Fight Right - Song

🎵 Fight Right — Joyful Song

Verse 1

When the world says quit, I’ll stand and fight, Not with fists, but faith and light. I’ll lift my Bible, strong and true, God’s Word will tell me what to do!

Chorus

Fight Right! — with prayer and praise, Fight Right! — through all my days. Not with anger, not with pride, But with Jesus by my side! Fight Right! — the good fight of faith, Fight Right! — and run my race. I’ll keep my heart, my mind, my sight — With Jesus’ strength, I’ll Fight Right!

Verse 2

Temptations come, they shout and roar, But I’ll trust Christ forevermore. I’ll guard my heart, my mind, my way, And walk with Him both night and day.

Bridge

Put on the armor — truth and peace, Faith and love that never cease. Lift the shield, the sword, the light, Stand for Jesus — Fight Right!

Final Chorus

Fight Right! — with prayer and praise, Fight Right! — through all my days. Not with anger, not with pride, But with Jesus by my side! Fight Right! — the good fight of faith, Fight Right! — and run my race. I’ll keep my heart, my mind, my sight — With Jesus’ strength, I’ll Fight Right!

Verse 3

I'll put salvation on my head,
And trust the precious words God said.
His saving grace will guide me through,
And help me know what's right and true.

When doubts and worries fill my mind,
God's promises are strong and kind.
His peace will guard my thoughts each night,
And help me always fight right.

Here is a teen‑focused football devotion  Guard Your Heart

🏈 Devotion for Teens: Guard Your Heart — On the Field and Off

Scripture:

“Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.”
— Proverbs 4:23 (KJV)

The Field Is Loud — So Is Life

The stadium is buzzing. Helmets clash. Coaches shout. The pressure is real.
But before any play can succeed, something crucial has to happen:

The guards take their position.

They’re not the ones scoring touchdowns.
They’re not the ones getting interviews.
But they are the ones who protect the mission.

Without guards, the quarterback gets crushed.
Without guards, the play falls apart.
Without guards, the team loses ground.

God says your heart is like that quarterback — valuable, targeted, and worth protecting.

🛡️ What Football Guards Do — And What You Must Do

1. Guards block what doesn’t belong.

They stop anything trying to break through.
You must block out:

  • toxic voices
  • destructive habits
  • negative influences
  • lies about who you are

If you don’t guard your heart, the enemy will rush in.

2. Guards stay low, steady, and ready.

They don’t stand tall and distracted.
They stay focused and grounded.

You guard your heart by:

  • staying rooted in Scripture
  • praying even when life is busy
  • choosing friends who strengthen your faith

A guarded heart is a steady heart.

3. Guards protect the play.

They know the goal.
They fight for it.
They don’t let anything stop the mission.

You protect God’s purpose for your life by:

  • choosing purity
  • choosing honesty
  • choosing courage
  • choosing Christ

Your purpose is too important to leave unguarded.

4. Guards work as a team.

No one guards alone.
You need teammates who love Jesus and push you toward Him.

Find people who:

  • pray with you
  • challenge you
  • encourage you
  • hold you accountable

A guarded heart is a connected heart.

🏆 The Real Victory

In football, the scoreboard shows who won the game.
In life, the scoreboard is your:

  • character
  • choices
  • integrity
  • relationship with Christ

A guarded heart leads to:

  • wiser decisions
  • stronger friendships
  • clearer thinking
  • deeper faith

That’s the kind of victory that lasts long after the season ends.

❤️ Quote from the Heart

“A champion isn’t just strong on the field — they’re strong in the heart.”

📖 Bible Reading for the Week

Read Ephesians 6:10–18 — The Armor of God
It’s your spiritual playbook for guarding your heart.

🌾 Melvin’s Singing Lessons

🌾 Melvin’s Singing Lessons

©2026 Susan Barker Nikitenko — All Rights Reserved

Melvin the donkey with a BIG voice. When he brayed, the barn doors rattled, the chickens scattered, and the windmill spun a little faster. Melvina, his sweet wife, had a soft, beautiful voice that floated like sunshine across Peacefield Farm.

One bright morning, Melvina said, “Melvin, dear, let’s practice your singing.”

Then Melvin let out a note so LOUD that:

  • Clara‑Belle the Cow dropped her hay
  • Percy the Pig dove into the mud
  • Hattie the Hen laid an egg
  • Mr. Whiskerford the Cat fainted (dramatically)

Melvina blinked, her bow fluttering. “Well… that was strong, Melvin.”

Clara‑Belle trotted over, ears ringing. “Mercy, Melvin… I thought the tractor exploded.”

Percy snorted. “I thought the barn roof was coming down!”

Hattie clucked nervously. “I thought the sky was falling!”

Melvin’s ears drooped. “I just want to sing like Melvina…”

Melvina nuzzled him gently. “Oh, Melvin… you don’t need a small voice. You just need a guided voice. And remember — you can do all things through Christ.”

Children can color Melvina encouraging Melvin.

Melvin straightened, encouraged. He tried again — this time aiming for less thunder, more melody.

The note that came out was still loud… but warm, steady, and surprisingly pleasant.

Clara‑Belle mooed. Percy tossed corn like confetti. Hattie fainted again. Mr. Whiskerford revived just long enough to faint a second time.

Then Bartholomew the Rooster strutted in proudly. “I heard singing!” He crowed loudly — and terribly off-key.

Just as Melvin finished his latest booming note, a familiar sound drifted from the pond — a chorus of honks, squawks, and fluttering feathers. It was the Goose Choir, led by Gerald the Goose‑Maestro, wearing his usual serious expression and a feather bowtie that never stayed straight.

“Melvin’s taking singing lessons?” Gerald gasped. The other geese honked in disbelief. “From Melvina?” “Does she have earplugs?” “Should we evacuate the pond?”

Melvina smiled politely. “Now, now, geese — Melvin’s learning to sing with joy, not just volume.”

Gerald puffed his chest. “Well, we are professionals. Perhaps we can assist.”

The geese lined up, lifted their wings, and began their warm‑up honks. Melvin joined in — loudly, proudly, and completely off‑key. The result was so thunderous that:

  • The pond rippled like a storm,
  • The scarecrow lost his hat,
  • Percy’s mud puddle formed waves,
  • and Clara‑Belle’s milk pail vibrated off the fence.

Gerald staggered backward. “Melvin! You’ve invented a new genre — Goose‑Opera!”

Melvina laughed until tears sparkled in her eyes. “See, Melvin? Even the Goose Choir can’t out‑sing your joy.”

Just when the Goose Choir finished honking their dramatic reactions and Melvin threw back his head in hearty laughter, a new sound bubbled up from the barnyard.

Squeeeeee! Squee‑squee‑SQUEAL!

It was Percy the Pig — trotting forward with excitement, mud splashing from his hooves. Behind him waddled Petunia, Pip, and Puddle, each one squealing in their own cheerful pitch.

Percy puffed out his chest. “Melvin! That was the funniest singing lesson I’ve ever heard!”

Petunia squealed a high note. Pip squealed a low note. Puddle squealed a note that wiggled like a worm.

Together they chimed in with a joyful chorus of piggy praise:

“Squeee! Squee‑squee! SQUEAL‑la‑lu‑jah!”

Melvin laughed even harder — his whole belly shaking. Melvina giggled behind her hoof. The Goose Choir honked in rhythm. Clara‑Belle mooed. Hattie clucked. Mr. Whiskerford fainted again.

Even the Scarecrow tipped his hat and called out, “Those pigs have better rhythm than I do — Ha Ha Ha!”

The geese recovered, honked in harmony, and finally joined Melvin for one glorious, funny finale — a barnyard symphony of honks, brays, and laughter that echoed across Peacefield Farm.

When Melvin’s booming voice rolled across Peacefield Farm, even the Goose Choir lost their rhythm. Feathers flew, honks echoed, and the pond rippled like a storm. From his post near the fence, the Scarecrow wobbled on his stick, hat tilted sideways, straw arms flapping.

He steadied himself, chuckled, and called out, “He nearly scared me to death — Ha Ha Ha!”

The geese honked louder, Melvina laughed until tears sparkled, and Melvin threw back his head and laughed too. He always saw the humor in things — even when his notes shook the rafters.

The barnyard rang with laughter and praise, a joyful noise that made every creature smile. And Melvin remembered:

“I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.” Philippians 4:13 (KJV)

🍁 Truely Thankful

🍁 Truely Thankful

Dear Jesus, I am thankful for the sunlight That paints the morning gold, For gentle winds that whisper Stories heaven loves to hold.

I am thankful for the laughter That drifts like leaves in flight, For kindness shared in quiet ways That makes the heavy light.

I am thankful for the moments You placed with care in my day— Little blessings, small reminders Of Your love along the way.

I am thankful for the friendships That warm the heart like fire, For dreams You plant within my soul And lift with holy desire.

I am thankful for the journey, For every step and start, For the grace that keeps on blooming In the garden of my heart.

I am thankful for my Savior— Your mercy deep and true. And every breath I’m given Is a gift I owe to You.

So I gather all my blessings, Like autumn leaves they fall… And whisper, Lord, I’m grateful— Truely thankful for it all

“The Pumpkin That Shared Its Light”

“The Pumpkin That Shared Its Light”

Once upon a golden autumn morning, a small pumpkin sat quietly at the edge of the patch. It had watched the other pumpkins being chosen for pies, decorations, and lanterns, but no one seemed to notice it. The little pumpkin wondered if it had any purpose at all.

Then one crisp Sunday, the children from the church came to the farm. They laughed and sang as they picked pumpkins for their Sunday School lesson. When they reached the end of the row, one child pointed and said, “Let’s take that one — it looks like it’s smiling!”

The pumpkin was carried to the classroom, where the teacher spoke about how God gives each of us a light to share. She carved a heart on its side and placed a candle inside. When the flame flickered, the pumpkin glowed so warmly that the whole room seemed brighter.

The children gathered around and whispered, “It’s shining!” The pumpkin realized that its light wasn’t meant to stay hidden in the patch — it was meant to shine for others. From that day on, it became a symbol of kindness and joy.

Each Sunday, the teacher lit the candle again and reminded the children: “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” — Matthew 5:16

And the little pumpkin smiled, knowing that even the smallest light can make a big difference when it shines for God.

🌾 New Baby on the Western Frontier

Out on the Western frontier, where the tall grasses sway, A new little heartbeat joined the world one sunrise day. The cabin was quiet, the prairie winds mild, As Mama whispered prayers over her sweet newborn child.

The hills stood watch like guardians strong, While meadowlarks offered their soft morning song. Papa rode in from the far cattle line, His eyes full of wonder at this treasure divine.

Little boots not yet worn, little hands soft and small, A new frontier blessing had come to them all. The lantern glowed warmly, the fire burned low, As love wrapped the cabin in a gentle, golden glow.

Outside, the world was rugged and wide, But inside, peace settled deep as the tide. Mama rocked slowly, her voice calm and clear, “God walks with us, little one — always near.”

The stars that night shone brighter than snow, As if heaven itself waved hello. To the child who arrived with a whisper of grace, Bringing hope to the homestead, light to the place.

And so on the frontier, where brave hearts reside, A new little cowboy began life’s ride. Held close by love, watched over by prayer, A Western-born blessing beyond compare.

Oh little boy, so full of grace, The moon reflects on your cherub face. With every giggle, with every cheer, You fill our hearts with love sincere.

As you grow, may you always know, The love around you will always show. Through trials and triumphs, big and small, Our little boy, you’ll conquer it all.

Run through fields with your spirit high, Chase the stars across the sky. Laugh at the wind, dance with the rain, Feel the world, and all its gain.

Little boy baby, so cherished, so true, The world is better because of you. So close your eyes, and dream anew, For God hath blessed us with you

Little boy baby, a miracle so sweet, You bring the purest joy from smile to little feet. With tiny hands that reach for the sky, And laughter that echoes, a blessed lullaby.

Your eyes hold the wonder of a brand-new dawn, Like the sparkling dew on a quiet lawn. In your gaze, the world feels bright, A canvas painted with radiant light.

Oh, little boy, so fearless and free, You explore the world with curiosity. Each step you take, each giggle you share, Leaves love and happiness floating in the air.

The world is vast, yet you’re its heart, A beacon of hope, a precious art. The softness of your cheek, the warmth of your touch, Little boy baby, you're loved so much.

Through the days, as you learn and grow, Your light will shine, your spirit will glow. The adventures ahead are yours to claim, With dreams untold, and a destined name.

May kindness guide you in all you do, May courage and grace walk beside you, too. For you, little boy, are a gift so rare, A treasure of love beyond compare.

🌾 The Day My Little Cowboy Was Born

The day my little cowboy was born, The prairie woke to a brighter morn. Soft winds whispered across the land, As heaven placed him in my hands.

The lantern glowed with a golden light, A quiet promise in the still of night. And all the West seemed to rejoice, As if creation found its voice.

His tiny fingers curled like dawn, A new frontier blessing gently drawn. A spark of courage, a seed of grace, A future rider in this rugged place.

I held him close, my heart undone, A mother’s prayer for her newborn son. “Lord, guide his steps through dust and storm, Keep his little spirit brave and warm.”

The cattle lowed, the hills stood near, Guardians of this child so dear. And in that moment, love was sworn— The day my little cowboy was born.
