How Does God Feel About Evil?

Does God like evil?

There’s not a day go by that God is not angry

With the wicked.

It does not say that he’s just angry with wickedness.

He’s angry with those who practice and celebrate wickedness

Psalms 7:11

God judgeth the righteous, and God is angry with the wicked every day.

Devices Against God –  a device is a tool.

Isaiah32:7 The instruments also of the churl are evil: he deviseth wicked devices to destroy the poor with lying words, even when the needy speaketh right.

The churl:

This verse speaks of someone who is unhappy with someone so they come up with an evil plan to meet their goals, they will lie, cheat, and steal to get what they want. Lying Cheating and Stealing are their devices.

The Bible is a device: It is a good device

David was used by God to bring forth the Inspired Word of the Psalms.  David speaks to us through the Psalms the attitude and belief that God would like to see from us. The Psalms teach, worship, praise, exemplify attitudes, and give direction, so we should listen to these words

Teach and apply it

 Psalms 101:3

I will set no wicked thing before mine eyes:

I hate the work of them that turn aside; it shall not cleave to me.

God does not like evil,

God does not love evil.

How many have seen the little monkey that says

I will see no evil and he covers his eyes.

I will speak no evil and he covers his mouth.

I will hear no evil and he covers his ears.

It stops there.

But let’s continue with it.

I will think no evil and cover your head

I will love no evil and cover your heart

Then I will do no evil.

I will fear no evil.

 Psalms 23:4

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the

shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art

with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

Halloween was just a couple days ago.  I’m not sure I want to call it Halloween.  One, the name itself is a lie.  The angels sing in heaven Holy, Holy, Holy and there is nothing outside of God that is holy.  The name Halloween implies that it is a Holy Day.  It is a day that glorifies evil and death.  The Psalms have taught us through David not to set any wicked thing before our eyes: I have two grandchildren who see evil on people’s front lawns. These displays are set out to be seen by people passing by.  Some will leave marks on the hearts of your children and mine.

Only God himself will know the impact of what has been set before them.  Our words about other people will also leave marks, those marks may make decisions happen that more than likely would not have happened if we chose not to speak evil of other people.

“Deliver us from evil” is a piece of the Lord's Prayer.

Keep evil from me and away from my family.  We’ve been taught that the

Lord’s Prayer is the model prayer, and we can still learn from the prayer.

The Lord has spoken to my heart from that small quote from the Lord's Prayer,

We are living in a world that is prone to evil.  That evil can overtake

a person or a person in your family.  We need to pray in this evil day.

To keep the devil away, to resist evil and pray.

"Deliver us from evil."

Galatians 1:4

Who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this present evil world, according to the will of God and our Father:

People want to say everything is good, but the truth is that it is not good.  When God first made the world it was good, as it says in the beginning of Genesis.  But then sin entered into the world.

Remember the great flood, God decided to destroy the whole world, because God can see the imagination. Their thoughts were evil continuously God's wrath was kindled, and God could only find one person who had faith in the earth. God destroyed the whole earth because of sinful imagination.  Only eight souls were saved.  The animals were not counted as souls saved but counted as animals. But God did show mercy, Noah was able to warn every man woman and child. They refused and they rebelled God's call for salvation.  Noah went through persecution they thought he was nuts.  They always found ways to discredit what he had to say. Even after 100 fruitless years of preaching.   All of the people on earth died because they rejected God.  They loved evil and they hated God.  Noah did win his family to God.

Just like God gave Nineveh a chance to repent, God sent a man to tell them and warn them.  God was merciful and gave them a time limit, They had 40 days to repent.  The people of Ninvah repented and all of Ninivah was saved. They turned from wicked idle worship and put their trust in God.  The angels rejoiced in heaven.  How do I know this?  Every time a soul gets saved the angels rejoice.

Preachers still warn people about the coming judgment because there is a heaven and there is a hell. They also tell others of God's great mercy and love.  Galations 1:4

Tell us, that Jesus gave himself for our sins that he might deliver us from this present evil world, according to the will of God and our Father:  God's will is for you to get saved, He does not want you to go to hell.  He has supplied an Ark of deliverance.... Jesus is the way of salvation.

---------------------------------------------------------------------

These are things in life that are modern-day

convivence but they can become your enemy

if you do not have control of them.

More and more these things have become tools in Satan’s hand

They’ve been used to get to you and your family.

There has to be a very careful watch.

We Call These Devices Today:

If you use an invention for evil God’s not going to like what you are doing.

Is a phone evil?

.Is a cell phone evil?

.Is a television evil?

.Is a radio evil?

.Is a gun evil?

.Is a printer evil?

.Is a computer evil?

.Is a camera evil?

.Is money evil? -

I do not believe any of these devices are wrong.

but If something automatically goes there.

Then it is a very dangerous thing.

The scripture tells us.

in James 4:7

Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

Wherefore take unto you the whole armor of God,

that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

God's Word must be vital to you.

His words will lead you into paths of righteousness and

give you strength to resist that which will enslave you.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

the illustration of the monkey?

See no evil - and he covers his eyes

Hear no evil - and covers his ears

Speak no evil - and he covers his mouth

It stops there...

Let us include these things

Think no evil - then cover our heads.

Love no evil - then cover our hearts.

Then I will do no evil.

We are not to be entangled therein again:

But by God’s sweet grace resistant to sin.

Upholding the truth in our hearts and our lives.

Acknowledging God so we may be wise.

King Saul out of envy and rage pursued and persecuted David.  Because of these actions, God no longer blessed Saul nor did He direct his decisions.  When Saul knew would not direct him, He went to a devilish source of help.

in Ephesians 6:13

King Saul, was a very tall man, He became King and God was with him, but he began to lose faith.  He decided to go to a witch to ask the dead what he should do.  This angered God and God departed from King Saul.  God no longer blessed King Saul.

1Samuel 28:6-7

And when Saul enquired of the LORD, the LORD answered him not, neither by dreams, nor by Urim, nor by prophets.

7 ¶ Then said Saul unto his servants, Seek me a woman that hath a familiar spirit, that I may go to her, and enquire of her. And his servants said to him, Behold, there is a woman that hath a familiar spirit at Endor.

And Saul disguised himself, and put on other raiment, and he went, and two men with him, and they came to the woman by night: and he said, I pray thee, divine unto me by the familiar spirit, and bring me him up, whom I shall name unto thee.

9 And the woman said unto him, Behold, thou knowest what Saul hath done, how he hath cut off those that have familiar spirits, and the wizards, out of the land: wherefore then layest thou a snare for my life, to cause me to die?

10 And Saul sware to her by the LORD, saying, As the LORD liveth, there shall no punishment happen to thee for this thing.

11 Then said the woman, Whom shall I bring up unto thee? And he said, Bring me up Samuel.

12 And when the woman saw Samuel, she cried with a loud voice: and the woman spake to Saul, saying, Why hast thou deceived me? for thou art Saul.

13 And the king said unto her, Be not afraid: for what sawest thou? And the woman said unto Saul, I saw gods ascending out of the earth.

14 And he said unto her, What form is he of? And she said, An old man cometh up; and he is covered with a mantle. And Saul perceived that it was Samuel, and he stooped with his face to the ground, and bowed himself.

15 ¶ And Samuel said to Saul, Why hast thou disquieted me, to bring me up? And Saul answered, I am sore distressed; for the Philistines make war against me, and God is departed from me, and answereth me no more, neither by prophets, nor by dreams: therefore I have called thee, that thou mayest make known unto me what I shall do.

In James 4:7 the Bible says,

Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God,

that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

God's Word must be vital to you.

His words will lead you into paths of righteousness.

Remember we live in a very evil world,

but we are not to live in fear.  The bible says,

not to fear what man can do to you, but rather fear to God.

Matthew 10:28

And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able

to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

God Shows Himself Powerful

Through Our Circumstances

Through the Spirit of God.

God shows his power in our most troubled times.  There is an example in the Bible that I’ve often talked about.  It is the story of Paul and Silas in the prison. While in the city of Philippi, Paul and Silas were thrown into prison for preaching the Gospel of Christ.  It doesn’t talk much about the sorrowing of the people in their lives over them being apprehended for the cause of Christ.  We do know one thing they must have had a lot of people praying for them. Or did they? You would think Paul and Silas would be grumbling, but the Bible didn’t say they grumbled.  As we learn about this let us remember to pray for our missionaries.  Let us remember to pray for pastors all over America too.  They need our prayers.

There was a girl who followed Paul and Silas around.  She had an evil spirit.  The evil spirit grieved them.  Act 16:16   And it came to pass, as we went to prayer, a certain damsel possessed with a spirit of divination met us, which brought her masters much gain, by soothsaying:  She repeatedly cried out day after day, saying, These, men are the servants of the most high God, which shew unto us the way of salvation.  She did this many days, Paul became greatly grieved and commanded the evil spirit to leave the woman.  The evil spirit immediately obeyed and left the woman.

Now there were men that made money off the girl, because of the evil spirit.  They became angry at Paul and Silas because they couldn’t make money off of her soothsaying any longer.  So they decided to cause problems for Paul and Silas.  They brought Paul and Silas to the leaders of that city and accused them of causing problems throughout the city.

The leaders took their clothes from them and commanded that they beat them.   They hit them with whips, over and over.  They were thrown into prison and the jailor was commanded to keep a guard over them.

Even though Paul and Silas were doing what God wanted them to do (by giving the gospel.)  They suffered persecution.  The reason they ended up going through these terrible things was that someone was mad because of the money.  The men got mad over the money and that was when they decided to get even.

Sometimes people can use other people for money, and they become a slave to those people.  They don’t have any choice in the matter.  That woman was not paid anything even though they made money off of her.  Maybe she was following Paul and Silas because she wanted to be saved from the evil spirit and also the slavery those men put her under.

God used Paul to deliver her, by one command.  Paul had the power of the Holy Spirit upon him.  God showed himself great in the life of the young girl.  She was saved from slavery.  The devil was mad and showed himself through the actions of the men who loved money enough to enslave a young maiden.

Now Paul and Silas were sitting in a damp, dark prison.  They had open wounds on their bodies. They were hungry and thirsty.  They didn’t have any time to be afraid, they started praising and thanking the Lord.  They sang songs psalms of praise.  They were prepared in their hearts.  They had God’s word in their hearts.  They knew good songs to sing.

Young people you need to know the Bible, you need to know good songs of faith.  God used those things in their lives when they were hurt when they were persecuted.

Act 16:24 - 25 Who, having received such a charge, thrust them into the inner prison, and made their feet fast in the stocks.

And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them.

Act 16:26 And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one's bands were loosed.

They sang praise and prayed to the Lord with all their heart and the power of God shook the jail and the walls came down and the jail doors were opened.  God has the power to save, God has the power to deliver.  God broke the chains of bondage from them.  God loves praise and it moves him if it is from a true heart of faith.  They didn’t have instruments- they just sang beautiful words to a tune.  It could have been out of tune for all we know.  God loved it so much he broke down those walls to save his servants.

The jailor was afraid he would get in trouble if anyone escaped.  Paul said, Don’t worry, we are all here.  Guess what?  The jailor believed in God and got saved.  God shows himself, powerful through our circumstances.

Acts 16:31 And Acts 16:30 And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved?

they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house

The same is true for us today.

2Peter 3:9b .... but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.  God wants people to be saved.  He wants you to be saved and live your life for him.  God does not want anyone to go to hell, but that is what happens to those who die without him.

Father God, If there is anyone here that has not put their trust in you, that has not asked for you to save them.  I pray that you will open their hearts to you today.  Thank you so much that Jesus came to this earth to die for our sins.  Thank you so much that you arose from the dead.  Thank-you that you have the power to save anyone who wants to be saved.  Help each one here understand your love for them and that you want them to be saved.

In Christ Jesus's name, I pray this Amen.

We said it like this - They took the key and locked them up.

We made chains from colored paper and put a memory verse on one of the chains.

The chains are to remind the kids of the power of God.

Use a premade paper chain to demonstrate how easy

the metal chains broke when God broke them.

Acts 16:16 - 33 ¶
And it came to pass, as we went to prayer, a certain damsel possessed with a spirit of divination met us, which brought her masters much gain by soothsaying:  The same followed Paul and us, and cried, saying, These men are the servants of the most high God, which shew unto us the way of salvation.
And this did she many days. But Paul, being grieved, turned and said to the spirit, I command thee in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her. And he came out the same hour.
And when her masters saw that the hope of their gains was gone, they caught Paul and Silas, and drew them into the marketplace unto the rulers,
And brought them to the magistrates, saying, These men, being Jews, do exceedingly trouble our city,
And teach customs, which are not lawful for us to receive, neither to observe, being Romans.
And the multitude rose up together against them: and the magistrates rent off their clothes, and commanded to beat them.
And when they had laid many stripes upon them, they cast them into prison, charging the jailor to keep them safely:
Who, having received such a charge, thrust them into the inner prison, and made their feet fast in the stocks.
And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them.
And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one's bands were loosed.
And the keeper of the prison awaking out of his sleep, and seeing the prison doors open, he drew out his sword, and would have killed himself, supposing that the prisoners had been fled.
Full But Paul cried with a loud voice, saying, Do thyself no harm: for we are all here.
Then he called for a light, and sprang in, and came trembling, and fell down before Paul and Silas,
And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved?
And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.
And they spake unto him the word of the Lord, and to all that were in his house.
And he took them the same hour of the night, and washed their stripes; and was baptized, he and all his, straightway.
And when he had brought them into his house, he set meat before them, and rejoiced, believing in God with all his house.
And when it was day, the magistrates sent the serjeants, saying, Let those men go.
And the keeper of the prison told this saying to Paul, The magistrates have sent to let you go: now therefore depart, and go in peace.
But Paul said unto them, They have beaten us openly uncondemned, being Romans, and have cast us into prison; and now do they thrust us out privily? nay verily; but let them come themselves and fetch us out.
And the serjeants told these words unto the magistrates: and they feared, when they heard that they were Romans.
And they came and besought them, and brought them out, and desired them to depart out of the city.

The Missing Peace - Lesson 2

The Missing Peace

When God made the rules of the garden there was only one rule.  The only rule
was not to eat of the forbidden fruit.  They had everything to be completely satisfied in life.  The serpent beguiled them and tricked them into believing a lie.  When they disobeyed the only rule of the garden.  The peace that they felt with God was gone. It was missing from that very moment.

Fear was immediate in their hearts and lives.  They were afraid of the punishment of God upon them.  This was the first time they ever felt fear, for the first time they knew they were naked before God.   The serpent convinced them that they would be like God, knowing both good and  evil.  Instead, they became sinners, while God remained sinless.
They immediately became sinners in need of salvation.

Death entered this world, at the disobedience of Adam and Eve.  Sin is such a serious thing to God, that sin required a blood sacrifice unto the Lord.  It was the first time a young he lamb without spot was sacrificed for a temporary covering.  It was the first time blood had been shed.

God cursed them in their disobedience,  they would know pain, sorrow and sadness for the rest of their lives.  They would have to work to eat and to live.   God made them leave the perfect garden He made for them.   He also told them they could no longer eat of the tree of life and God sent angels to  guard it.

Adam and Eve made then a yearly sacrifice and continued to have a relationship with the Lord but it was not the same.  They still had happy times but they would also live with unhappy times.
Without God, there is no true peace of heart.  The peace that Adam and Eve knew with God would never really be the same as it was in the garden God made for them.

Adam and Eve looked forward to redemption's promise, through faith and we look back at the cross for our redemption through faith.  When Christ was crucified, as the perfect lamb of God, without spot (meaning sinless).  He died one time for all, no other covering, no other death sacrifice was required.  He finished at the cross what needed to be done.

Mankind is still missing peace, until we find the hope and joy of salvation in Christ alone.  Without Christ we cannot know the peace of God or be at peace with God.

When we find the missing piece, which is Christ for salvation, is when we  find the missing peace..  The peace that rules our hearts because of Christ in us.  The blessing of peace abides with us when we remain faithful in prayer and right living as children of God.

Dear Father In Heaven,
Be with each one here today, I pray you will open their hearts and their minds to your truth.
I pray they will find the peace that passes all understanding.  The forgiveness of Christ and rest of soul, that comes by knowing you.  Hold back the powers of Satan in their lives and bring the miracle of faith into their lives.  May they believe and trust you today as the only way of salvation.  In Christ name, I pray this, Amen.

Upon this day, will you trust Christ as your Saviour and Hero of your life?

 Genesis 3:11
And he said, Who told thee that thou wast naked? Hast thou eaten of the tree, whereof I commanded thee that thou shouldest not eat?

Roman 5:1  Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:
