Song: He Gave His Only Son

He Gave His Only Son

 Joyful, Biblical, Easy to Learn)

[Verse 1 – Abraham’s Test] Long ago in a land so far, God spoke to a man beneath the stars. "Abraham, trust Me—follow My way, Even when it’s hard to obey."

[Verse 2 – Isaac’s Wonder] Isaac looked up, his eyes so wide, "Father, where’s the lamb you said God would provide?" He carried the wood with hope so strong, His little heart hummed a trusting song.

[Chorus – God’s Big Love] He gave His only Son, that’s true! Just like Abraham—faith broke through. Love so big, it shines and stays, Like sun shiny praise through all our days.

He gave His only Son for me,

Now I’m a star in His family!

Shining bright, I sing this song,

God’s love is wide and deep and strong----

And He is the light that shows us what's right!

[Verse 3 – God’s Answer] But wait! God spoke with mighty grace, "Don’t hurt your son—look at this place!" A ram appeared through bush and tree, God kept His promise faithfully!

[Bridge – Jesus’ Gift] Years went by, and one bright day, God sent His Son to show the way. On a cross, He gave His life, To take away our sin and strife. ❤️

[Final Chorus – We Shine Today] He gave His only Son for me, Now I’m a star in His family! Shining bright, I sing this song, God’s love is wide and deep and strong!

He gave His only Son for me,

Now I’m a star in His family!

Shining bright, I sing this song,

God’s love is wide and deep and strong----

And He is the light that shows us what's right!

A Father, A Son, and A Lamb: A Devotional Story Inspired by Genesis 22 & John 3:16

The coloring pages stay with the stories and are to be used
for this story only unless you ask permission.

🌿 A Father, A Son, and A Lamb: A Devotional Story Inspired by Genesis 22 & John 3:16

God’s deep love and plan for redemption through Jesus.

Abraham and Isaac walked together beneath the quiet sky. The wind whispered through the trees, and the boy carried wood for the fire. He looked up at his father and asked, “Where is the lamb?” Abraham's heart trembled. He didn’t fully understand what God was doing—but he trusted Him completely. “My son,” he said softly, “God will provide himself a lamb.” (Genesis 22:8, KJV)

Just like Isaac didn’t know what was coming, we don’t always understand God's plan. But one thing is clear: we’re all born with something broken inside—it's called sin. Sin isn’t just about doing something wrong; it’s about being separated from God. Every person, young and old, has sinned. Jesus knew this. That's why, whether He was talking to fishermen, children, or Pharisees, He never avoided the truth. He spoke with love—but He also spoke with clarity. He said we must turn away from our sin and believe.

That’s why Jesus came—He is the Lamb God provided for us. Just like the ram in the thicket saved Isaac from being sacrificed, Jesus saves us from the punishment our sin deserves. He didn’t deserve the cross, but He chose it because of His love for us. John 3:16 says it all: “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son…” That’s the heart of Abraham’s story—it shines forward into Jesus’ story, and now into ours.

When we admit our sin and believe in Jesus, something beautiful happens. He forgives us, washes our hearts clean, and makes us part of His forever family. It's not because we're good—but because He's good. And just like the stars God showed Abraham, too many to count, that’s how many hearts God longs to reach.

Today, you may feel far from God, or unsure what comes next. But the same God who met Abraham on the mountain is reaching for you now. He provided a lamb for Abraham—and He provided Jesus for you. That’s how much He loves you.

The question now is this: will you trust Him? He’s waiting with love, forgiveness, and forever hope. And when you walk with Him, the journey—like Abraham’s—is never alone.

Abraham: A Story of Faith and Obedience Virtues

Follow Here for Craft: Stars Of Promise
Follow Here for Hidden Pictures Coloring Page Abraham and Isaac

Abraham: A Story of Faith and Obedience

The quiet **night sky of Ur** stretched overhead as **Abraham** gazed at the stars. He was comfortable—wealthy, settled. Yet, God’s voice came with a call:

*"Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred…unto a land that I will shew thee."* (**Genesis 12:1**)

Leave everything behind. Step into the unknown.

This journey would demand **faith, virtue, knowledge, temperance, patience, godliness, brotherly kindness, and charity**—just as **2 Peter 1:4-9** teaches.

                               Virtue: Trusting God Without Hesitation

God didn’t tell Abraham **where** he was going—only that he must **go**. Yet, **he obeyed**. He left Ur, taking his family into the wilderness with nothing but God’s promise.

📖 *“And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue...”* (**2 Peter 1:5**)

Virtue isn’t just righteousness—it’s courage to **act in faith** even when the path is unclear.

Knowledge: Learning God's Character Through Experience

As Abraham wandered, he learned **who God is**. God was faithful in **Egypt**, faithful in **Canaan**, faithful when he divided the land with Lot. **Each step taught him something new.**

📖 *“And to virtue knowledge...”* (**2 Peter 1:5**)

His greatest test came when **God promised him a son**, yet **years passed with no child**. Doubt crept in. But with time, Abraham learned that **God’s timing is perfect**.

Temperance: Resisting Human Solutions and Waiting on God

Frustration led Abraham to **take matters into his own hands**. He had a son, **Ishmael**, through Hagar—but that wasn’t God’s promise.

📖 *“And to knowledge temperance...”* (**2 Peter 1:6**)

God taught Abraham **self-restraint**—waiting instead of rushing, trusting instead of controlling. **Sarah would bear a son** in God’s time, not Abraham’s.

Patience: Holding Onto the Promise, Even When Delayed

📖 *“And to temperance patience...”* (**2 Peter 1:6**)

Twenty-five years passed before **Isaac** was born.

Abraham knew delay didn’t mean **denial**. **God was shaping him**—stretching his faith, testing his endurance. Isaac came **when God willed it**, proving that patience always leads to **the fulfillment of God's promises**.

Godliness: Walking in Faith, Even When It Seems Impossible

📖 *“And to patience godliness...”* (**2 Peter 1:6**)  Genesis 22:8 in the King James Version (KJV):

“And Abraham said, My son, God will provide himself a lamb for a burnt offering: so they went both of them together.

Then came the **ultimate test**—God asked Abraham to sacrifice Isaac.

This made no sense. Isaac was the promised child! Yet, Abraham **walked in godliness**, obeying without question.

*"My son, God will provide himself a lamb..."* (**Genesis 22:8**)

And God **did**—a ram in the thicket, sparing Isaac and showing **His faithfulness**.

Brotherly Kindness & Charity: Thinking of Others Above Himself

Genesis 13:8–9 (KJV):

“And Abram said unto Lot, Let there be no strife, I pray thee, between me and thee... Is not the whole land before thee? separate thyself, I pray thee, from me: if thou wilt take the left hand, then I will go to the right...”

Abraham generously offered Lot his choice of land to avoid conflict between their herdsmen. Lot chose the fertile plain of Jordan, while Abraham remained in Canaan.

📖 *“And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity.”* (**2 Peter 1:7**)

Abraham cared for Lot, rescued him from Sodom, and interceded for the city’s wicked inhabitants. Though **he had the right to take the best land**, he **gave Lot the first choice**, showing kindness.

His generosity **reflected God’s heart**—always seeking the good of others.

Conclusion: A Life Built on Faith and Virtue

Abraham’s journey mirrors **2 Peter 1:4-9**:

- He **trusted God’s calling** with virtue.
- He **gained knowledge** through experience.
- He **learned temperance**, resisting doubt-driven action.
- He **practiced patience**, waiting on God’s timing.
- He **walked in godliness**, obeying even in the hardest test.
- He **showed kindness and charity**, thinking of others.

God **crafted Abraham’s faith** through every trial.

Likewise, our spiritual growth **requires trust**—trust that God is working **through delays**, through **tests**, and through **uncertainties** to **shape us** into people of virtue.

Let’s walk like Abraham—**bold in faith, steadfast in promise, trusting God’s plan.
