If I Could Give You Blessings

 If I Could Give You Blessings

If I could give you blessings, I’d slip them in your shoes— Soft steps of mercy for the roads you didn’t choose. I’d stitch them in your pockets, where your trembling fingers hide, So when you reach for courage, you’ll find grace tucked inside.

I’d pour them in your coffee cup, warm and honey-sweet, To stir your weary mornings with a joy that tastes complete. I’d braid them through your laughter, so even when you cry, A thread of holy comfort would glisten in your sky.

I’d plant them in your garden, where the quiet prayers grow wild, With blooms of understanding for the inner, aching child. I’d write them on your windowsill in sunlight’s golden ink, So every time you look outside, you’ll pause and stop to think—

That you are not forgotten, not forsaken, not alone. That heaven sends its whispers in the softest undertone. And if I could give you blessings, I’d give you this today: The knowing that you’re cherished in a thousand quiet ways.

A Basket of Blessings From My Heart to Yours

📖 Opening Scripture (KJV)

Luke 6:38 Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom.

 Devotion: A Basket of Blessings From My Heart to Yours

If I could hand you something today, it wouldn’t be wrapped in ribbon or hidden in tissue—it would be a basket. Not just any basket, but one woven with prayer, lined with grace, and filled with blessings gathered from the garden of God’s goodness. It would be soft with mercy, fragrant with hope, and overflowing with joy.

Inside, you’d find peace for your anxious thoughts—like lavender tucked between pages of scripture. You’d find courage, shaped like a warm loaf of bread, ready to nourish your weary soul. You’d find laughter, like sunbeams caught in a jar, and forgiveness folded like a quilt stitched with second chances.

This basket isn’t mine alone—it’s passed from heart to heart, from one redeemed soul to another. Because when God blesses us, it’s never meant to be hoarded. His gifts multiply when shared. The more we pour out, the more He pours in. That’s the miracle of grace: it never runs dry.

But sometimes we forget. We clutch our baskets tight, afraid there won’t be enough. We compare our blessings to others’ baskets and miss the beauty of our own. Yet God gently reminds us: “Child, I am the source. I am the giver. I am the overflow.” And when we open our hands, we find they were never empty.

So today, I offer you this basket—not because I’m perfect, but because I’ve been blessed. And tucked inside is the greatest gift of all: the invitation to know the Giver Himself. His name is Jesus. He doesn’t just fill baskets—He fills hearts. He doesn’t just bless—He saves.

To receive Him, it’s as simple and sacred as ABC:

  • Admit you are a sinner in need of grace (Romans 3:23)

  • Believe that Jesus died and rose again for you (Romans 10:9)

  • Confess Him as Lord and call on His name (Romans 10:13)

That’s the beginning of a life where your basket never empties—because it’s held by nail-scarred hands that never let go.

So from my heart to yours, take this blessing. Let it remind you that you are loved, chosen, and invited into a story of eternal abundance.

💡 Tip of the Day

Write down three blessings you’ve received this week—then share one with someone else. Blessings grow best when planted in others.

📖 Scripture Recommendation

  • James 1:17Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above…

  • Psalm 103:2Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits…

  • Philippians 4:19But my God shall supply all your need…

🙏 Matching Prayer

Dear Lord, thank You for the basket of blessings You’ve placed in my life. Help me to see them, savor them, and share them. I admit my need for You, believe in Your saving love, and confess You as my Savior. Fill my heart with Your joy, my hands with Your grace, and my life with Your purpose. May I be a blessing to others, just as You have been to me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Poem/Song: When I Rejoice It's Because

Coloring Page and Devotion

When I Rejoice, It’s Because…

When I rejoice, it’s because The morning came again— Sunbeams spread across my floor Like mercy without end.

When I rejoice, it’s because The sparrow found her song, And even in the silence, I knew where I belong.

When I rejoice, it’s because The hurt did not define me, And grace, like gentle rain, Chose once more to remind me.

When I rejoice, it’s because The prayer I whispered low Was heard by One who answers In ways I’ll never know.

When I rejoice, it’s because I am redeemed of God. My tears watered my garden, He sent me a sunbeam.

When I rejoice, it’s because The broken things renew, God lovingly holds and heals, Abundant blessings not few.

When I rejoice, it’s because My heart, though worn, believes. He Strengthens with kindness— And weaves within me peace.

When I rejoice, it’s because I live, I’m loved, I’m saved. I am found, I’m heaven-bound. Gloriously in His ways.

Psalm 119:14 I have rejoiced in the way of thy testimonies, as much as in all riches.

🌸 Devotion: Rejoicing in His Ways

Rejoicing isn’t just a response—it’s a rhythm. It’s the soul’s way of dancing when the world says “sit still.” And when we rejoice in His ways, we’re not celebrating ease or comfort—we’re celebrating alignment. We’re saying, “Lord, Your path is better than my plan. Your truth is richer than my treasure.”

His ways are not always paved with petals. Sometimes they wind through wilderness, pause in waiting rooms, or echo in empty places. But even there, we rejoice—not because the road is smooth, but because the Guide is faithful. His testimonies are the trail markers that remind us: we’re not lost, we’re led.

To rejoice in His ways is to find delight in discipline, beauty in boundaries, and peace in purpose. It’s realizing that obedience isn’t a burden—it’s a blessing. Like a child who learns to walk by holding a parent’s hand, we find joy not in the steps, but in the One who steadies us.

And oh, how clever His ways are. He hides healing in hardship. He tucks wisdom into waiting. He wraps grace around grief. His ways are layered like honeycomb—sweet, structured, and strong. When we pause to notice, we find ourselves whispering, “This is better than I imagined.”

Rejoicing in His ways means we stop measuring life by outcomes and start measuring it by obedience. It’s not about what we gain—it’s about who we become. And every time we choose His way over our own, we grow a little more into the image of the One who walked it first.

So today, rejoice. Not because everything makes sense, but because His ways are good. Rejoice like a daisy in sunlight, like a sparrow in song, like a heart that knows it’s held. Rejoice because you’re walking with Him—and that, dear soul, is the richest thing of all.

Because when we rejoice in His ways, we’re not just walking—we’re worshiping.

💡 Tip of the Day

When faced with a decision, ask: “Which choice reflects His character?” Rejoicing begins when our steps mirror His heart.

📖 Scripture Recommendation

  • Isaiah 55:9For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways…

  • Proverbs 3:6In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

  • Psalm 37:23The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord…

🙏 Matching Prayer

Lord, teach me to rejoice in Your ways—even when they stretch me, surprise me, or slow me down. Let my heart delight in Your testimonies, and my steps follow Your truth. Fill me with joy that doesn’t depend on circumstance, but on closeness to You. May I walk with wonder, obey with gladness, and trust with peace. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Jesus Help Me

Lamentations 3:21-26

 This I recall to my mind, therefore have I hope.  It is of the LORD'S mercies that we are not consumed because his compassions fail not.

 They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.

 The LORD is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him.

 The LORD is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him.

 It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the LORD.

A New Years Resolution: Remember God's Mercy

Kindergarten 2 - Primary - Coloring Activity - Teen Lesson

2021 Is Gone

I asked my daughter to do a 10-minute object lesson for our class.  She brought last year’s calendar.  She had each day marked with an X which marked that day for her daily devotion.  She shared with our class how she had completed her devotion goals each day all year except for one week in the whole year.  She continued to teach them how important it is to do devotions with God each day.  She was able to teach them that the calendar that they were looking at was now in the past.   She showed each of them their birthdays.  She explained that their birthdays for 2021 were now in the past and now we look forward to a new year.

She said everything she did wrong in 2021 is now in the past.  When we know Jesus as our Saviour, confess our sins to him, then our sins are forgiven and are in the past.  She ripped up the 2021 calendar suddenly.  The class reacted to it.  They had mixed emotions like “Why did you do that?" My daughter threw the 2021 calendar into the trash can.   When we are forgiven God forgets those sins and they are gone.  Just like 2021 is gone and in the past.  We can not change what we did or didn’t do in 2021, but we can make plans to make changes in our lives in 2022.

A New Years' resolution is being determined with God’s help to make life-changing goals that will change our lives for the better.  You can make a New Year's resolution yourself.   What kind of goals would you like to make for 2022?  If you do not know Christ Jesus as your Saviour today would be a perfect day to make that decision.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

When we are God's child, He is perfecting us in Jesus.

He's always working on us.  He wants us to be more like him

in how we behave and the choices we make.

A New Years Resolution

Remember God's Mercy

The one thing that makes the New Year very special is that it encourages people to make choices that will better their lives.  It’s a day to say to yourself.  “I will go on, I will go forward, I will be better.”

Do not allow circumstances to make us feel fearful.  God is real and God is in control.   With every New Year, there is a new beginning, a new renewed hope for the future.  A time to let God lead you into some important decisions.  How can I be a better person this new year?   Ask God what it is that you need to change?

Maybe God wants us to be more obedient to those that God has put over us.  God does not want us to have a rebellious spirit.  We should repent of anything we are doing that God does not want us to do.  When we become willing to become what God wants us to be we become happier and more joyful.

If there is anything in our hearts such as unforgiveness towards other people, then God will not forgive us.  God wants us to give that to him and show mercy as he has shown mercy.  We must be humble enough to say we are sorry.  If we are harboring bitterness in our hearts then God says he will not hear our prayers. We also must be humble enough to forgive as he has forgiven us.

We can make a promise to God to do better with our eating habits and exercising regularly.  Make a goal of eating less junk food.

Maybe we need to be kinder to our brother or sister.

Let’s make a commitment to follow God in God’s way and start our new year with a clean slate.

A New Year can bring new life to anyone who wants to make a commitment to God.  Maybe we have turned away from God, in some way, in some attitude.  God will gladly take your hand if you reach out to him.  He will not refuse us if we are truly repentant.  “His mercy endureth forever” is repeatedly said in the Psalms – mostly in Psalms 136 over and over and over.  It must be something we need to hear again and again.  God will not hold back his mercy if we turn back to him. The question is will you believe what he says?  His mercy sent Jesus for me and for you.  The Bible teaches us God’s motive.  His motive is because he loves us.

Vain repetition is when there is no heart behind what you say or what you sing over and over again.

Sometimes people need to hear things repeatedly before they sink into our hearts.  Remember Peter, God asked Peter three times “do you love me?”   I know one thing God loves you… do you love him?

If we love God we will do what he commands us to do.  Like reading our Bible's, confessing our sins in prayer, and living our lives in a way that pleases him.

Some people ask how can God forgive me?   God is merciful and God's Word says it repeatedly. It also says "Give thanks unto the Lord, repeatedly.  3X at the beginning and also at the end of Psalms 136.

I'm going to briefly talk about some of the verses from Psalm 136 as time allows.

Psalms 136:1- 26 and 138: 8

1. O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.

2. O give thanks unto the God of gods: for his mercy endureth for ever

 3. O give thanks to the Lord of lords: for his mercy endureth for ever.

 4. To him who alone doeth great wonders: for his mercy endureth for ever.

 5. To him that by wisdom made the heavens: for his mercy endureth for ever.

 6. To him that stretched out the earth above the waters: for his mercy endureth for ever.

7. To him that made great lights: for his mercy endureth for ever:

8. The sun to rule by day: for his mercy endureth for ever:

9. The moon and stars to rule by night: for his mercy endureth for ever.

10. To him that smote Egypt in their firstborn: for his mercy endureth for ever:

11. And brought out Israel from among them: for his mercy endureth for ever:

12. With a strong hand, and with a stretched out arm: for his mercy endureth for ever.

13. To him which divided the Red sea into parts: for his mercy endureth for ever:

Ps 136:14 And made Israel to pass through the midst of it: for his mercy endureth for ever:

Ps 15. But overthrew Pharaoh and his host in the Red sea: for his mercy endureth for ever.

 Ps 136:16 To him which led his people through the wilderness: for his mercy endureth for ever.

 Ps 136:17 To him which smote great kings: for his mercy endureth for ever:

 Ps 136:18 And slew famous kings: for his mercy endureth for ever:

 Ps 136:19 Sihon king of the Amorites: for his mercy endureth for ever:

 Ps 136:20 And Og the king of Bashan: for his mercy endureth for ever:

 Ps 136:21 And gave their land for an heritage: for his mercy endureth for ever:

 Ps 136:22 Even an heritage unto Israel his servant: for his mercy endureth for ever.

 Ps 136:23 ¶ Who remembered us in our low estate: for his mercy endureth for ever:

 Ps 136:24 And hath redeemed us from our enemies: for his mercy endureth for ever.

 Ps 136:25 Who giveth food to all flesh: for his mercy endureth for ever.

 Ps 136:26 O give thanks unto the God of heaven: for his mercy endureth for ever.

 Psalms 138:8

The LORD will perfect that which concerneth me: thy mercy, O LORD, endureth for ever: forsake not the works of thine own hands.

If we love God, He will not forsake the works of our hands.  He will not forget our labor of love. God will not abandon us as we ask his direction and also work to live out his purpose for our lives.

We are not saved by what we do.  Though God wants us most definitely to do good works, we are called, to do good works.  We will do good works because we are saved and love God.  He will perfect us and lead us into his will when we are committed to following him.  Make Him the most important goal of your life and of this new year.

Let us remember his mercy towards us, let us repent and turn back to God.  Let us renew our confidence in God and believe he is a rewarder of those who diligently seek him.

Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

Let's not forget to start this new year with God and continue to include God in everything every day and all year.  We do this by keeping our hearts where they need to be.

 Memory Verse:

Psalms 138:8 a The LORD will perfect that which concerneth me: thy mercy, O LORD, endureth for ever: forsake not the works of thine own hands.

Dear Father, I pray in the name of your dear Son, Jesus.  Be with each one here today and help them see you are the most important thing in their lives.  Help each one of us know what we need to change in our lives to be better people and healthier people for you.  Lead us in those decisions for the New Year.  If anyone here does not know you as Saviour and needs to be saved.  I pray you will speak to their hearts today and open their understanding.  Thank -you Lord for your goodness and mercy towards us.   Amen

10 Healed Leper Beginners and Up

Sing To The Song 10 Little Indians

Follow the link just below to listen to another song, with audio.

Luke 17:12-19
And as he entered into a certain village, there met him ten men that were lepers, which stood afar off:
 And they lifted up their voices, and said, Jesus, Master, have mercy on us.
 And when he saw them, he said unto them, Go shew yourselves unto the priests. And it came to pass, that, as they went, they were cleansed.
 And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, and with a loud voice glorified God,
  And fell down on his face at his feet, giving him thanks: and he was a Samaritan.
 And Jesus answering said, Were there not ten cleansed? but where are the nine?
There are not found that returned to give glory to God, save this stranger.
 And he said unto him, Arise, go thy way: thy faith hath made thee whole.

Game:

The game that I used to review the 10 Lepers was probably a better game to go with "David and Goliath."
I'll leave it up to you whether you want to use it for "David and Goliath" or "The Ten Lepers".  Even so, my granddaughter loved it.  I used a container that has a large opening to throw a ball into.  We were using a very small football.  There were two rules, do not peak and do not cheat. The questions were all about the Ten Lepers Story. I place 10 smooth stones that were 4 to 5 inches around and 1 inch or more high. They were very smooth stones.  These stones were a secret till the very end of the game. I told them there would be a prize at the end of the game if they did well on the review game.  They loved the stones.  They each got one.  They were bigger than their hands.  They were told not to throw them.  We did talk a little about David and Goliath while they were coloring them.  After church, they went to show everyone their stone. They loved it.

Review Questions:

How many lepers were there in our bible story today?
How many lepers were healed?
The lepers asked Jesus for something - what?
Did they have a cure for leprosy in bible days?
Who was their only hope?
What would have happened to the lepers if Jesus did not show up?
Who did Jesus tell the lepers to go see?
How did the lepers talk to Jesus and Jesus to the lepers?
What does contagious mean?
What happed to the lepers as they were going to see the Priest?
How many came back to thank Jesus?
Jesus told the leper He was healed by his ________ what?
Were these lepers all men or all women?
Leprosy reminds us of what?
Jesus is the hope of our ... what?   (salvation)

Name one of the things mentioned in our lesson
that reminds us of leprosy.

Springtime's Joy

Springtime's Joy

Everywhere we look spring has come alive;
Periwinkle, daffodils, hastas growing on the hill.
Many flowers blooming and bees are zooming.
Cause spring has sprung, while all natures sings, bringing forth its young.

There's no doubt that God has put love into springtime;
Springtime is like a new beginning that has come alive.
Just like the hope that has grown within my heart;
Just like the sunshine of His Word can cause much faith to thrive.

When we grow in grace, we grow to be like Him.
When we grow in Jesus, into his power and his might.
The more seeds we sow, the more in Him we'll grow;
Growing forth in his goodness and mercy within his light.

Chorus

 Marvelous are the blooms of springtime's joy;
Just like the joy of Jesus blessing our hearts as we pray.
The joy of Jesus shines when we praise him.
The joy of the Lord is our strength, as we trust Him each day.
as we trust Him each day.

The joy of Jesus, The joy of Jesus, The joy of Jesus
As we trust Him each day.

What Kind Of Apples - updated

What Kind Of Apples

If you were a tree;
of apples so bold;
What kind of apples;
would your tree limbs hold?

Would they be bitter;
Or would they be sweet?
Would your apples provide;
A nutritious treat?

Apples of goodness;
Filled with God's mercy?
Apples of pardon;
Grace for the thirsty?

In Jesus our tree;
Can bare joy divine.
Through trouble and trial;
Our Jesus would shine.

Apples of patience;
Longsuffering too.
What kind of apples;
Are falling from you?

Crab apples are green;
And bitter to eat.
Some apples are rotten;
and lay at ones feet.

A fruit bearing tree;
In Jesus I'm told.
Will bare sweet apples;
Sweet apples of gold.

Like honey they yield;
Providing the world.
With apples of goodness;
Produced by our Lord.

If you were a tree;
of apples so bold;
What kind of apples;
would your tree limbs hold?

Galatians 5:22-23
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering,
gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance:
against such there is no law.

God Is Calling

God Is Calling

God is calling out His warriors,
Calling now, for girls and boys
Who will carry forth the banner
Who can stand the battle noise;
And He wants the noble ~ gentle;
Wants the purest and the brave ~
So set your goals up higher!
You can ride the greatest wave!
Tho you walk thru din and rubbish
You can be above reproach ~
If you keep your council constant
If you listen to your Coach!
He needs those to call “Prince Valiant”
Needs a “Joan of Arc” or two;
Have you thought, my little children
That He might be calling you?
You may see the vulgar gesture, but
You do not do the same;
You may hear the slimy story but
It shall not bear your name;
For you keep your bridle anchored
On your tongue and rule your life!
And you’ll never spit the words out
That can only bring out strife.
God is calling oh, so softly, so
Don’t turn the music loud ~
When He speaks you’ll hear His whisper
Even if you’re in a crowd.
He’s the Master of all Masters ~
Full of mercy, love and grace;
When you’ve waged the war of ages
You shall see Him face to face!

Ephesians 4:15 “...lest I become a castaway...”
“Be ye perfect....for I am...perfect.”
