Raulie Considers the Poor
Obey Your Parents.
Do not ignore the poor.
Raulie, worked a newspaper route early in
the morning before school. He rode his
bike from home to home. One morning he
saw a family rummaging the trashcans for food.
One of them had no shoes on his feet. His heart felt sad but he didn’t know what to
do. He couldn’t leave off his job to
check on them. He was specifically
instructed by his father to stay with the route and to get home as soon as
possible to eat and to get his bag for school.
Mr. Banner weakly opened the door when he
heard his doorbell. They talked to Mr.
Banner for a while about his needs. Mr. Banner had no
food and had no clothes to warm him through the winter. He was recovering from being very sick.
James 2:16
And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit?
The righteous considereth the cause of the
poor: but the wicked regardeth not to know it.
We also need to remember that God promises blessings to his children that give without grudging. We are to give of our tithes and our offerings to the Lord. He promises that he will open the windows of heaven and shower us with blessings. He also promises if we do not hear the cry of the poor even though we have the ability to help, then God will not hear our cries when we need help.
Malachi 3:10 Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.
Proverbs 21:13 ¶ Whoso stoppeth his ears at the cry of the poor, he also shall cry himself, but shall not be heard.

Shelby Learns to Help Others
Follow Here: I Cried Unto The Lord
Shelby Learns to Help
Others
Shelby needed some new clothes for the cooler weather. All her clothes from last year were too
small. Shelby and her mother went
shopping and bought everything Shelby needed. They bought shoes and boots, dresses, pants, shirts
and a coat, plus many other things. Shelby was enjoying all her new clothes tremendously,
when she looked at her new shoes, she remembered something. "Mom," she said, I remembered just now that my friend at school does not have very good
shoes. Her shoes are all beat up and
worn nearly to pieces." Her mother replied,
“The cool fall weather is soon going to change and many children need a new
size clothing. They can no longer fit in
last fall's clothing. Sometimes people need
a little help from each other.”
Shelby was quiet until dinner. They all gathered at the table to eat. Shelby asked her dad if he would pray for her
friend, Renea, and her need for some new shoes.
He prayed for Renea and asked for the blessing of their food.
Later that evening before bed, they had devotions as a
family and Shelby’s dad chose a very important topic, a topic we all should pay
very close attention to.
James 2:16 And one of
you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye
give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit?
---If you have the ability to give to someone in need then you should. If God brings someone into your life that needs clothing or needs food. Then we should do what we can because we can.
Sometimes God gives us what we need and sometimes others
give us what we need. We should be
humble enough to accept someone’s generosity of a helping hand or a gift from
them which is an answer to prayer. First
giving to God then giving to others. God
can show his love through us.
We also need to remember that giving to others or helping
others is being like God, however, we must ask direction as to whom we help and
for when we help.
Galatians 6:10 As we have therefore opportunity, let us do
good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.
Later, Shelby was trying to go to sleep but she couldn’t
stop thinking about her friend. She resized
after a while that God was telling her something. God was telling Shelby to buy her friends
shoes with her own allowance. She
finally went to sleep and slept all night.
That morning she got up and went to eat breakfast. "Dad, We prayed that God would give
Renea new shoes but God told me, in my heart, to buy them with my allowance. Mother said we will have to go shopping
together maybe even tonight." Her father
agreed, and they prayed over their breakfast.
They thanked the Lord for their food and all their many blessings.
As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.
When people give to the poor it is called giving for charity. Charity in the bible means love in action.
God is an example of charity. God provides for our needs each day. We give thanks for those things and ask for
our needs. If our hearts are right with him.
He will provide.
He loved us so much
he sent us a very special gift. He sent
a gift that would change the heart of anyone who believes and accepts his gift. People
must be humble enough to ask and accept his gift of charity. The gift is his son. His only begotten son. Who laid down his life for you upon the
cross. Who shed his sinless blood in
your place. All because God wants to
save you from your sin and does not want you to go to hell. He tells us to ask, ask for what? ask him to
save you. Believe upon the Lord Jesus
Christ and thou shalt be saved. Believe
upon his death, burial, and resurrection.
He has offered you a gift of charity are you humble enough to receive it? God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble.
Luke 11:9 And I say unto you, Ask,
and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be
opened unto you.

Fall Dog Coloring Page - Joy Unspeakable
Willaby's Loved Too
Willaby was a big pouncy dog with a long-wet dripping tongue that hung about five
inches long. Mom told me to keep him out
of the formal living room where all her valuable gifts from dad were. My dad had died but my mother kept everything
he ever gave her.
Willaby was my best friend. He made my life an
adventure. He would let me dress him up
as a pirate. He would let me dress him
up as a clown. He let me ride on his
back like a horse. He was everywhere I
was. We could communicate with each
other; we knew each other so well. He
couldn’t talk people talk but I could still understand him.
One
day my mom needed to take a trip to the store.
I was doing my homework and my older sister was nearby if I needed any
help. Willaby laid down right beside me
and would look up at me with those big, let’s play, eyes. “Not right now Willaby, I said. I have to get my math done, just a few more
problems.”
Willaby was normally a very well-behaved dog, but he was restless and started running
around the house. “What’s wrong Willaby?” He was wining and biting at his tale. He took off fast from room to room as though
he was running from something. My sister
Teresa, shocked, asked, What’s wrong with Willaby?” He’s lost his mind.” Then it happened, a nightmare, He ran into
the formal living room and broke one of my mother’s most loved dolls. Then he broke a vase that my great grandmother
gave my mother when Dad and Mom got married.
My sister started bawling, “Moms going to be so upset! Dumb Dog!” She knelt down to pick up all the broken
pieces. “This was the one dad got her on
their twenty-third wedding anniversary.”
“I miss him so much!” She
wept. I do too, sis, how are we going to
tell mom?”
I
don’t know my sister sobbed”. I was
crying too and I really did not want to tell mom.
I ran
to my room and found an empty shoebox.
We gathered all the broken pieces and put them in the box. We sat it on the counter, In our
kitchen. “Now what?’ I asked.
My sister said, “Let’s pray.” “I’m afraid to tell mom.” “I know,” I said, she just got back to
normal.” So, we prayed and just sat
there with our tears flowing down our cheeks waiting for mom to walk in the
door.
We
could hear the car pull into the garage.
We could hear our mothers’ keys at the door. I ran to the door to help her with the groceries.
Teresa and Willaby both were there too and
Willaby licked her right on the face. “Hi
Guys, “ “ Thanks for the kiss Willaby, she said as she patted him on the head
and wiped the wetness from her
face. “How are all my sweethearts today?”
She asked with a smile.
“We
feel sad mom,” I said. “What’s wrong? Are you Okay? Did something
happen?”. “ It’s kind of hard to tell
you mom.” said my sister Teresa. “You
tell her Tom.” My sister whispered. “Mom, I’m just going to say it. Willaby was going crazy and ran all over the
house and charged into the formal living room.
He clumsily knocked over your things and they are broken now. “Oh no!” but are you okay and Willaby is he
okay?" “They were the things that dad and
grandma gave you mom.” "We are fine Mom.” "We are concerned about you." She opened the box and looked in at her broken
treasures.
My
mom started weeping and said something I will never forget. She was holding the box in her hand and said, “ Nothing, in this world is as precious to me as you both and Willaby. I know these gifts were from people I love. It’s been a while ago since your dad died. I can’t take any of these things to heaven
with me. Heaven is forever. I have
discovered what is more important in life.
You are and I love you more than anything I own. Even Willaby is more important to me than
anything I have.
I
just want to be sure that when this life is done for me. It would be to know it won’t mean goodbye.
It’s
not a goodbye for me and your dad. I will
see him again and we will hug and hold hands.
I will talk to him again and enjoy his smile. I want you both to know Jesus. Teresa, I want you to get saved.
I
would give up all the precious gifts I have, to know that you know Jesus and
love him. I may live many more years yet
but I want to know when I do that it’s not goodbye. Praise God, I will see your dad again, will
you.? I love you and I have the joy of
Jesus even though I miss your dad. God’s
joy for us is unspeakable in that we can know his presence through our tears. Psalms 30:5
Weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning. We have a joy that can only can be found in Jesus
and our relationship with him. Trusting
him through our sorrows and also through our laughter.
You and Christ are the most important things to me.
"We love you, mom! forever." "I love you too. mom hugged us" We love you too Willoby! Rough! Rough! "Let’s go play in the leaves!" Mom squealed. "Yes!"" Willaby will love that!" My sister cheered.
"Me too!" and Willably was a very happy dog.
