The Lord Hath Spoken

The Lord Hath Spoken

Jeremiah 13:15

Hear ye, and give ear; be not proud: for the LORD hath spoken.

We can apply Jeremiah to our lives because God has spoken to us.  He has spoken to every person.  Some of you may think that is not true.  He has spoken to us through nature, He has spoken to us through scripture, He has spoken to us through others, He has spoken to us in our hearts.  Just because you do not hear him does not mean that he has not spoken to you. The question is are you listening.

I read a children’s devotion today about a fishing trip. A father had taken his son fishing, but they were sitting there a while so the young boy was being loud and goofing off.  His dad told him to be quiet because the fish could hear him. They moved to another fishing spot closer to the reeds by the shore.

He listened to his dad and sat patiently and was very quiet, after a while, the young boy felt a yank at his line, I caught one! he exclaimed, as he excitedly reeled in a pretty good-sized fish. "Good thing we were quiet." right Dad? "but dad, the fish doesn’t have ears. I was all worried about getting too loud and I didn’t have to be quiet, at all."  "Oh, but they do have ears son, they hear you but they listen differently".  He told him that fish have ears that they hear on the inside of them.

People have more than one way of hearing, we can hear what people say with our ears, and we can hear noises down the street with our ears. Some people can’t hear and use a hearing aid to hear.  When you hear are you really listening or understanding exactly what you hear?  The most important part of hearing is the hearing that happens on the inside of us.  When we listen to our hearts by paying attention to what God is saying to us.  God is speaking but are we really listening?

Hearing God speak to us through his Word and also to what he speaks to us in our hearts.  Some people ignore what God is saying. The most important hearing is being able to hear what your heart is saying, when you’re a child of God, God speaks to your heart.

You can look inside and hear if you have heart trouble, if you are looking inside your heart you would hear the anger or discouragement, and then you start listening to God and remembering what God has spoken to us through his Word. God speaks to us and we hear with internal ears.

Mark 4:23 If any man have ears to hear, let him hear.  God is talking about the internal hearing.

This kind of hearing is where you make a decision and you listen to what the Lord says in your heart and you follow him in your actions.  Through all the things that go on inside our being, God speaks to us and comforts us through every internal struggle.  We listen to him by reading His Word and also by listening to him in our hearts.  Talking to God through prayer helps us to hear God and he hears us.  God answers our prayers, we praise him and he speaks to our heart.  We could have a bad attitude, then God speaks to our heart, then we listen to that voice. The voice that is heard with internal ears. If we have ears to hear then there is repentance.

Our Father in Heaven is gentle.

He speaks with a still small voice.

He loves us unconditionally:

So, in Him, we can rejoice.

The love of God is so sweet and pure.

God has spoken will you hear?

He gave His precious Son for everyone.

With a message will you hear?
