Jesus In Our Heart - A Guide # 2

                                                           3 Leaf Clover / Saint Patricks Day

Jesus In Our Heart

Baptism is a picture of what happens to you when you become saved.  We without Christ are dead in our sins.  Separated from God.  Once a person believes in the Lord Jesus Christ.  Something happens.  They become alive to God because Jesus Christ through the Holy Spirit comes into their heart.

When we are baptized, we are emersed under the water, buried in the likeness of Christ, and arising to new life in Christ Jesus.  It is a testimony and an example, to all, that we have been saved and have become born to God as his dear child.  We were dead to God, but now, made alive unto God.

This is exactly what happens when we become born again. By faith, our sins are washed away.  The blood of Christ shed for us was applied upon the acceptance of Christ Jesus into our life.  We spiritually are risen into a new life and beginning.  We have been adopted into the family of God.

The Holy Spirit is Jesus in our hearts but is called the Comforter in scripture.   The comforter is with us and in us.  Jesus in our hearts.  We can pray and Jesus helps our feeble prayers, He speaks for us with perfect prayers even when we don’t know how to say what needs to be asked.  When you worship God, you can feel his presence with you.  He is there for you to help you through life’s troubles.

All acceptable good works are through Christ alone.  Our righteousness is as filthy rags to God.

Isaiah 64:6 ¶ But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags.  Good works of any kind are excepted by people.  They are commended and looked up to.  People normally reward people for doing good things.  Many are known for their wonderful gift of charity.  However, God does not accept our goodness as righteousness but as filthy rags.  That is why the crown we receive in heaven will be laid at the feet of Christ.  Christ within us and his working through us is the only righteousness accepted by God.  Not of good that I have done, but only what Christ has done through us.  That only happens if we accept Christ and the shedding of his blood for our sins.

The Holy Spirit does not testify of himself, He testifies of Jesus.  This is why we pray in the name of Jesus Christ and do all things in Jesus Christ’s name.

Colossians 3:17 And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.

 Colossians 3:23 And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;

God offers the gift of salvation to whoever wants it.

John 3:15 -17 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have eternal life.

 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

Jesus Talks about the Comforter

John 14:16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you forever;

 John 14:26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

 John 15:26 ¶ But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me:

 John 16:7 ¶ Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.

John 15:4 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.

Some lesson afterthoughts...

Jesus was baptized at thirty years old, as our example.  Not one baby was baptized by emersion or sprinkling in the bible.  Each person should understand what they are doing.  Baptism is the first step of obedience as a Christian.

The Little Candle Said

The Little Candle Said

The candle said in the wind.

I’m just a tiny light, a light so small.

I’m not sure if anyone;

Could see to get around with me at all.

I would be a guiding light.

If I were a star up in the night sky.

To those who are lost in sin.

Shining for Jesus as the time goes by.

I would shine upon the day.

Our trembling Savior drew his last breath.

The lightning flashed ‘cross the sky;

The elements grieved at our Savior’s death.

Jesus was dead, with bowed head.

He had no life, no thought, and no heartbeat.

Screams were heard in the darkness.

The earth shook and opened beneath their feet.

The candle said to the sky.

I’m just a tiny light, a light so small.

I’m not sure if anyone;

Could see to get around with me at all.

I would be a guiding light.

If I were a star up in the night sky.

To those who are lost in sin.

Shining for Jesus as the time goes by.

I would shine upon the day.

The angel rolled the stone from the tomb’s door.

To see that it was empty.

Now in Christ, there is life forevermore.

In the presence of angels.

Mary and others, their joy could be heard.

Jesus arose from the dead.

They ran to tell the others the good word.

Many miracles happened.

Many Saints arose from the open graves.

The unbelieving believed.

They were saved on that day, thank God, Jesus saves.

The candle said to the land.

I’m just a tiny light, a light so small.

I’m not sure if anyone;

Could see to get around with me at all.

I would be a guiding light.

If I were a star up in the night sky.

To those who are lost in sin.

Shining for Jesus as the time goes by.

Where I am needed, I’ll be.

I would give light in a place without light.

Not me, but Jesus they’ll see.

For his light is the light that will shine through me.

Then the little candle sang.

“This light of mine, I’m going shine for you.

Jesus’ help me give more light.

Help me, help others always see you.

The little candle was shining all along.

I changed the song to say Mary and others.  The bible does not say Martha was there.  I'm not going to change the audio.  If you would like for me to change it, let me know and I will change it.

Luke 24:10  It was Mary Magdalene, and Joanna, and Mary the mother of James, and other women that were with them, which told these things unto the apostles. (Martha could have been there)

Matthew 28:1-19

 In the end of the sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulchre.

 And, behold, there was a great earthquake: for the angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat upon it.   His countenance was like lightning, and his raiment white as snow:

 And for fear of him the keepers did shake, and became as dead men.

 And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified.

 He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.

 And go quickly, and tell his disciples that he is risen from the dead; and, behold, he goeth before you into Galilee; there shall ye see him: lo, I have told you.

 And they departed quickly from the sepulchre with fear and great joy; and did run to bring his disciples word.

 And as they went to tell his disciples, behold, Jesus met them, saying, All hail. And they came and held him by the feet, and worshipped him.

  Matthew 27: 50-54

  Jesus, when he had cried again with a loud voice, yielded up the ghost.
 And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent;
 And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose,
 And came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many.
 Now when the centurion, and they that were with him, watching Jesus, saw the earthquake, and those things that were done, they feared greatly, saying, Truly this was the Son of God.
