Cohesive: Held
Together by Christ
“And he is before
all things, and by him all things consist.”
— Colossians 1:17 (KJV)
The word cohesive
means held together in unity, connected with purpose, forming something whole that
is stronger than its individual parts. In our spiritual walk, this is
exactly what Christ does within us. He takes the scattered pieces of our
thoughts, emotions, and experiences and binds them together with His truth.
Life has a way of
pulling us in many directions. Responsibilities tug at us. Worries try to
unravel us. Old wounds attempt to break us apart. But a heart anchored in
Christ does not fall into pieces — it becomes cohesive. Not because we are
strong, but because He holds all things together.
Think of a mosaic:
tiny fragments, each broken, each different, yet arranged by a master artist
into something breathtaking. That is what Christ does with us. He takes what
once felt disconnected — our past, our present, our hopes, our failures — and
forms a life that reflects His grace.
A cohesive Christian
life isn’t about perfection. It’s about alignment.
A mind aligned with Christ becomes a life shaped by Christ.
A heart filled with Christ becomes a spirit strengthened by Christ.
A walk led by Christ becomes a testimony that glorifies Christ.
Reflection
Lord, make my heart
cohesive. Bring unity to my thoughts, peace to my spirit, and purpose to my
steps. Hold me together when life tries to pull me apart, and let every part of
me reflect You.
