Things That Mama Taught Us

Things That Mama Taught Us

Hello, how are you?  I'm doing fine.
Mother, may I, Mother please, bless you.
You are welcome,
Good morning sweetheart,
These are things that, Mama taught us.
When we were very young.

Say you're sorry, hug each other.
Stop right now, quit, hitting your brother.
Time to get along.
Please, use your manners today.
These are things that, Mama taught us;
When we were very young.

Brush your teeth and comb your hair;
Wait a minute, stop right there, play fair.
Thank-you, excuse me.
Say I love you, say good night.
say your prayers. before you sleep;
sleep tight.
These are things that, Mama taught us.
When we were very young.

Finally, be ye all of one mind, having compassion
one of another, love as brethren, be pitiful, be courteous

Mother Taught Me

Matthew 19:19 Honour thy father and thy mother

Mother Taught Me

Mother taught me, say thank you, say please;
Say excuse me, when I  cough or sneeze.
To cover my mouth, don't let the germs out;
Help others with joy, without a pout.

She taught me to say sorry when I am wrong;
Told us, kids, not to fight, to get along.
When it's time to work roll up your sleeves:
And that, Jesus, saves, when people believe.

Mother taught me, to be grateful and kind;
Know that most- clouds of life are golden lined.
To pick up my clothes, be sure to wipe my nose;
And to be sure to wash between my toes.

 Mother taught me, to love our family;
She taught me while I sat on her knee.
Stand up for what is right, to love our country;
And that money never grows on the trees.

Mother taught me, to plant a flower seed;
and to wait for it to grow, patiently.
She sat beside me, playing paper dolls;
Before I went into surgery.

My mother has taught me many more things;
So many, that they could never be told.
She has made me laugh, she has made me cry;
My love for mother will never grow old.

My mother is still teaching me each day;
She's teaching me by how brave she stays.
That she can still smile and think of others;
Though sick, is still busy being, mother.

Mother taught me to be brave and how to pray;
Hands together, to say, "Lord help me."
I thank the Lord for my  precious mother;
She will always be beautiful to me.

Are Manners Biblical?

Are Manners Biblical?

 It is unnecessary to thank people for anything, we should only thank God.

(This statement is untrue because)

1Peter 3:8 ¶
Finally, be ye all of one mind, having compassion one of another, love as brethren, be pitiful, be courteous

Meaning of the word courteous: polite, respectful, or considerate in manner.
synonyms: polite, well mannered, civil, respectful, well behaved, well bred, well spoken, mannerly; gentlemanly, chivalrous, gallant; gracious, obliging, considerate, pleasant, cordial, urbane, polished, refined, courtly, civilized

Examples Of Being Courteous Would Be- Showing appreciation, like saying, "thank you." Saying, "you're welcome, which expresses you were glad to help."
apologizing, saying "pardon me, or excuse me." Saying the word, "please" shows that we are not demanding. It is being considerate of others feelings.It is honoring others. Saying, Yes Sir, No Sir/ Yes Mam, No Mam is showing respect for authorities and also honoring the elderly. We are to show love and consideration one to another. Being gentle, kind and thoughtful. (These are things we should work on and become better at each day.) It helps keep peace and unity.)

1Peter 2:17
Honour all men. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honour the king.

Colossians 4:6
Let your speech be always with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man.

Proverbs 18:23
The poor useth intreaties; but the rich answereth roughly.
Poor people are more grateful.

Proverbs 18:24
A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly

1Thesalonians 2:7
But we were gentle among you, even as a nurse cherisheth her children:
2Timothy 2:24
And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient, {patient: or, forbearing}
Titus 3:2
To speak evil of no man, to be no brawlers, but gentle, shewing all meekness unto all men.

We Need To Ask Forgiveness

We Need To Ask Forgiveness

 When we became born again we do not have to ask God for forgiveness anymore, even if we did something wrong. We confess our sins but no longer have to ask forgiveness.
This is a false statement for these reasons.

The #1 reason is the answer
is In the Lord's prayer. God teaches us to ask forgiveness.

Mt 6:9 -15 .....vrs 12
After this manner, therefore, pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.
(We must get our own hearts right with our brother/sister before God will forgive us.)
For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:
But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

Ephesians 4:30 And grieve not the Holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.
James 4:6 But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.

When we sin we hurt our relationship with the Heavenly Father. We grieve the Holy Spirit. When we have gone on without restoring that relationship by asking forgiveness and the confessing of our sins, we can not live in the peace and joy the Lord has spoken of to us. Our lives will not exemplify the Holy Spirit's attributes in our lives. Sometimes this also happens when our faith has been tried for a very long period of time and we begin to doubt. We have to restore our relationship with our Heavenly Father just like we do with people. God will not bless our prayer if we have ought against our brother/sister The Bible tells us to first go to our brother/sister then God will bless our prayers. Your brother or sister will never be able to say you didn't try. God wants you to forgive your brother/sister from the heart, even if they will not accept your attempts to restore a relationship with them. Then our prayers will be heard for our own forgiveness. If we are truly saved you cannot lose our salvation, but an unforgiving heart means a disobedience has hindered our relationship with God. Therefore, our effectiveness as a Christian is also hindered. God's will is for us to humble ourselves even if we are not the guilty one. If we do this God will bless us for our obedience and give us the grace to love those that do not love us.
