I Had A Bag Of Seeds
I Had A Bag Of Seeds
I had a bag of seeds;
My mother gave to me.
She told me to plant them;
To see what they would be.
My mother gave to me.
She told me to plant them;
To see what they would be.
I planted both big and small;
Some flat and some were round.
Some were smooth, some were rough
Some yellow and some brown.
Some flat and some were round.
Some were smooth, some were rough
Some yellow and some brown.
I planted them with glee;
To see what they would be.
Every day I'd check them;
Each special little seed.
To see what they would be.
Every day I'd check them;
Each special little seed.
Then one day one appeared;
Like magic from the ground.
Then another followed;
Each day another found.
Like magic from the ground.
Then another followed;
Each day another found.
Would it be a flower?
or would it be a tree?
would it be a thistle?
or pesky little weed?
or would it be a tree?
would it be a thistle?
or pesky little weed?
Whatever seed I choose;
To take the time to sow.
If good seed or bad seed;
That is what will grow:
To take the time to sow.
If good seed or bad seed;
That is what will grow:

The Giant Nobody Would Fight
The Giant Nobody Would Fight
1 Samuel 1:17
Today we are going to learn about a boy named David who
stood up against a giant that nobody else would fight. God sometimes uses someone we think could
never be used by God. God can use anyone
he wants to use. Even though David's
brothers thought Him prideful, God knew
that David was a boy filled with faith and courage.
There was a war in Israel and the Philistines were out to overtake their land.
"Goliath was a big ferocious man and was very
scary. He challenged any of the men of Israel
to come out and fight to the death. But
none of the mighty men of Israel would go fight the giant.
Now David was the smallest of all His brothers and was too
young to be part of Israel's army. His
day was filled with the peace of tending the sheep and playing His harp. He praised God everyday with the songs He
wrote.
Now there were times David had to deal with some big
problems. God loved David and God gave
David extra strength - more than a
normal boy His age would have. David was
only around twelve years old when He had to fight a hungry lion. The lion snatched one of His little lambs and
David killed the lion with His bare hands and saved the lambs life. Then
one day a bear became a danger, a very bad bear, who wanted to kill Him, but
David was empowered by God and killed the bear.
David was very brave and had great faith in what God would do.
David went to go check on His brothers and witnessed for himself
the threatening of Goliath. It angered David. He said, " I will fight"! But all his brothers mocked him and told him
He was prideful. David was brought before
King Saul. The King agreed to let David fight
and dressed Him in heavy armor that was too big for Him. He clanged around in the armor , but it was
big and bulky. He decided all He needed
was His slingshot. David must have been
a pretty good shot. He had plenty of
time to practice out in the field while watching the sheep.
David went down to the brook , stuck his hand into the water
and chose five smooth stones. Then with
bravery went to stand before the giant that no one else would fight. Goliath vowed to feed him to the dogs and
cried out many frightening things trying
to scare David and all of Israel.
David yelled with a loud voice, " How dare you, defile
the armies of the living God! I will defeat
you this day in the name of the Lord!"
He put one stone in His sling and He slung it around and around. The stone flew through the air and hit Goliath
in the middle of His forehead so hard it dug into His head and He fell
backwards with a loud thud to the dusty ground. Then He stood upon the chest of Goliath and
cut off His head. "
In life we sometimes have problems too big for us to
handle. Things that tire us from day to
day. Just like the taunting of Goliath. It could be temptation, or homework that is overwhelming,
a problem at home or some heartache we're dealing with. There are so many things in life much bigger
than we are, but with God's help we can face them with faith and courage. David had determination and did not waver in His faith. He knew God was with Him and did not doubt what God could do.
This verse comes to
my mind as I think about David
Philippians 4:13 - I
can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.
Lord Jesus, help us to have unwavering faith like David and
help us to defeat our problems with courage and determination. In
the power of your Holy Name. Amen

The Little Seed - Puppet Show
The Little Seed
Good morning Angelica and welcome to "Our Garden Party".
Angelica: Well, Thank-you for having me.
Teacher: Angelica we have heard that you have a story about a very unusual seed.
Angelica: Yes, I found a seed and it was very tiny. I was hoping to see it grow but a storm came and my seed washed away down into a storm sewer. The funny thing is I could hear the seed singing as it washed away.
Teacher: Are you sure you weren't just hearing things or had too much caffeine or something?
Angelica: No I sure enough heard the little seed. It was kind of funny but the seed seemed quite happy.
Teacher: Well what in the world was it singing?
Angelica: It kept on repeating - "Sailing, sailing over the ocean blue. " And as it washed down you could hear a little echo down in the storm sewer saying . Don't worry about me I have a very special place to grow.
Teacher: This is the most fascinating story ever. So What did you do?
Angelica: Well, I kept it in my heart for a long time and I wondered what ever happened to the little seed. I imagined it grew into the most beautiful flower. Then I imagined it grew into a vibrant vine. Then I thought it would grow to be a tree filled with golden apples.
Teacher: But how would you ever really know?
Angelica: Listen, if a seed could really talk - if it tells me it's going to grow I'd believe it. Because it would be a miracle it talked in the first place.
Teacher: So your saying the story is not true then?
Angelica: That's right, but I told you this story to teach you something that is true.
Teacher: That's good I thought you'd gone a little over the deep end or something . ( Teacher makes the crazy sign.)
Angelica: The point is - when you plant a seed you may never know where grows. It works the same way when planting the seeds of the Word.
Teacher: Oh, I get it. God's Word Never Returns To Him Void.
Angelica: Sometimes we may never see the fruit of our labor. But God does and that's all that really matters. We just need to be busy planting the precious seed of Truth.
Teacher: You know something Angelica, Thinking about the story you told about the little seed. It's interesting it sang over the ocean blue. It makes me think about our Missionaries who do bring the seed overseas.
Angelica: Just goes to show you. We need to be out their faithfully working in the garden of God.
His Word will grow...if we never see it here. We will see it in heaven. You may never know where it will grow but if it's sown in faith it will grow. Either here in the heart of the believing or it will grow in the heart of God.
Teacher: But the Bible teaches some seed will be choked, and some will wither.
Angelica: But if sown in faith if it dies here - it will be counted as righteousness in the sight if God.
God's Word never returns to Him void.
Teacher: How true and how encouraging to all of us. It is very hard when we do not see the fruit of our labors- but if done in faith we can have hope in knowing this: We may never know..w here it will grow, but it will grow because God says so. His Word says, " His Word will not return to Him void."
Teacher: Thank-you Angelica for this fascinating interview. Boys and Girls let's give our guest a hand and thank her for visiting with us today. Buy Angelica thank- you for a fantastic interview .
Angelica: Thanks, You all, have a good day and see you at the zoo. Exit
