An Apple A Day

An Apple A Day

An apple a day is a wonderful way:
To remember to love God each day.
To love Him you'll trust Him, you'll learn to obey;
To praise Him and to give Him first place always.

A is for apple and A is for Alpha,
 Omega beginning and end;
Love now the Lord God with all of your heart;
He's more than just any Ole friend.

Love God, Love God;
with all of your heart, soul and mind;
Make Him the apple of your eye;
Make Him your number one valentine.

To love Him is to please Him;
In what we say and do;
And if you want His blessing then;
His will is what's best for you.

Love God, Love God;
with all of your heart, soul and mind;
Make Him the apple of your eye;
Make Him a priority at all times.

(Make Him your number one valentine.)

How many of you have ever heard an apple a day keeps the doctor away?   Apples have been used as a way to teach people to eat healthy. We can also use an apple to  teach us to keep healthy spiritual hearts as well as healthy physical hearts.  God tells us to keep his Word as the apple of our eye. When we love his word we love Him. Now we know that the apple of our eye is talking about a physical part of our eye but in our lesson today we are going to use a real (fruit) apple to remind us to love God each day. None of us like to get sick physically and we shouldn't like to be sick spiritually.  It's very important that we guard our hearts and to love his word. We need to put it in our hearts to keep us from being sick spiritually.  Jesus is our great physician.

 Proverbs 7:2 Keep my commandments, and live; and my law as the apple of thine eye.
