Hooty: Hoot, hand me that egg gently. Hoot: Okay! (Hoot hands it gently… then it slips, rolls down the branch, bounces off a squirrel, and lands in Hooty’s feathers.) Hooty: What’s going on?! Hoot: The egg picked YOU for the hunt.
2. The Branch Bounce
(Hooty steps on a wobbly branch.) Hooty: I think this branch is safe. (Branch drops two inches.) Hooty: I think this branch is NOT safe! Hoot: Uncle Hooty, you bounced like a marshmallow! Hooty: I feel like one too.
3. The Bunny Mix‑Up
(A fluffy bunny hops by.) Hoot: Uncle Hooty! The Easter Bunny is here! Hooty: No, that’s just Mr. Flufferton from next tree over. (Bunny sneezes and falls backward into a basket.) Hooty: Never mind. That’s definitely the Easter Bunny. Hoot: What’s going on?! Hooty: He’s having a very bunny day.
4. The Flying Candy Incident
Hoot: I found candy! Hooty: Don’t throw— (Hoot tosses it. It hits a branch, ricochets, and lands in Hooty’s beak.) Hooty: —it. Hoot: Wow! Trick shot! Hooty: I wasn’t even hungry. (Eats it anyway.)
5. The Egg Hunt Chaos
(Eggs start rolling downhill for no reason.) Hoot: Uncle Hooty! The eggs are escaping! Hooty: Eggs don’t escape— (One rolls between his feet and he slips, spinning in a circle.) Hooty: WHOOOAAAA! Hoot: What’s going on?! Hooty: I think the eggs are winning.
6. The Sunrise Surprise
(They watch the sunrise service.) Hooty: Isn’t this peaceful? (A squirrel sneezes loudly, falls out of a tree, and lands in Hooty’s lap.) Hooty: WHAT is going on?! Squirrel: Allergies. Hoot: Bless you… I think?

Hoot: Uncle Hooty, Easter is crazy! Hooty: Yes… but the best part never changes. Hoot: Jesus is alive! Hooty: Exactly. (They hoot loudly. A chipmunk faints.) Hoot: Oops. Hooty: That’s how you know it was a good hoot.

Ethan Parker was eight years old when the world suddenly felt too big.
After a frightening accident the year before, he had stopped climbing trees, stopped riding his bike, and—most of all—stopped trusting people. Even simple things made his heart race. His parents prayed, waited, and wondered how to help him feel safe again.
One crisp autumn morning in Oregon, Ethan’s mother took him to Pine Hollow Wildlife Rescue, a quiet place tucked between tall fir trees. The center cared for injured animals, and the director, Mrs. Alder, believed that sometimes children healed best when they were helping something smaller than themselves.
Inside a wooden enclosure sat a round, soft-feathered owl with amber eyes.
“This is Hoot,” Mrs. Alder said. “He was found with a broken wing. He’s healing, but he still needs gentle company.”
Ethan stood very still. The owl blinked slowly, tilting his head as if studying the boy’s worried face. Ethan whispered, “Does he… trust people?”
“Not yet,” Mrs. Alder replied. “But he’s learning. Maybe you two can learn together.”
Day after day, Ethan returned. He sat quietly near Hoot’s perch, reading books aloud or humming little tunes. Hoot never rushed toward him, never startled him, never asked for more than Ethan could give. The owl’s calmness wrapped around the boy like a warm blanket.
One afternoon, as golden leaves drifted down, something changed.
Ethan held out his hand—not close, just near enough to show he wasn’t afraid. Hoot shuffled forward, paused, then gently brushed Ethan’s fingers with the soft edge of his wing.
Ethan gasped. “He touched me!”
Mrs. Alder smiled. “He trusts you.”
But Ethan shook his head. “No… I trusted him first.”
From that day on, Ethan blossomed. He fed Hoot small bits of food, helped clean the enclosure, and even talked about his fears. Hoot listened with those deep, steady eyes, never judging, never hurrying.
One snowy morning, Ethan told his mom, “If God can help a scared owl heal… maybe He can help me too.”
She hugged him tightly. “He already is.”
And Ethan believed it.
Because sometimes God sends help with feathers.

Hooty the Owl was warned as a tiny owl to avoid the dark alley of doom. The dark alley of doom is known for it's large population of fat cats. The fat cats feast on the leftovers from the "Fish and Fritters Restaurant". located just between "Beer and Bites" and "Ludy Books". The dumpsters are full of nasty snails which owls love to eat. Every now and then Hooty dreams of the giant sized snails, which owls find tasty. They are a temptation for every bird from near and far. He was told as a very young owl "you must not join in with the other birds. His parents told Him of the deaths of many a bird.. that did not listen to wise advice. They died a terrifying death in the paws of ravenous cats who's fondest dreams came true.
Hooty has found himself in somewhat of a dilemma, his long time friend has invited him to a tempting night of adventure to the dark alley of doom. He knows if he tells them no, he's going to look like a chicken and no owl likes looking like a chicken. He also knows that if he accepts the invitation, he will disobey everything he's been taught by his dear departed parents, who loved him more than anyone else. What do you think Hooty should do - fall for a nice juicy snail and the adventure of it all? or use wisdom to guide his decision even if it means loosing his friend and looking like a chicken? - leave time for answers....
Now in real life we know....
God has given us great wisdom to draw from His Word. Wisdom helps us know how to please God and also teaches how to stay strong in the Lord. God has instructed us in His Word to hide His Word in our hearts that we would not sin against Him. God's desire for us is for us to also surround ourselves with people who love God and also want to please God with their choices. When we do this we protect ourselves from falling. We are living in a slippery world that is down right cold and dangerously icy.
Usually when you go somewhere you either go with friends or
family. If you are not going with them -
then where you are going is where people are.
God tells us to be wise in our goings.
Why does He tell us to be wise where our feet take us?
When we are not careful where we step we sometimes will trip
or slip. Then is when we come tumbling
down and could become injured physically.
Not too long ago, while on vacation, my eldest daughter was going down
some steps. It was dark outside and she
could barely see. Something caught her
toe as she was going down some dangerous
uneven steps. She had a terrible fall and severely broke
her leg. She could have been killed in
the fall. That's how serious a fall it was.
In life we take steps into the right direction or into the
wrong direction. Just know that whatever
direction we take as a Christians should be thought about before taking the
first step.
God wants us to be careful about what friends we choose in
life. As Christians we should choose
friends that will help us obey God and grow in the Lord. People who are wise fear the Lord. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of
wisdom. When we choose people as friends
we need to know they have a healthy fear of God. How do we know they have a fear of God? If what God wants is more important than what
we want, we know we have a healthy fear
of God. God should be our first priority
in life.
It used to be, years ago, if a boy or girl liked each other
they would start (what they called)going together. When someone asked you " Who are you
going with?" they were asking you who your boyfriend was., or girlfriend
was.

is included in this lesson for today.
God has plans for us as His children and our first priority is to make what God wants first.
We do that by loving His Word and obeying it.
When
we go somewhere we most likely will be riding in a car to get us there. All along the way we see signs. The stop sign, the yield sign, the go sign
and numerous other signs that keep us safe as we travel from one place to
another.
Solomon taught his children with all of these same principles but
in different words.
You can plan and discuss these things as you teach them.
1. Do not go with gangs - don't gang up to do harm to
others. Stop Sign

3. Do not go to places that will harm your life and
heart. Stop Sign
4. Do not go anywhere that will lead your life in the

you are faced with temptation to do something wrong. Stop And Pray. Yield And Kneel. Know When To Go. Know When To Stay. Ask God's Direction. At Night And At Day. God Will Lead You. Along Life's Way.
Make A List Of Possible Good and Bad Situations For Youth. Read Them To The Class And Ask Them To Choose The Sign That Should Be Posted In That Situation.
