Growing Plants for the First Time

 Growing Plants for the First Time

Our two little grandchildren had, each, a pack of seeds.  In one there were the snapdragon seeds and carrots in the other.   My granddaughter and grandson came to me and sweetly asked me if they could plant some flower seeds in my garden.  They bought some seed packets already and proceeded to show me what they wanted to grow.  We planned a special day for planting seeds and learning about other plants.
   Soon it was time for our special day.  I found two pots that already had dirt in them, but I didn't want to use just any dirt for the carrots so I found a sack of potting soil for flowers and vegetables. The potting soil was wet from being out in the rain so it didn't pour out easily.  It came out in clumps so we had a bit of a mess, but it was fun. We read over the instructions on the back of the packets and followed the instructions except we started a little late in the season for carrots but we decided to go ahead and give it a try.
   Well, yesterday I noticed both pots have seedlings popping up.  The carrots only have a few sprouts but the snapdragon seeds are popping up like crazy.  I sent pictures to my grandchildren this morning and they are very excited about growing their own plants.  Hopefully, the plants make it all the way to maturity
   Here are the pictures so far.  This is also a time of learning for me because I have never grown carrots, I hope it turns out well and we get to eat some yummy carrots.

Growing In Jesus Craft

Growing In Jesus Craft
A Gift For Mother

This could be an ongoing activity until the children fill their pot full of flowers,  or it could be one lesson that goes over all the points- one at a time as they fill their flower pot.
If you are using it for one lesson they should have all 8 flowers in their pot by the end of class.

You will have to premake part of this craft for young children.
That's what I'm doing.  This also could be a centerpiece.  If you needed
something for decorations in a classroom.

You'll Need The Following Materials:

1. 8 Craft sticks per pot preferably colored ones. ( For Stems)
If you are short on money cut them from cardboard.
The memory verse slip is the pattern for the stems.

2. You'll need variegated cardboard.  Or a cardboard box. Make the bases
by using the yellow rectangle as a pattern.

3.One toilet paper roll pot
per child.

4. Printed out patterns and pieces.

5. Scissors

6. Glue Sticks

7. Scotch Tape

8. Hot glue  (for you to make the flower pots ahead)
9, Plastic ziplock bags.

You'll need cardboard.

Use one of the yellow cut-outs below as a pattern
for the pot support base. Make enough for your class.

Glue the toilet paper roll onto the base.

I printed this all on regular paper, not cardstock.

Teach some on each point.  There are many things to talk about
under these categories.  An example would be love, what category does that fall under?
Love is the underlying factor of all these points.
This could be a nice "Mothers Day Gift". I'm sure she will love it.

The circles above need to be cut out and glued onto the back of the craft stick,
behind the flower. If you do not want to cut out the circles then just cut them into squares.    The smaller children just have to glue the flowers on the craft sticks and the circle themes on the back behind the flowers.  They should have eight flowers done.
Adjust this craft according to the ages you teach.  Have everything made, but not the part that they are going to do.

8 points of how we should speak.

No attribution is required for the item above.
you may not use this for any other purpose.
Print Only!  These sheets are the size of regular printing paper.
Do what you need to do to make the prints for this project.

There are seven flowers here but you can use the
butterfly to glue onto the last craft stick.
Use a glue stick.

One sheet of the above for each child.
Cut Them Out Ahead Of Time.

Write the name of each child on the base of their project. Then
place all pieces and parts of their craft projects into a plastic ziplock bag.

Cut out enough yellow rectangles for each pot
fold it in half and outline a half-circle.
Then cut out the half on the fold.
Open it up and fit it over the top
and slide it down. Then glue it to the cardboard base evenly.

Yellow rectangles for base
Above:
Print out and cut out enough labels and verses for your class.

I will post a picture of the completed project soon.
This will be the model for my class.

Make a model for your kids to look at while they do their craft.
I glued and taped the memory verse onto the tube.

Glue the label on

I used the leaves on and slightly behind the flowers.
The memory verse can be used as a pattern to cut out your stems.
The cardboard stems can be used as stems for your flowers and also the backing of your memory verse.
As you can see the flowers can be arranged to look lovely on
the table.   It also can be used as a teaching tool
before you actually have the kids make one themselves.

You could just put the yellow paper on first.
Which I probably should have done.

Glue Stick and tape on the memory verse.
Underline the memory portion for the small children to learn.

Keep in mind when the verse says every man - It is referring to mankind.
Which would mean every person.

glue stick for everything here.

It can be arranged in different ways

This design could be used for Easter just by putting Easter-related points onto the egg circles.

This could be used for a ladies' meeting as well.
The proverbs woman, ----- in her tongue is the law of kindness.
Proverbs 31.

Springtime's Joy

Springtime's Joy

Everywhere we look spring has come alive;
Periwinkle, daffodils, hastas growing on the hill.
Many flowers blooming and bees are zooming.
Cause spring has sprung, while all natures sings, bringing forth its young.

There's no doubt that God has put love into springtime;
Springtime is like a new beginning that has come alive.
Just like the hope that has grown within my heart;
Just like the sunshine of His Word can cause much faith to thrive.

When we grow in grace, we grow to be like Him.
When we grow in Jesus, into his power and his might.
The more seeds we sow, the more in Him we'll grow;
Growing forth in his goodness and mercy within his light.

Chorus

 Marvelous are the blooms of springtime's joy;
Just like the joy of Jesus blessing our hearts as we pray.
The joy of Jesus shines when we praise him.
The joy of the Lord is our strength, as we trust Him each day.
as we trust Him each day.

The joy of Jesus, The joy of Jesus, The joy of Jesus
As we trust Him each day.

Get Ready Get Set Let's Grow

Get Ready Get Set Let's Grow

Get ready get set let's grow;
Grow in Jesus, grow in his light.
Grow in His grace, grow each day;
Grow in standing for what is right.

Growing strong and courageous;
Growing in His love that's fearless.
Growing faithful in His grace;
As we grow closer to Jesus.

Growing to be more like Him;
Grow smarter every day.
Growing in His righteousness;
As we learn to pray and obey.

Growing roots that dig down deep;
Growing in faith, living in truth.
Grow in Jesus, and joyfulness;
Growing into His will for you.
--------

Get ready get set let's grow;
Grow in Jesus, grow in his light.
Grow in His grace, grow each day;
Grow in standing for what is right.

Growing roots that dig down deep;
Growing in faith, living in truth.
Grow in Jesus, and joyfulness;
Growing into His will for you.

 Ephesians  4:15
But speaking the truth in love,
may grow up into him in all things,
which is the head, even Christ:

Welcome Fall - For Program

Welcome Fall

The Wind Is blowing, leaves are flowing to the ground today;
Endless seemingly  the leaves in the trees gently sway.
Like blessings  everywhere  that cannot be numbered at all;
Come join us today, to thank and to praise God for the fall.
Oh, how miraculous  the handy works of God's Creation..
Memorable the blessings of autumn's visitation.
Early let us rise to praise the Lord for harvest provision;
His hands have formed all things with love and precision.

For his mercy and kindness has been more than generous;
Apples, pumpkins, corn stalks tall, harvest gathered plenteous;
Little one's skip around gathering  the acorns and leaves;
As they Learn, some blessings, grow like a tree, starting with
a single seed.
