It Wasn’t Just A Band-Aid
There were ten lonely lepers;
Looking for a miracle that day.
Suff’ring, hungry and thirsty;
They were sickly, spotted castaways.
In a loveless world of grief;
Rejected by both friends and family.
They cried to God in their need;
"Oh God please, don’t forget about me."
From a distance they could see;
A man approaching with loving eyes.
With acceptance on His face;
Could it be that God had heard their cries?
They met Him outside the gate;
They saw Jesus, and they cried mercy;
Then He sent them to the priest.
They were cleansed, healed from their leprosy.
It wasn’t just a band-aid.
It wasn’t just a temporal fix.
No, It wasn’t imagined.
It wasn’t some kind of magic trick.
God sent His Son to heal them;
From a lonely life of leprosy.
He met them along life’s way;
Pulled them from a life of misery.
They were healed and stood amazed;
But somehow forgot to thank and praise.
They ran in joy rejoicing;
But one stayed to thank Him on that day.
He praised at His feet with thanks;
He did not hesitate to repeat.
“Oh Thank-you Jesus, Thank-you Jesus;”
The blessing of God, how sweet.
It wasn’t just a band-aid.
It wasn’t just a temporal fix.
No, It wasn’t imagined.
It wasn’t some kind of magic trick.
Jesus heals the hurting life;
He saves the sin-sick captive soul;
In His love rescues them;
In His mercy, He makes them whole.
“Oh Thank-you Jesus, Thank-you Jesus;”
For washing away my sin.
Help me never forget to praise you;
Again and again and again.

Luke 17:19 Arise, go thy way: thy faith hath made thee whole.
Luke 17:11- 19
And it came to pass, as he went to Jerusalem, that he passed through the midst of Samaria and Galilee.
And as he entered into a certain village, there met him ten men that were lepers, which stood afar off:
And they lifted up their voices, and said, Jesus, Master, have mercy on us.
And when he saw them, he said unto them, Go shew yourselves unto the priests. And it came to pass, that, as they went, they were cleansed.
And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, and with a loud voice glorified God,
And fell down on his face at his feet, giving him thanks: and he was a Samaritan.
And Jesus answering said, Were there not ten cleansed? but where are the nine?
There are not found that returned to give glory to God, save this stranger.
And he said unto him, Arise, go thy way: thy faith hath made thee whole.
