π️ In Our Story Today… “The Three Gates of the Heart”
(Imagine the sound of gentle music fading in — a forest breeze, a few birds singing, then a calm, steady voice begins.)
“In our story today,” the announcer says, “we’re stepping into a world that looks a lot like ours — full of choices, voices, and moments that shape who we become.”
Picture three gates standing in the heart of every person: the Eye Gate, the Ear Gate, and the Mouth Gate.
Each one opens and closes every day — not with hinges, but with decisions.
1. The Eye Gate
What we look at becomes what we think about.
When we fill our eyes with things that are pure, kind, and true, our hearts grow strong.
But when we stare at things that stir anger, jealousy, or sin, the heart begins to cloud.
The Bible says, “I will set no wicked thing before mine eyes.” (Psalm 101:3)
Guard your eyes — because what you see today can shape who you’ll be tomorrow.
2. The Ear Gate
Every voice we listen to plants a seed.
Some voices build faith; others feed fear.
The world shouts many messages — but God whispers truth.
Listen for His voice in Scripture, in prayer, and in the quiet moments when your heart feels tugged toward what’s right.
“Faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” (Romans 10:17)
3. The Mouth Gate
Words are powerful.
They can heal or harm, bless or break.
Every time we speak, we open a gate that lets light or darkness flow.
Ask yourself: Do my words sound like Jesus would speak if He were standing beside me?
“A soft answer turneth away wrath.” (Proverbs 15:1)
4. The Battle for the Heart
Evil doesn’t always roar — sometimes it whispers.
It tempts through screens, songs, and careless talk.
But love, real love, stands guard.
When we let Christ rule our hearts, He becomes the Keeper of the Gates.
He helps us see with compassion, listen with discernment, and speak with grace.
5. Living It Out
Each morning, before you rush into the day, pray:
“Lord, guard my eyes, my ears, and my mouth.
Keep my heart clean and my words kind.”
Then watch how peace begins to follow you — in your friendships, your choices, and your thoughts.
π¬ A Beautiful Quote from the Heart
“The purest love is the love that guards —
guarding what it sees, what it hears, and what it speaks —
so that the heart may stay a home for God.”
π Bible Reading Suggestion (KJV)
Read Proverbs 4:20–27 —
“Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.”
Let those verses remind you that guarding your heart isn’t about fear — it’s about love that protects what is precious.
