'm sure He was awed at the good works of God, on that great day.

God made the crickets to sing together on the summer nights,
The rooster to crow good-morning  with a how do you do. Cockeldoodledoooo
He made the birds with wings , they love to  fly and to sing all day.
He made forests  and streams, waters that fall and ev'ry day new.

He made the day and the night, He made everything right;
The lizard, the frog, the ox , the dog, and the kitten so small.
The rowdy chipmunk, the squirrel and the skunk, but it didn't stink;
The bird and the beasts, the great and the least,  God made them all

I wonder what Adam had to say, when he woke up on that day;
To see for the first time the great creation, that God had made.
He was formed from the dust of the ground, woke up to sight and to sound;
I'm sure He was awed at the good works of God, on that great day.

 He woke up to God, who gave him a face  in a perfect place.
 He woke up to a blue sky, cranes flying by, the grass at his feet;
Elephants, kangaroos, chimpanzees  and zebras too.
He walked in the garden by the trees, found lots of food to eat.

All the animals gathered around Him, he gave each one a name;
The bunny, the bat, the raccoon, the cat, and the tiger too.
 He could set back and rest and knew he was blest, in his new world;
In the garden that God had made him, He had plenty to do.

I wonder what Adam had to say, when he woke up on that day;
To see for the first time the great creation, that God had made.
He was formed from the dust of the ground, woke up to sight and to sound;
I'm sure He was awed at the good works of God, on that great day.

Our Bundle of Joy

Our Bundle Of Joy

When babies are born they cry at birth.  I always have heard that babies were spanked at birth because it cleared out the air passage to the lungs.  Babies cry normally for food or any discomfort, but laughter is something that comes later, at least it did with Anna.  Anna is my 5 1/2-month-old granddaughter.

Anna started laughing in her sleep around 3 1/2  months old.  My daughter told me she could hear her laugh in the middle of the night in her sleep.  This happened a few times until the day I was in the middle of changing her clothes.  I was taking her little shirt off and my fingers were under her arm while I was trying to take her arm out of her sleeve.  She started laughing and even surprised herself.  I had discovered Anna is ticklish under the arms and also under her chin.  The day that Anna learned to smile and laugh has brought laughter and smiles to every gathering of our church and family since.  When Anna smiles the whole room starts smiling.  When Anna was born she looked so grumpy,  and other people noticed she looked grumpy but she had not learned how to smile yet.   Just because she looked grumpy didn't mean she was.  It amazes me how a new baby can bring so much joy.  I'm sure that's why we call new babies a "bundle of joy".

Something Anna has learned, as young as she is, is to be gentle.  She's learned how to reach her hands to my face.  Anna has reached both hands to my face and looked into my eyes, cooing.  It was definitely a way to say " I love you."  Last night I was so surprised by her.  She had bit down too hard on her teething ring and I rocked her and I let her know I felt bad for her.  I comforted her and she settled down.  Afterward, she put her right hand to my cheek, looked into my eyes, and talked away in baby language.  I can hardly describe the feeling of joy I felt when my grandbaby started talking to me with love in her eyes.  The look in her eyes brought me joy.  She is so sweet and seems especially smart to be able to express herself that way already.  I just do not remember my grown children expressing themselves the same way when they were infants.

When a new baby comes along everybody starts acting like children, Even grandpa.  Everybody makes funny voices and sounds.  The whole family joins in bouncing the baby. smiling with the baby, talking like a baby, and helping with the baby.  I have always heard there's no feeling so wonderful than to be a grandparent and I believe that to be true.  There is no doubt about it, Anna has been and is a bundle of joy.
