Each day we can rejoice in our hope. The hope of Christ and the promise of his return. The hope of heaven where Jesus will brush our last tears away. For, we shall never cry again. We will then know more joy than we've ever known.
Christ is Our Forever
As we hear of the devastating horrific things
that happen in this world. Our hearts
feel saddened and disheartened.Some are
traumatized and troubled over the violence and cruelty that happens in this
world.
We who truly know Christ, we have a home that
awaits us where angels sing and rejoice night and day.
Where sweetness of spirit always persists, and
the true love of Christ dwells. No hate
or hurt, no unwelcoming judgment, no violence, no death only peace eternal.
All those that perish in their rejection of
Christ will weep evermore within the torments of hell.
We warn people as the Lord has commanded but the
world goes on as if there is no God.
Our peace and our hope is Christ for he will
carry us away one day to our home awaiting us.
We do not rejoice over the terrible things that
happen in life. We rejoice because we
have a Father in heaven to hold us and comfort us through our tears. We rejoice that this life is temporal and the
only
“Forever Home” is heaven.
Every day there is something to cry about. Someone killed people, people died. Marriages
break up, someone committed suicide. A
bomb went off people died on the streets. We could talk forever about the hurt
of children or people who die of cancer. These things will happen and our
hearts would be consumed
if we let it.
Christ is our forever. This world will pass away and all of these
things will end for us when we enter glory.
God tells us to comfort each other with these things. We have a place awaiting, that Jesus has
prepared. A place where Godly love is
real and shall never be broken. We will
see the most beautiful wave of Christians from all over the world. Every color,
singing and worshipping across the golden streets of heaven. We will see them singing. We will see them worshiping. We shall do so
together in praise of our Father, God Almighty.
Each day we can rejoice in our hope. The hope of Christ and the promise of his
return. The hope of heaven where Jesus will brush our last tears away. For, we shall never cry again. We will then know more joy than we've ever known.
Jesus is in our hearts and He will be with us
always. He is our helper, our friend, and
our comforter.
1Thesalonians 4:16-18
For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven
with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and
the dead in Christ shall rise first:
Then we which are alive and remain shall be
caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so
shall we ever be with the Lord.
Wherefore comfort one another with these words. (Referring
to verses 16 and 17)
1 Corinthians 15:52
In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the
last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised
incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
Revelations 21:4
And God
shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death,
neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the
former things are passed away.

Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this,
To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.
Romans 12:15
Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep.
There are a lot of things in this world we could weep about, but the bible does tell us to weep with them that weep. Not only that, the shortest verse in the bible comes to mind. Jesus wept. Jesus felt compassion for his friends who had lost loved ones. He wept with those who wept.

I'm going to read these questions to my class without giving the answers
Then I'm going to tell them the bible story about Lazarus.
WE are reading through it and discussing it. Remind them that they are going to be quizzed
at the end of our lesson with the review questions.
John 11:1-2
Now a certain man was sick, named Lazarus, of Bethany, the town of Mary and her sister Martha.
(It was that Mary which anointed the Lord with ointment, and wiped his feet with her hair, whose brother Lazarus was sick.)
Therefore his sisters sent unto him, saying, Lord, behold, he whom thou lovest is sick.
When Jesus heard that, he said, This sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God, that the Son of God might be glorified thereby.
Now Jesus loved Martha, and her sister, and Lazarus.
When he had heard therefore that he was sick, he abode two days still in the same place where he was.
Then after that saith he to his disciples, Let us go into Judaea again.
His disciples say unto him, Master, the Jews of late sought to stone thee; and goest thou thither again?
Jesus answered, Are there not twelve hours in the day? If any man walk in the day, he stumbleth not, because he seeth the light of this world.
But if a man walk in the night, he stumbleth, because there is no light in him.
These things said he: and after that he saith unto them, Our friend Lazarus sleepeth; but I go, that I may awake him out of sleep.
Then said his disciples, Lord, if he sleep, he shall do well.
Howbeit Jesus spake of his death: but they thought that he had spoken of taking of rest in sleep.
Then said Jesus unto them plainly, Lazarus is dead.
And I am glad for your sakes that I was not there, to the intent ye may believe; nevertheless, let us go unto him.
Then said Thomas, which is called Didymus, unto his fellowdisciples, Let us also go, that we may die with him.
Then when Jesus came, he found that he had lain in the grave four days already.
Now Bethany was nigh unto Jerusalem, about fifteen furlongs off: {about...: that is, about two miles}
And many of the Jews came to Martha and Mary, to comfort them concerning their brother.
Then Martha, as soon as she heard that Jesus was coming, went and met him: but Mary sat still in the house.
Then said Martha unto Jesus, Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother had not died.
But I know, that even now, whatsoever thou wilt ask of God, God will give it thee.
Jesus saith unto her, Thy brother shall rise again.
Martha saith unto him, I know that he shall rise again in the resurrection at the last day.
Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:
And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?
She saith unto him, Yea, Lord: I believe that thou art the Christ, the Son of God, which should come into the world.
And when she had so said, she went her way, and called Mary her sister secretly, saying, The Master is come, and calleth for thee.
As soon as she heard that, she arose quickly, and came unto him.
Now Jesus was not yet come into the town, but was in that place where Martha met him.
The Jews then which were with her in the house, and comforted her, when they saw Mary, that she rose up hastily and went out, followed her, saying, She goeth unto the grave to weep there.
Then when Mary was come where Jesus was, and saw him, she fell down at his feet, saying unto him, Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother had not died.
When Jesus therefore saw her weeping, and the Jews also weeping which came with her, he groaned in the spirit, and was troubled, {was troubled: Gr. he troubled himself}
And said, Where have ye laid him? They said unto him, Lord, come and see.
Jesus wept.
Then said the Jews, Behold how he loved him!
And some of them said, Could not this man, which opened the eyes of the blind, have caused that even this man should not have died?
Jesus therefore again groaning in himself cometh to the grave. It was a cave, and a stone lay upon it.
Jesus said, Take ye away the stone. Martha, the sister of him that was dead, saith unto him, Lord, by this time he stinketh: for he hath been dead four days.
Jesus saith unto her, Said I not unto thee, that, if thou wouldest believe, thou shouldest see the glory of God?
Then they took away the stone from the place where the dead was laid. And Jesus lifted up his eyes, and said, Father, I thank thee that thou hast heard me.
And I knew that thou hearest me always: but because of the people which stand by I said it, that they may believe that thou hast sent me.
And when he thus had spoken, he cried with a loud voice, Lazarus, come forth.
And he that was dead came forth, bound hand and foot with graveclothes: and his face was bound about with a napkin. Jesus saith unto them, Loose him, and let him go.
Then many of the Jews which came to Mary, and had seen the things which Jesus did, believed on him.
God comforts our hearts as Christians when we go through hard times like this. Jesus even wept over his friend's grief. People that trusted in Jesus cried over Lazarus's death. It is a natural thing for people to cry when someone we love dies. We miss people we love who have died and cry over it again and again. When you know Jesus you can tell God all about how you feel. When we are his he hears us always. Just like Jesus said in his prayer to God.
God wants people to believe and to be saved from their sins. That's why God allowed Lazarus to die.
Young people there is no mistake that God teaches us about death in the story of Lazarus. Jesus wants people to know that when we are born again. We become children of God and when we pray he hears us always. He is with us through the heartbreak just like the moon looking like it was crying. God heard Sherry cry.
Father God, I pray you will speak to hearts today. Show people that God wants people to believe and be saved from their sins. That is exactly what happened when Lazarus was raised from the dead. Many Jews were saved. They believe upon Christ as the Son of God. I pray Lord Jesus that people will trust you as Saviour today as they read this lesson. I pray that you will be glorified.
In Jesus name I pray this today. Amen

Willaby was a big pouncy dog with a long-wet dripping tongue that hung about five
inches long. Mom told me to keep him out
of the formal living room where all her valuable gifts from dad were. My dad had died but my mother kept everything
he ever gave her.
Willaby was my best friend. He made my life an
adventure. He would let me dress him up
as a pirate. He would let me dress him
up as a clown. He let me ride on his
back like a horse. He was everywhere I
was. We could communicate with each
other; we knew each other so well. He
couldn’t talk people talk but I could still understand him.
One
day my mom needed to take a trip to the store.
I was doing my homework and my older sister was nearby if I needed any
help. Willaby laid down right beside me
and would look up at me with those big, let’s play, eyes. “Not right now Willaby, I said. I have to get my math done, just a few more
problems.”
Willaby was normally a very well-behaved dog, but he was restless and started running
around the house. “What’s wrong Willaby?” He was wining and biting at his tale. He took off fast from room to room as though
he was running from something. My sister
Teresa, shocked, asked, What’s wrong with Willaby?” He’s lost his mind.” Then it happened, a nightmare, He ran into
the formal living room and broke one of my mother’s most loved dolls. Then he broke a vase that my great grandmother
gave my mother when Dad and Mom got married.
My sister started bawling, “Moms going to be so upset! Dumb Dog!” She knelt down to pick up all the broken
pieces. “This was the one dad got her on
their twenty-third wedding anniversary.”
“I miss him so much!” She
wept. I do too, sis, how are we going to
tell mom?”
I
don’t know my sister sobbed”. I was
crying too and I really did not want to tell mom.
I ran
to my room and found an empty shoebox.
We gathered all the broken pieces and put them in the box. We sat it on the counter, In our
kitchen. “Now what?’ I asked.
My sister said, “Let’s pray.” “I’m afraid to tell mom.” “I know,” I said, she just got back to
normal.” So, we prayed and just sat
there with our tears flowing down our cheeks waiting for mom to walk in the
door.
We
could hear the car pull into the garage.
We could hear our mothers’ keys at the door. I ran to the door to help her with the groceries.
Teresa and Willaby both were there too and
Willaby licked her right on the face. “Hi
Guys, “ “ Thanks for the kiss Willaby, she said as she patted him on the head
and wiped the wetness from her
face. “How are all my sweethearts today?”
She asked with a smile.
“We
feel sad mom,” I said. “What’s wrong? Are you Okay? Did something
happen?”. “ It’s kind of hard to tell
you mom.” said my sister Teresa. “You
tell her Tom.” My sister whispered. “Mom, I’m just going to say it. Willaby was going crazy and ran all over the
house and charged into the formal living room.
He clumsily knocked over your things and they are broken now. “Oh no!” but are you okay and Willaby is he
okay?" “They were the things that dad and
grandma gave you mom.” "We are fine Mom.” "We are concerned about you." She opened the box and looked in at her broken
treasures.
My
mom started weeping and said something I will never forget. She was holding the box in her hand and said, “ Nothing, in this world is as precious to me as you both and Willaby. I know these gifts were from people I love. It’s been a while ago since your dad died. I can’t take any of these things to heaven
with me. Heaven is forever. I have
discovered what is more important in life.
You are and I love you more than anything I own. Even Willaby is more important to me than
anything I have.
I
just want to be sure that when this life is done for me. It would be to know it won’t mean goodbye.
It’s
not a goodbye for me and your dad. I will
see him again and we will hug and hold hands.
I will talk to him again and enjoy his smile. I want you both to know Jesus. Teresa, I want you to get saved.
I
would give up all the precious gifts I have, to know that you know Jesus and
love him. I may live many more years yet
but I want to know when I do that it’s not goodbye. Praise God, I will see your dad again, will
you.? I love you and I have the joy of
Jesus even though I miss your dad. God’s
joy for us is unspeakable in that we can know his presence through our tears. Psalms 30:5
Weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning. We have a joy that can only can be found in Jesus
and our relationship with him. Trusting
him through our sorrows and also through our laughter.
You and Christ are the most important things to me.
"We
love you, mom! forever." "I love you too. mom hugged us" We love you too Willoby! Rough! Rough! "Let’s go play in the leaves!" Mom squealed. "Yes!"" Willaby will love that!" My sister cheered.
Dedicated to a precious friend in heaven today. I know I'll see you again.
I will give you a hug. Love you always.

Then his lord, after that he had called him, said

O thou
wicked servant, I

The Hurt Heart
Let us start our class today by saying the pledge to the
bible. When we say the pledge we are making
a promise to make (God's Word) what guides us in life through not only the best
times of our lives but also the darkest
times in our lives.
In life we have many hurts.
It could be a hurt that is temporary or a hurt that lasts a
lifetime. The hurts that last a lifetime
are the ones that get to the heart. In
the pledge we promise to hide God's Word in our heart. We do this by memorizing and understanding
scripture. The reason we hide God's Word
in our heart is because it is through the heart our choices are made. Our choices are made by either how we feel, our
circumstances or what we want. If we are right with God, they will be made by prayer and what we are taught in scripture first. God knows that the devil wants our heart.
The devil will tempt us at the times we our
most vulnerable, the times our heart has been hurt, at one of the very darkest
points of grief or discouragement. In
these times we must follow what we know is true. in a time of confusion, we can decipher the truth from the fiction of what we are
feeling and also from other people around us.
A couple weeks ago I surprised our church family by entering
the room wearing a sheriff's badge. They all
called me Sheriff Susan. They were all curious about it, but nobody
asked. Then we dismissed to Sunday
School. I told them a story I heard a long time ago. I heard about a police officer that was shot
at while he was on duty. Something kept
him from being killed, something unusual.
The bullet hit his badge. The
badge kept the bullet from hitting his heart.
So I told the kids the true story of how the officer was saved by his
badge. The bible tells us to wear a
shield, it is not a police badge, but is the shield of faith.
We are saved by faith, by taking God at His
word. Being saved by faith is our
protection from belonging to the devil. While living by faith and hiding God's
Word in our hearts is our shield against the fiery darts of the devil.
Now Today:
I mentioned to them about the police officers that were killed
checking out a 911 hang-up call. They
were shot and killed suddenly. My husband knew one of them. They grew up together,
played football together and he attended our very small wedding 31 years ago.
We heard of another shooting which Pastor prayed over this morning. A deadly school shooting in Florida where many died. I think about the coach that blocked the bullets from killing some of the students. I'm sure He was a really big guy - most coaches are. These violent killings happened because of hate, because of anger, because someones heart was being managed by the devil himself. The young men who killed these valiant men and many other innocent people - had something messed up in their hearts. When it's young people doing the shooting, we must talk about it.
In sunday school, I held my bible up
over my heart and said..."Kids, the devil wants your heart and he wants it wounded. I'm not talking about your physical heart. I'm talking about your soul the very being of who you are. He wants you to be bitter. He wants you to
stay angry. People will disappoint us, people could turn there backs on us, people you thought would always be there. but Jesus will never leave you nor forsake you. There may not be anyone to cry to, no one to listen, but Jesus is your comforter, your shield your help in times of trouble. The only defense we have as people against the fiery darts of satan is a Really Big shield. I held the
bible up over my heart and I pounded my hand on the Bible that covered my heart. The Word Of God in our hearts mingled in
faith blocks the fiery darts of the devil.
It won't allow Him to get to your heart.
Make Jesus the Biggest Valentine in your heart. Love the Lord your God with all your heart.
The devil wants us miserable , unhappy and defeated as Christians, but Jesus
tells us we are more than conquerors
through Him that loved us. Jesus is in
every heart that has accepted Him by faith.
God promises to be there for us through our troubles, through our tears.
One of the biggest temptations in time of hurt is to become vengeful,
unforgiving and bitter. It is through
these troubled dark times we must not allow these things to destroy our faith.
It is through these things we must apply the scripture to our heartbreak
and let it heal us by faith.
God teaches us that we have no choice but to forgive because
we ourselves have never once deserved forgiveness. Now there are some things that just cannot go
without circumstances, but God does not want your heart remaining angry, or
bitter. His desire is that you overcome,
by faith, trusting Him through what could be your hardest moments of life.
Jesus gives us a parable in scripture to teach us why we
must forgive:
Read The Memory Verse Again
- Underline the Parts They Need To Memorize
Matthew 18: 21-35
Talk about it as you read it.
Then came Peter to him, and said, Lord, how oft shall my
brother sin against me, and I forgive him? till seven times? Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee,
Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven.
Therefore is the kingdom of heaven likened unto a certain
king, which would take account of his servants.
And when he had begun to reckon, one was brought unto him, which owed
him ten thousand talents. But forasmuch
as he had not to pay, his lord commanded him to be sold, and his wife, and
children, and all that he had, and payment to be made. The servant therefore fell down, and
worshipped him, saying, Lord, have patience with me, and I will pay thee
all. Then the lord of that servant was
moved with compassion, and loosed him, and forgave him the debt.
But the same servant went out, and found one of his
fellowservants, which owed him an hundred pence: and he laid hands on him, and
took him by the throat, saying, Pay me that thou owest. {pence: the Roman penny
is the eighth part of an ounce, which after five shillings the ounce is seven
pence halfpenny; about fourteen cents}
And his fellowservant
fell down at his feet, and besought him, saying, Have patience with me, and I
will pay thee all. And he would not: but
went and cast him into prison, till he should pay the debt. So when his fellowservants saw what was done,
they were very sorry, and came and told unto their lord all that was done.
Then his lord, after that he had called him, said unto him,
O thou wicked servant, I forgave thee all that debt, because thou desiredst me; Shouldest not thou also have had compassion
on thy fellowservant, even as I had pity on thee? And his lord was wroth, and delivered him to
the tormentors, till he should pay all that was due unto him.
So likewise shall my
heavenly Father do also unto you, if yefrom the heartforgive not every one
his brother their trespasses.
Father God, I ask in
the name of your Son, Christ Jesus that you heal our broken hearts this morning, that we may
renew our strength and continue in faith,
which we need to protect our hearts from the fiery darts of Satan. If there are any here rebellious, unbelieving,
wounded or doubting- work the work of
faith in their hearts today and renew a
right spirit within us. That we may
continue to obey you in faith ... heal the hurting. Praise your name for what you will do in our
hearts as we trust you. If there is anyone here that has not trusted Christ as there personal Saviour. Jesus will not refuse anyone who genuinely wants Him to be the Lord of their lives. Christ Jesus died for your sins and arose victorious that you may be forgiven and become his child.
