Brotherly Kindness Handprint Craft - Lesson Brotherly Kindness

Brotherly Kindness is a key virtue found in 2 Peter 1:7, reminding us to treat others with **love, compassion, and generosity**. It means showing **genuine care** for those around us—whether they are family, friends, or even strangers.  

In the stories of **Joseph, David, Queen Esther, and Jacob**, we see how brotherly kindness shaped their actions:  

- **Joseph** forgave his brothers, even after they betrayed him.  

- **David** showed kindness to Jonathan’s son, Mephibosheth, despite Saul’s hostility.  

- **Esther** risked her life to save her people, showing great love for them.  

- **Jacob** reconciled with Esau after years of separation, restoring their relationship.  

 **Craft Idea: Brotherly Kindness Handprint Tree  

**Materials Needed:**  

- Colored construction paper  

- Scissors  

- Markers  

- Glue  

**Instructions:**  

1. Cut out a **tree trunk** from brown construction paper.  

2. Trace and cut out **handprints** on different colors of paper.  

3. Write acts of kindness on each handprint (helping others, forgiving, encouraging).  

4. Glue the handprints around the trunk to create a **tree of brotherly kindness**.  

This craft visually represents **how kindness grows**, just like a tree.

Make a Sunshine Basket

Make yourself a basket ahead of time.  Show the kids your basket ahead of time.

 Talk about attitude, being thankful and rejoicing in the Lord.

I used two scrapbooking card stock pages.

The basket is larger than the video

I printed out verses.

I used tape because this is a craft I used

with a toddler.  It doesn't look as neat because it

is not made with glue.

I kept it simple for a small child.

I cut out all the pieces out ahead of time.

Everything folded ahead of time.

There are all kinds of baskets in the world.

This activity is for any age.  Make it fit the age.

Encourage Yourself

Encourage Yourself

 Encourage yourself, in  the things of God;

Encourage yourself, in all that's right.

When this world seems like it's upside-down;

The darker the world the brighter the light.

Encourage yourself, In the things of God;

Encourage yourself , be a shining light.

When things  out of control, trouble your soul;

Encourage yourself, keep fighting the fight.

Encourage yourself, in the things of God:

Encourage yourself, because God knows best;

Though you may feel low, your heart downcast;

Speak to yourself in the songs of the blest..

Encourage yourself, in the things of God;

Encourage others along the way;

Making melody  in your heart to God;

Encourage yourself from day to day.
