Raulie Considers the Poor

Or Rally -

I shrunk the verse down by 70%
so the words would fit the chart.

At the beginning of your lesson:
Use one to read out loud having
the kids repeat after you.

Cut one into words
for the memory verse chart.
Read the verse together once.
Then have a child remove a word.
Read the verse again, then remove another word.
Keep on doing the same thing until all the words are gone.
By the end, they should be able to recite the verse
without reading them.

Proverbs 29:7 Song

Don’t Get Gonged Answers:

Obey Your Parents.

Do not ignore the poor.

Coloring Sheet

We hide God's word in our hearts that we can know how to live for and to please God.
Knowing God's word and prayer helps us make good decisions in life.
God is the one who teaches us through his Word, to hide his word in our hearts.
Raulie has a sensitive heart towards God and towards other people.
God teaches us to love him and to love others.  Firstly and most importantly we are to love the family of God.  We learn Bible verses to hide God's word in our hearts.

Psalms 119:11 ¶ Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.

Practice saying your verses and practice telling other people.

Raulie Considers the Poor

Raulie, worked a newspaper route early in the morning before school.  He rode his bike from home to home.  One morning he saw a family rummaging the trashcans for food.  One of them had no shoes on his feet.   His heart felt sad but he didn’t know what to do.  He couldn’t leave off his job to check on them.  He was specifically instructed by his father to stay with the route and to get home as soon as possible to eat and to get his bag for school.

Once Raulie was at school, he continued to think about the people he saw and decided all he could do was pray.  The best thing we can do is pray for someone when we can do nothing else.

Raulie decided later that he would put a dollar of his pay into a separate envelope.  He did this each time he got paid.   Soon Raulie collected ten dollars, then soon it became twenty dollars.

Raulie was out on his newspaper route and noticed his neighbor fumbling about in shoes that were falling apart.  He thought in his heart that his neighbor needed help but he knew he needed to wait and talk to his parents before helping anyone.

That morning he had time to talk to his father about their neighbor needing help.  His father agreed to go to check on their elderly neighbor.  "Dad, He said, I’ve been able to save twenty dollars towards helping anyone who I see that needs help."  "I’m so proud of you, my son,  His father said.  "I will double the twenty dollars if we see we need to help our neighbor. "

His father prayed with his son and they left together to check on their neighbor Mr. Banner.

Mr. Banner weakly opened the door when he heard his doorbell.  They talked to Mr. Banner for a while about his needs.  Mr. Banner had no food and had no clothes to warm him through the winter.  He was recovering from being very sick.

Raulie's family, put their money together and went shopping to buy Mr. Banner winter clothing and both fresh and dry goods.

God wants us to help those that can not help themselves. The bible says in:

 James 2:16

And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit?

Proverbs 29:7

The righteous considereth the cause of the poor: but the wicked regardeth not to know it.

When we pray, God will lead us to know who to help and when we should help.  We know, that God wants us to consider others.  Sometimes God wants us, to give just to show the love of God.  It may be just as small as an iced cookie with sprinkles or $100.00 towards a new baby’s future.  Sometimes God blesses us just because we need to know we are loved.  Other times God wants us to give to those who are truly in need like Mr. Banner.

We also need to remember that God promises blessings to his children that give without grudging.  We are to give of our tithes and our offerings to the Lord.  He promises that he will open the windows of heaven and shower us with blessings.  He also promises if we do not hear the cry of the poor even though we have the ability to help, then God will not hear our cries when we need help.

Malachi 3:10 Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.

Proverbs 21:13 ¶ Whoso stoppeth his ears at the cry of the poor, he also shall cry himself, but shall not be heard.

Remember God considered us as poor lost sinners in need.  What did we need?  We needed saved from our sins.  God paid the price and provided a way.  Jesus Christ his precious Son came to die for our sins.  Will you believe that Christ died for you and paid the price for your sins?  Will you believe that you are forgiven under his blood, shed for you?  Jesus arose from the dead and when you trust him, he will live in your heart and comfort your soul as you trust him and praise him.  Ask him today for his great salvation which is found only through his Son, Christ Jesus.

I pray this in Christ's name, that you will be saved and know Jesus today.

Father God, If there is anyone here today that does know you as Saviour, I pray you will open their eyes and hearts today to understand that without Jesus we are in need spiritually and that's why God sent his Only-begotten Son to die for our sins.  God considered the poor both physically and spiritually.  I pray you will use us today to teach your truth clearly as we teach.  Give each one here the understanding of your love and forgiveness.  I pray anyone here who needs to be saved would truly want to know you and live for you today..  In Christ Jesus' name, I pray this amen.

Shelby Learns to Help Others

Follow Here: I Cried Unto The Lord

Which shoe would you buy?

Shelby Learns to Help Others

Shelby needed some new clothes for the cooler weather.  All her clothes from last year were too small.  Shelby and her mother went shopping and bought everything Shelby needed.  They bought shoes and boots, dresses, pants, shirts and a coat, plus many other things.   Shelby was enjoying all her new clothes tremendously, when she looked at her new shoes, she remembered something.   "Mom," she said, I remembered just now that my friend at school does not have very good shoes.  Her shoes are all beat up and worn nearly to pieces."  Her mother replied, “The cool fall weather is soon going to change and many children need a new size clothing.  They can no longer fit in last fall's clothing.  Sometimes people need a little help from each other.”

Shelby was quiet until dinner.  They all gathered at the table to eat.  Shelby asked her dad if he would pray for her friend, Renea, and her need for some new shoes.  He prayed for Renea and asked for the blessing of their food.

Later that evening before bed, they had devotions as a family and Shelby’s dad chose a very important topic, a topic we all should pay very close attention to.

James 2:16 And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit?

---If you have the ability to give to someone in need then you should. If God brings someone into your life that needs clothing or needs food.  Then we should do what we can because we can.

Sometimes God gives us what we need and sometimes others give us what we need.  We should be humble enough to accept someone’s generosity of a helping hand or a gift from them which is an answer to prayer.  First giving to God then giving to others.  God can show his love through us.

We also need to remember that giving to others or helping others is being like God, however, we must ask direction as to whom we help and for when we help.

Galatians 6:10 As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.

Later, Shelby was trying to go to sleep but she couldn’t stop thinking about her friend.  She resized after a while that God was telling her something.  God was telling Shelby to buy her friends shoes with her own allowance.  She finally went to sleep and slept all night.

That morning she got up and went to eat breakfast.  "Dad,  We prayed that God would give Renea new shoes but God told me, in my heart, to buy them with my allowance.  Mother said we will have to go shopping together maybe even tonight."  Her father agreed, and they prayed over their breakfast.  They thanked the Lord for their food and all their many blessings.

 Galatians 6:10

As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.

When people give to the poor it is called giving for charity.  Charity in the bible means love in action.

God is an example of charity.  God provides for our needs each day.  We give thanks for those things and ask for our needs. If our hearts are right with him.  He will provide.

He loved us so much he sent us a very special gift.  He sent a gift that would change the heart of anyone who believes and accepts his gift.   People must be humble enough to ask and accept his gift of charity.  The gift is his son.  His only begotten son.  Who laid down his life for you upon the cross.  Who shed his sinless blood in your place.  All because God wants to save you from your sin and does not want you to go to hell.  He tells us to ask, ask for what? ask him to save you.  Believe upon the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved.  Believe upon his death, burial, and resurrection.  He has offered you a gift of charity are you humble enough to receive it?  God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble.

Luke 11:9 And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.
