The Odd Ball

The Odd Ball

The rooster cock-a- doodle -doos ;
Good morning how are you?
The sun with warmth kisses the cheek;
From  sky of morning hues.

The chicken sits upon new eggs.
She laid in early morn;
The farmer rises still while dark;
To feed them all with corn.

Amongst the chickens clucking  there;
One odd ball stands so tall.
He  has a beak and feathers though;
He's not the same at all.

He walks around and struts his stuff;
He must not know his fate.
I wonder if he knew the truth;
Would turkey fill our plate?

Thank the Lord for yummy turkey;
 for giblet gravy too.
Just remember to be thankful
Cause, the turkey could be you.

It's Christmas - In The Now

It's Christmas

Susan Y Nikitenko
Humorous Christmas Program Skit
Written December 9th, 2010

Song: It's Christmas

Wise Man 1: Hi, I am a wise man. A real wise guy. This big guy here. He's wise too.

Wise Man 2: Hi, We study the stars and we have spotted a very unusual star. We are here to help reenact and narrate.... The very first Christmas. Christmas is all about C-H-R-I-S-T and that spells Christ.

Wise Man 1: We are in the now, telling the story of the then. We have been traveling from the east for a very long time. We have great gifts for the New born King. We want to honor Him with gold, frankincense and myrrh.

Wise Man 2: Now imagine camels, a dark starry night and dirty feet with blisters singing on our long journey. Remember... We will be traveling at least two more years.

Song: Follow the Star

Shepherd: Hi, I am a shepherd. I am out in the field watching the sheep. I am in the now.... telling the story of the then. All us shepherds were out watching sheep when something nearly scared us to death.
Angels appeared from nowhere......Imagine the whole sky lighting up and the sheep running in fear and one of us yelling "what in the world is that?" .....We were shaking like this. SHAKE Then the angels said.......

Angel: Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.

All ANGELS SHOUT; Glory to God in the highest, Glory to God in the highest ........

AngelsHi: We are the angels in the now...well you know

Shepherd: We know and you're telling the story of the then.

Angel: That's right how'd you know?

Shepherd: Everybody knows that.

Angel : Oh

Shepherd: Now we are going to go check things out in Bethlehem. Imagine climbing up a big hill and asking directions while we are moving our sheep along. And here we are worshipping the new born King. We found him in a stable.

Song: Away in a Manger

All: Lu 2:7 And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.

Joseph: Hi, I'm Joseph

Mary: And I'm Mary and this is baby Jesus -

Angel: And the scripture was fulfilled - In the Then!

Mt 1:21 And she shall bring forth a son; and thou shalt call his name JESUS; for it is he that shall save his people from their sins.
And we celebrate the birth of our Savior on Christmas day. In the Now!

Song: On Christmas Day

Song: Ring Out The News

Wise Man 2: Remember us, we are the wise men.....We are still traveling in the then, so Imagine sleeping on a sandy bed, and eating interesting food. Imagine long discussions about the stars and very tired legs.

Wise Man1: But we are telling you the story in the now. As we look to the star remember that Jesus is the light of the world. He came into this world and learned and understood our feelings. He suffered and understands human pain. But Jesus never ever sinned. He was perfect yet gave His life so that you could know peace and forgiveness.

Song: Where There's Light There's Hope

Wise Man2: We have gifts of gold, and valuable spices and perfume. Gifts of royalty for the New born King. And as we look to the light we do not fully understand that this King will one day die for the world.

Wise Man 1: Jesus was and is a gift to the world, for He is alone is the way of salvation to all who believe. He gave and He's still giving.

Wise Man2
: And all the wise men and women of this world should give to others and to God, because to love is to give. After all Jesus didn't have to die for us.

Song: To Love is To Give

Wise Man2: Hey, can I ask you a question?

Wise Man: Yea! go ahead.

Wise man 2: Do your feet hurt?

Wise Man 1: No, because I'm living in the Now.

Wise Man 2: Yea, it can be painful living in the past.

Wise Man1: I prefer the Now, cause all my sins are under the blood. I don't like desert travel and I prefer a mattress.

Wise Man 2: You are very wise. Speaking of living in the now. See our Christmas star. Well that star represents the light and Jesus is the light of the world. The Bible speaks of Jesus as a Star in
(2Pe 1:19 We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts: ) Now, when a person believes and puts their trust in Jesus. Jesus the light of the world is born in their heart. It's like a personal Christmas...Jesus not only came to die for us, but He came to live in us and He came that we could live.

Wise Man 1: Every Christmas we are reminded of why Jesus came and how much He loves us, but we really can't understand Christmas until Christmas happens in our hearts.

Song: Christmas Isn't Christmas

Shepherd s Yell: Guess What?

Everyone Yells: What?

Shepherds Yell
: It's Christmas!

Song:
It's Christmas

Noah's Ark Part 2 - A New Beginning

Noah And The Ark Part 2

A New Beginning

Now I realize that many people might say, "What does Noah's ark have to do with Thanksgiving?"
First of all. remember last week we all pretended to build an ark and I told you an ark is a great big boat or ship.

I was reminded this past week ,while thinking about this week's lesson, that the Pilgrims traveled by ship to what they called the new world .  It was a new beginning,  just as it was for Noah and his family.

Noah and his family were on the ark many,  many days.  It rained for forty days and in that time, I'm sure, they thought about all those people who rejected God.  They were so glad they listened to God.

 Noah and his family must of had many chores to do.  Taking care of all those animals kept them busy and entertained.  We all know that God's creation IS very entertaining.  They all sound different .  They all look different, they are individual miracles, created by the hand and mind of God.

Even though there was  plenty to do,  I'm sure they wondered if they would ever see land again.

After the rain stopped  Noah sent out a raven and it returned to the ark because it had no place to land. He waited seven days and sent out another bird, a dove, and it returned with nothing, then he waited again another seven days and again sent out the dove.  The dove returned with an olive branch, so Noah knew the water was going down.

Soon they would land upon the top of a mountain, Mount Ararat.  I'm sure they were excited to get off the ark.  It was a new world awaiting them.  A new beginning.  They had so much to do, they were the only people left in the world.  How tempted they must have been to leave the ark as soon as it landed.  But they waited until God told them it was time.

Then Noah heard something, God spoke to him again.  He said it was time for His family and all of the animals to leave the ark.   They worked until all the work was done.  Then Noah, built an altar to the Lord, and offered sacrifices.  Thanksgiving, to Lord God for the new world.  Starting things out right, they worshiped Him.

Noah and his family had so much for which to be thankful.  They must have felt as though the whole world belonged to them.  Noah's family was saved.  They were spared because they believed God and obeyed him.

Then God did something.  He did something beautiful.  A giant rainbow appeared and Noah and his family looked up at the many colors.  God told him it was a covenant between God and man,  A covenant is a promise.  God promised never to destroy the world with water again.

Did you know that God always keeps his promises?  God has many promises throughout the Word of God.  One  that comes to my mind this morning, is that, " God will never leave us nor forsake us. "

God was with Noah and his family because they loved him and obeyed him.  They put God first.  All the people who died in the flood did not choose to love God nor did they choose to believe him.
Noah and His family were Thankful to God and they had a time of Thanksgiving to the Lord.

Which brings my thoughts back to the first Thanksgiving of America.  They remembered the Lord and gave thanks to him for all his provisions. They celebrated the many blessings of Lord.  They trusted the many promises of scripture.  They knew God keeps his promises.  They too saw the rainbow created by God and thought of God's goodness to Noah and his family, after all they too had a new beginning after a long voyage.

God is the God of new beginnings, not only in the true stories we learned about today, but also in our own lives.  God's desire is that we trust Christ as our Savior. Jesus died for our sins.  If we believe God and put our trust in Christ for our salvation the promise becomes real in our hearts.,

Noah and His family believed God. They built and entered the ark  and were saved from the floods.  When we trust and accept Christ we are saved from our sins.  We are saved through what Christ did at the cross.

Noah and his family left the ark just as Christ left the empty tomb into a new life.  That's what happens in our heart when we trust Christ. Let's read this verse together.

2 Corinthians 5:17

Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

Father God,  Thank-You for all your many blessing to us each day.  This thanksgiving season we want to remember how good you have been in providing salvation to us and also our everyday needs.
Be with each one here today and open their eyes to your Word. Thank - you so much for each person here and bless them as they walk with you.

In Christ Jesus Name I Pray, Amen

Bible Lesson:
November 23rd,2014
Genesis 8
[1a] And God remembered Noah, and every living thing, .............
[4] And the ark rested in the seventh month, on the seventeenth day of the month, upon the mountains of Ararat.
[5] And the waters decreased continually until the tenth month: in the tenth month, on the first day of the month, were the tops of the mountains seen.
[6] And it came to pass at the end of forty days, that Noah opened the window of the ark which he had made:
[7] And he sent forth a raven, which went forth to and fro, until the waters were dried up from off the earth.
[11] And the dove came in to him in the evening; and, lo, in her mouth was an olive leaf pluckt off: so Noah knew that the waters were abated from off the earth.
[15] And God spake unto Noah, saying,
[16] Go forth of the ark, thou, and thy wife, and thy sons, and thy sons' wives with thee.
[20] And Noah builded an altar unto the LORD; and took of every clean beast, and of every clean fowl, and offered burnt offerings on the altar.
[21] And the LORD smelled a sweet savour; and the LORD said in his heart, I will not again curse the ground any more for man's sake; for the imagination of man's heart is evil from his youth; neither will I again smite any more every thing living, as I have done..
Chapter 9:
 [13] I do set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a token of a covenant between me and the earth.
[14] And it shall come to pass, when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the bow shall be seen in the cloud:

Noah"s Ark - Lesson - Part 1

Noah"s Ark - Lesson

Coloring Pages/ Visuals : Follow Below:

Noah And The Ark

Genesis 6: 8-9

But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD.
These are the generations of Noah:
Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations, and
Noah walked with God

Genesis 7:5

Noah did according unto all that the LORD commanded him.

I would like to tell you a bible story today about somebody that was especially chosen for a very important job.
God had looked to and fro the whole earth to find anyone who was faithful.  The world had grown to be a very wicked sinful place and God was very grieved because of it.

Out of all the people God saw Noah, he probably stood out like a sore thumb to everyone else, because he loved God and feared him.  He wanted to please God with his life and family.  He was going about life as normal, when one day something happened.  God spoke to Noah.

God told Noah how He was angered by the wickedness of the people.  It made God wish he never made people.  We need to understand that God wants us to love him and fear him.  He hates sin and wants us to turn from it.  God has presented us with choices and as we see in this true story from scripture,  Noah chose to serve God and love Him even though the rest of the known world had chosen to serve sin.

God had a job for Noah, God had, had enough with the rebellion against Him.  He told Noah there was going to be a flood.  It was going to rain so much that the earth would be covered and people,  plant life, and animals would die.    He told him to build an ark.  An ark is a giant boat.     God even gave him the measurements  and told him how He wanted  it to be built.

What do you think?  Do you think Noah listened to God's instructions?  it was so important for Him to follow God's plan for the ark, because it was a matter of life or death.   If He had followed his own plan the boat would not survive  the storm.  It would break up in the waves  and all of creation would be lost.    God had laid out a plan for escaping the judgment of the flood and following his plan was the only plan that would work.  God provided the way of salvation And it was their choice to refuse or follow.

Noah was a preacher and He preached of the coming flood.  He told people to turn to God because God was going to bring judgment upon the world because of mans sin.

Day after day people who past by could hear the hammers of Noah and his sons, They could hear the saws, they could hear the echoes of building.  They pointed fingers at him, they laughed at him.  They made a big joke out of him and his family.

The people had never seen rain before because it had never rained from the time of creation.  He preached and warned people and offered a place of safety upon the ark. Each day they scoffed and refused stubbornly and turned their ears away from the warnings.   Noah preached for one hundred and twenty years  and still none would listen.

Do you think Noah and his family ever had a bad day?  Yes they did.  Sometimes they may have hit a finger  with the hammer but  they kept building.  They were made fun of and rejected, but they kept building.  People thought old Noah was crazy, but he and his family kept on building.  Nothing could stop them from building, because Noah loved and believed God and taught his family the same.

God told them to gather two of every kind of animal, two by two,  male and female.  Lions, tigers, donkeys, cats, bears, ....wow.  Every kind?  God has made seemingly unnumbered  kinds of animals.  We must remember God can do anything and we know God was with Noah and blessed him.  To gather every kind of animal would be a miracle in itself.  God had his hand in everything  they were doing, because if God tells us  to do something, better believe he will be right there beside us while we do it.

Then the  time came,  it was time to shut the windows and doors of the ark.  God said it was time and they heard something,  "Tap Tap,  hear that?  Tap Tap Tap. " The rain had started.  People who refused  to believe were ready to listen, but the door was shut, it was too late.  People were banging on the doors, but suddenly only the storm and waves could be heard outside the ark.

God has provided us a way to escape judgment.  Jesus is our ark, so to speak, and God's plan for redemption.  God loves people but He hates sin.  The bible teaches us that we are all sinners and none of us are righteous or good outside of Christ.  Trusting Christ for our Salvation and what he did on the cross for our sins would be the equivalent  to Noah's family seeking refuge and safety upon the ark.  It was the only way of salvation.

Jesus is the only way of salvation, salvation from the judgment of everlasting hell.  God loves people and has offered a place of safety in Him but they must listen, believe and take heed to the gospel of Christ  by receiving Christ into their heart and life.  After death the doors will be closed it will be too late,
Trust the Lord Jesus Today as your Savior and friend.

Father God,
Speak to each one here today, If there's  anyone here who needs to trust you today, open there hearts and minds to your truth.  Let them see that you have opened your arms to them .  That you want them to come to you and trust you for salvation according to your plan.

If anyone here is having a hard time at school or home or anywhere, give them the strength they need  to keep trusting you. Help them to  keep living for you even if they have a bad day,  just as Noah and his family kept building the ark and loving you even when no one else did.

Sweet Little Boy

Sweet Little Boy

 How sweet your smile;
And little nose.
Your little hands;
Your little toes.

Each word you say;
Each thing you do.
Each time you learn;
Something  new.

I love to hear;
I love to know.
Your love to me;
Is like pure gold.

Each little laugh;
Each little noise.
You touch my heart;
Sweet little boy.

God Can Do Anything

God Can Do Anything

 God can do anything:
Anything at all.
He can make the  sun shine:
Midst a rainy  fall.

He  can make a painting;
All across the sky.
With colors of sunset;
And birds flying by.

He  can do anything:
Anything at all.
He is God creator;
The maker of all.

He has blessed  His children;
With wonderful things.
How can we forget him?
Let's rejoice and sing.

He can speak to our hearts;
With a peaceful call;
God can do anything:
Anything at all.

He  can do anything:
Anything at all.
God  can move a mountain;
With a faith so small.

How can we forget to;
Love Him, put our trust?
He's already given;
So much love to us.

The Creator Of All

The Creator Of All

The Creator Of All

God made the dragonflies:
That fly along the stream.
He made the butterflies:
With colors all abeam.
He made the trees so tall:
and all the leaves that fall.
Oh, praise the Lord our God;
The creator of all.

God made the duck that quacks;
Upon a silent pond.
And on a  peaceful  morn;
Sun arising at dawn.
God made the autumn months;
Filled with unusual things.
Oh, praise the Lord our God;
And all the joy He brings.

Oh, praise the Lord, our God;
Oh, praise the Lord, our God;
Oh, praise the Lord our God;
The creator of all.

The Spiritual Monster Mash Poster

This writing is about the spiritual warfare inside the heart of a Christian. God gives us the tools through prayer, faith and the Word of God to overcome inside emotions that tempt us to respond wrongly.  When we sing the song we could talk about emotions and how we can gain control of them through Christ.  We know there's no real monsters on the inside, but this song individualizes the emotions so they could be taught about in the classroom, how to overcome emotions that want to overwhelm us.

We Know God Is Considerate

We Know God Is Considerate

Sweeter, sweeter than a honey comb;
Is the Word, yes it is true.
God speaks to us through the Word of life:
And His love speaks through too.

We know our God is considerate;
When He loves the sparrow.
When He notices the nobody;
And makes him a hero.

Cause God looks at the heart of man;
And considers his ways.
He 's the only one that really knows;
Who's seeking their own praise.

We know our God is considerate;
When in a garden fair.
He will take notice of a lilly
That goes unnoticed there.

He's numbered the hairs upon our head;
He knows our every tear.
He considers even the little things;
He is always aware.

We know God is considerate;
When He uses a boys lunch.
Though it might seem like a little thing;
He turned little into much.

Encourage Yourself

Encourage Yourself

 Encourage yourself, in  the things of God;
Encourage yourself, in all that's right.
When this world seems like it's upside-down;
The darker the world the brighter the light.

Encourage yourself, In the things of God;
Encourage yourself , be a shining light.
When things  out of control, trouble your soul;
Encourage yourself, keep fighting the fight.

Encourage yourself, in the things of God:
Encourage yourself, because God knows best;
Though you may feel low, your heart downcast;
Speak to yourself in the songs of the blest..

Encourage yourself, in the things of God;
Encourage others along the way;
Making melody  in your heart to God;
Encourage yourself from day to day.

Show Appreciation - Lesson And Visuals

Beautiful Musical Fall: Let's Make Fall More Beautiful By Showing A Good Spirit
In How We Get Along With People And How We Love God.

I'll Be Adding Other Visuals For This Lesson So Check Back To This Post

Put This On The Back Of Your Visual:

We need to appreciate God Almighty by putting him first in our lives.  Nothing should be more important than pleasing Him.  He is our provider, our Father in Heaven.
He didn't have to make a way for us, but He did.  His love has been shown to us by what He did and does for us each day.  When we become born again, He gives us a comforter, the Holy Spirit, the comforter of our soul, who
will abide with us eternally.  He will never leave us nor forsake us.
We can show our appreciation by obeying the Word of God and applying it to our lives.
Jesus Himself said, If you love me keep my commandments.

Show  Appreciation

One of the things we are reminded of each fall is to be thankful.
All things that we have, all things we enjoy. every person we love, those that love us, each
good thing we get to experience and learn are gifts from our Father in heaven.

When we are thankful to someone, an action sometimes comes along with being thankful.  The action is called appreciation.
Sometimes we do not realize how much we love something or someone until we don't have them.  Then is when we realize we were not as appreciative as we should have been.
I remember when we moved from our home in Ohio to Oklahoma, after a while I realized  I missed some things I never thought I would.
I missed the smells of the woodsy areas and the sounds of the splashing stream echoing through the hills.  I missed autumn, because I didn't see the beauty of autumn there.  Though there are beautiful sights there, it's not the same.  I missed the taste of our water that flowed from a sweet water stream underground.  I missed the hills and the tall trees that seemed like they were miles high.
Well, God brought us back to a place that has all those things seemingly, right in our own back yard.  In appreciation I put my heart into caring for it, as best  I can.  I thank God for the times I have been able to feel the old familiar feelings of home, the feeling I knew as a kid.

We should always show appreciation for people who love us, like our parents.  We should show appreciation through our actions, a card, a hug, acknowledgement, or just including them in our day.  One way that you can show appreciation to your parents is by obeying them.  When you give your parents a hard time it makes their life harder.  When you obey them, God is pleased with you.  if you see a job around the house that you can help with, do it.  These kind of actions show love and appreciation for your parents. Appreciation is evidence that we are thankful and is something that can be felt.
When someone does something for you just because they care about you, you should always show your appreciation. A person may even do something for you they really don't want to do, but they will do it because they love you.

I think of Jesus, Jesus did something he didn't want to do.

Let's look at this verse:

Matthew 26:39

And he went a little further, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt.

Jesus didn't want to suffer.  He didn't want to be nailed to the cross.  But he still gave himself willingly, because He loves you and He loves His Father.

It was not some random act of kindness.

 Sometimes we don't want to do something, but we want to, for only one reason:  We love the person we are doing it for or we are showing love to the person we are doing it for.

 When someone has spent their own money, taken special time out for you, they have sacrificed, even if it's the smallest amount.  You should show appreciation, even if it's just taking the time to say two valuable words.

Thank You.

 --------

Lord Jesus, teach us how to be people who appreciate the people you bring into our lives, help us to show our appreciation to the people who love us and the people we love.  Thank-You so much Lord for the kindness to us in giving us wonderful things in life to enjoy, like the beauty of the fall months.  Thank-you for providing us with daily needs and daily love.

In Christ's Name I Pray This,  Amen

James 1:17

Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.
