This writing is about the spiritual warfare inside the heart of a Christian. God gives us the tools through prayer, faith and the Word of God to overcome inside emotions that tempt us to respond wrongly. When we sing the song we could talk about emotions and how we can gain control of them through Christ. We know there's no real monsters on the inside, but this song individualizes the emotions so they could be taught about in the classroom, how to overcome emotions that want to overwhelm us.
