Practice
Make Purrrfect
Once upon a time
in a peaceful countryside, there lived a fluffy and gentle llama named Lola, a
sleek and graceful cat named Whiskers, and a wise and kind owl named Ollie. One
sunny day, Lola was playing near Whiskers' precious drawing, the one he worked
so hard on for the art contest. Suddenly, Lola accidentally spilled water all
over the drawing, ruining it completely.
"Nervously,
Lola approached Whiskers and said, 'Whiskers, I have something to tell you... I
accidentally spilled water all over your drawing. The one you worked so hard on
for the art contest. I'm really, really sorry!'"
Whiskers was angry
and upset. "My drawing?! Lola, that was important! How could you be so
careless?"
Ollie, the wise
owl, noticed the commotion and calmly intervened. "Let's take a deep
breath, everyone. Remember, we all make mistakes. It's important to show love
and forgiveness, just like Jesus taught us. Remember how Jesus forgave those
who wronged Him."
Lola, feeling
truly sorry, asked, "Can we practice apologizing?"
Whiskers, still
frustrated, agreed. "Fine, but you better get it right."
Lola thought hard
and said, "Uh... Whiskers, I'm sorry I... um... 'waterized' your
drawing?"
Whiskers raised an
eyebrow. "Waterized? That's not even a word, Lola."
Ollie smiled and
encouraged Lola. "Keep trying, Lola. You'll get it right."
Lola nervously
tried again. "Okay, okay. Whiskers, I'm sorry I... turned your drawing
into a... um... water park?"
Whiskers sighed.
"Lola, focus! It was an accident, just say that."
Lola, embarrassed,
said, "Right, right. I'm sorry I accidentally spilled water on your
drawing. Can you forgive me?"
Whiskers thought
for a moment and asked, "Hmm... Why do you keep licking your paws,
Lola?"
Confused, Lola
responded, "Uh, never mind. Let's get back to apologizing. Whiskers, I'm
sorry I... uh... cat-tastrophized your drawing?"
Whiskers couldn't
help but laugh. "Cat-tastrophized? That's creative, but not quite
right."
Ollie chuckled and
said, "Apologizing can be hard, but you're doing great. Keep
practicing."
Lola, feeling
frustrated, tried again. "Okay, okay. Whiskers, I'm sorry I...
accidentally made your drawing wetter than a fish in the sea."
Whiskers, trying
not to laugh, said, "Well, that's one way to put it. Let's try
again."
Taking a deep
breath, Lola finally said, "Whiskers, I'm really sorry for spilling water
on your drawing. I didn't mean to, and I hope you can forgive me. Just like
Jesus forgave those who wronged Him."
Whiskers softened
and said, "Alright, Lola. I forgive you. It was just a drawing, and you're
more important to me than any drawing."
Lola, relieved,
said, "Thank you, Whiskers! I'll help you make a new one for the
contest."
Ollie, proudly,
said, "That's the spirit! Showing love and forgiveness makes friendships
stronger."
Whiskers smiled
and added, "Yes, let's make an even better drawing together, Lola. Oh, by
the way, why do you keep licking your paws?"
Blushing, Lola
replied, "I... I just get nervous! Let's get back to the drawing!"
Whiskers teased,
"Do llamas even have paws?"
Ollie laughed and
said, "Well, this llama does!"
All three characters laughed together, and then
they started singing and dancing around to the tune of
"The Farmer in the Dell."

**Bible Story
Parallel:**
The story of the
Prodigal Son (Luke 15:11-32) is a wonderful example that parallels the theme of
love and forgiveness. In this parable, Jesus tells of a son who asks for his
inheritance and then squanders it in reckless living. When he realizes his
mistakes and returns home, his father welcomes him back with open arms, showing
immense love and forgiveness. This story beautifully illustrates the message of
showing love and forgiveness, just as the father forgives his son and rejoices
at his return.
