With An A Attitude
Having an A Attitude is something we all need to learn. I have to remind myself each time a problem comes up, to have an A attitude. - Thinking of Joseph in prison, I know that Joseph had to have a good attitude. Each time Joseph was put anywhere, even in prison, he became favored by those in charge. Joseph was blessed because He had a good attitude and God put favor in the hearts of those in charge.

From Childhood to Slavery
Let’s go back into Joseph’s life as a child. Joseph was a teenager when his baby brother was born His mother died but everything Joseph learned from his mother would not be forgotten. Joseph was taught a number of things. This was made evident when He was in bondage. Joseph was the only sibling that lost his mother. None of the other women in Jacob’s life could ever replace Joseph’s mom.
Joseph was given extra love and attention. A grieving teen needs special attention. Joseph was taught the bible by both his mother and his father. They taught Joseph to love God and they taught Joseph how to obey and respect. There’s not one bad thing ever said in scripture about Joseph. Joseph was sold into slavery and had to adapt to his life in Egypt.
Joseph was very trustworthy, he was a hard worker, and he cared about people, he feared God. He respected those over him. He kept a good spirit about himself. He was a great follower and because of that, he became a good leader. Joseph was trusted because of his character. Which was also seen through how he spoke to people. Joseph was mistreated growing up by his brothers and through those problems, he had to learn to respond to them. I believe Joseph’s mother and father taught him how to rise above his situation. When I think of Joseph as a child that lost his mother. I think of the poor injured lamb in the care of the shepherd. Only it wasn’t a leg injury. It was a heart injury. He needed extra special attention. All the other sheep were okay.
The day Joseph was taken into bonds and was herded off to Egypt with other slaves was the day Joseph grasped with all his heart everything he was ever taught. Everything he was taught by his mother, everything ever taught to him by his father, and every bible scripture he ever read. Prayer was more important than ever. Prayers mingled in sweat and tears on a hard dry desert journey. Joseph knew the life of a slave and the horrors of slavery.

Growing In Jesus Craft
Growing In Jesus Craft
A Gift For Mother
This could be an ongoing activity until the children fill their pot full of flowers, or it could be one lesson that goes over all the points- one at a time as they fill their flower pot.
If you are using it for one lesson they should have all 8 flowers in their pot by the end of class.
You will have to premake part of this craft for young children.
That's what I'm doing. This also could be a centerpiece. If you needed
something for decorations in a classroom.
You'll Need The Following Materials:
1. 8 Craft sticks per pot preferably colored ones. ( For Stems)
If you are short on money cut them from cardboard.
The memory verse slip is the pattern for the stems.
2. You'll need variegated cardboard. Or a cardboard box. Make the bases
by using the yellow rectangle as a pattern.
3.One toilet paper roll pot
per child.
4. Printed out patterns and pieces.
5. Scissors
6. Glue Sticks
7. Scotch Tape
8. Hot glue (for you to make the flower pots ahead)
9, Plastic ziplock bags.
You'll need cardboard.
Use one of the yellow cut-outs below as a pattern
for the pot support base. Make enough for your class.
Glue the toilet paper roll onto the base.
I printed this all on regular paper, not cardstock.
Teach some on each point. There are many things to talk about
under these categories. An example would be love, what category does that fall under?
Love is the underlying factor of all these points.
This could be a nice "Mothers Day Gift". I'm sure she will love it.
The circles above need to be cut out and glued onto the back of the craft stick,
behind the flower. If you do not want to cut out the circles then just cut them into squares. The smaller children just have to glue the flowers on the craft sticks and the circle themes on the back behind the flowers. They should have eight flowers done.
Adjust this craft according to the ages you teach. Have everything made, but not the part that they are going to do.

There are seven flowers here but you can use the
butterfly to glue onto the last craft stick.
Use a glue stick.
One sheet of the above for each child.
Cut Them Out Ahead Of Time.
Write the name of each child on the base of their project. Then
place all pieces and parts of their craft projects into a plastic ziplock bag.
Cut out enough yellow rectangles for each pot
fold it in half and outline a half-circle.
Then cut out the half on the fold.
Open it up and fit it over the top
and slide it down. Then glue it to the cardboard base evenly.

This will be the model for my class.
Make a model for your kids to look at while they do their craft.
I glued and taped the memory verse onto the tube.

I used the leaves on and slightly behind the flowers.
The memory verse can be used as a pattern to cut out your stems.
The cardboard stems can be used as stems for your flowers and also the backing of your memory verse.
As you can see the flowers can be arranged to look lovely on
the table. It also can be used as a teaching tool
before you actually have the kids make one themselves.
You could just put the yellow paper on first.
Which I probably should have done.

Keep in mind when the verse says every man - It is referring to mankind.
Which would mean every person.

Joseph Was Thrown into Prison
It’s been sooooo long since I left you hanging. Did you
forget about me? You know, the story of "Joseph being accused of something he did not do." He was thrown into prison. I’m sure he was in shock and crying out to
God in his heart as he was grabbed quickly, pushed about, and roughly tossed into
an unknown atmosphere. It was probably
darker than normal there. The truth is Joseph
was alone in life, he had no friends. He
didn’t have family members there for him.
He had no one praying for him through his tears and his grief. He didn’t have anyone but God. He talked to God through his problems. His father wasn’t praying for his safety, his
father thought he was dead. I’m sure
Joseph thought of his little brother and his dad each night before he went to
sleep. I mean that would be the human
thing to do. There are several things Joseph
did while he was in prison. He did his very best work. I’m sure he learned new things every day. He met new people each day. He did not have a bad attitude. If he struggled in his heart with bitterness,
he took it to God in prayer. Who knows
what happened to him while he was in prison?
The bible does not tell us every detail of his stay. We know one thing though he was there a long,
long time. He was completely forgotten.
He obviously wanted out of prison, because He mentions it to
two people. Joseph was talented in a
very unusual way. Joseph’s talent was
rejected by his family when he was young.
However, He was believed by people who he knew in Egypt. Once again just like David, Joseph was accused, by
his family of being, prideful. Rejection
and violence were part of their youth because they were judged harshly. Did that mean God wasn’t blessing them? On the contrary, they were the very ones that
had a leadership purpose. God was
preparing Joseph for a life of a leader.

Lazarus Come Forth Relay
Supplies Needed:
1. A Large Box - Big enough to get inside of. The box needs to sit on its side - opened. It represents the grave.
2. The strongest toilet paper you can find. Or use paper towels.
- You could have more than one box if you want each team to arise from the grave.
- Select teams, each team can consist of two or more depending on your class.
The Object Of The Game.
- To come in first place wrapping your teammate in (toilet paper) grave clothes and help your teammate into the box. (the Tomb). At which time your team leader will "Comand Lazarus To Come Forth".
Lazarus Arises ( From The Box) Then they tear off his graveclothes.
You could end the game there or let each team go through all the steps.
They all get rewarded for participation.
