Give Thanks Unto The Lord

 Give Thanks unto The Lord

Thankful, yes thankful that’s what we should be;

Thankful to God who

watches over you and me.

Thankful, yes thankful that’s what we should be;

For all of God’s blessings like our family.

Let us give thanks, unto the Lord, give thanks.

Let us bring joy to the Lord, bring him joy.

Oh, Let us bring praise to the Lord, with thanksgiving.

And teach this truth to each girl and each boy.

Grateful, yes grateful that’s what we should be;

Grateful for God’s love and generosity.

Grateful, yes grateful that’s what we should be;

For all of God’s blessings like the land of the free.

Let us give thanks, unto the Lord, give thanks.

Let us bring joy to the Lord, bring him joy.

Oh, Let us bring praise to the Lord, with thanksgiving.

And teach his truth to each girl and each boy.

Faithful, yes faithful that’s what we should be;

Faithfully serving God with love joyfully.

Faithful, yes faithful that’s what we should be;

Singing with joy, joy, joy that God loves you and me.

Let us give thanks, unto the Lord, give thanks.

Let us bring joy to the Lord, bring him joy.

Oh, Let us bring praise to the Lord, with thanksgiving.

And teach his truth to each girl and each boy.

Praying, yes praying, that’s what we must do.

Forgiving others as God has forgiven you.

Praying, yes praying, that’s what we must do.

So that God’s blessing will be upon you.

Let us give thanks, unto the Lord, give thanks.

Let us bring joy to the Lord, bring him joy.

Oh, Let us bring praise to the Lord, with thanksgiving.

And teach his truth to each girl and each boy.

Believe, yes believe, that God’s Word is true.

Follow in the steps of Jesus, follow the light.

Believe, yes believe, that God’s Word is true.

To be saved, you must believe that Jesus died for you.

Let us give thanks, unto the Lord, give thanks.

Let us bring joy to the Lord, bring him joy.

Oh, let us bring praise to the Lord, with thanksgiving.

And teach his truth to each girl and each boy.

------

Thank you, dear God, for your love and your grace.

Thank you, dear God, for all the great things that you do.

Thank you, dear God, our Father, our merciful friend.

Thank you, yes thank you God, thank you - for you.

Thoughts About Thanksgiving Yesterday and Today

 God wants us to be thankful, not just thankful but thankful to him.  Thank him for every moment you have to be with your family.  Love them and cherish them because you never know if it will be the last day to express your love to them. Thanksgiving is nearing and set aside as a day to thank God.  We thank God for family.

When the pilgrims settled into this country, they seriously lost family members to the flu and other illnesses.  They went through great hardship but yet they gathered together after losing people that they loved to give thanks to God.   God had provided a beautiful amount of food and new friends.  Friends who were different than they were yet they gathered together to worship God.  Some of them lost a mother, some a husband, some a sister, some a brother, some another.  They grieved but did not forget to give thanks for each other and all God's mercy and supplements.  God basically gave them enough food for a feast.  More so than they could possibly eat.   They began a new life, in a new place.  It was like being in another world to them.

I wonder how many of us feel the same way.  Covid has changed everything, it seems as though the devil has gotten some foothold through it all.   You know the devil lives off of fear, off of anger and bitterness.

We need to remember to thank God for our family and all God’s blessings.  We need to be thankful for our country, which has been able to freely worship God for centuries.  We need to pray that the devil won’t get a stronghold on our country.  God does amazing things when we praise him, he has answered many a prayer that has included praise but God wants us to get our hearts right in order to accept that praise.  We can’t have hatred in our hearts for our brothers and sisters in the Lord or in our families.   The bible says he will not hear our prayers if we regard iniquity in our hearts.

As we gather together as families to honor our Lord.  It’s not just about the feast, but all about our God who watches over us, who says, that the rocks will cry out in praise to him if there is a refusal to praise him.

 We thank thee our Father, for all these things.  Our family, to love and to hold. Our home, in which we find rest. Our friends in whom you have given. The food, clothing, and physical needs that you have supplied from year to year, now and in the future.  Thank you, Lord God, for your loving-kindness to us.  Thank you for dying for our sins and forgiving all those who trust in you.  Mostly Thank-you for you!  Lord God, thank you for being here for us, to comfort us when our hearts are broken, or to joy with us when we rejoice. Thank you for always being here with us even through our tears.

Thanksgiving Day is a day to celebrate your blessings to us and you are our greatest blessing forever and always.   Amen

We Thank You!

We Thank You!

November days are days of thoughtfulness.

Days of thanksgiving and remembering.

Giving thanks to those who have sacrificed.

Our heroes, who fought and gave of their lives.

We thank you! We thank you! We thank you!

Our heroes of now and of yesterday.

Under God, our country remains free.

And our country has enjoyed liberty.

Praise God for our Soldiers who stand for right.

Praise God for the brave, praise God we are free.

Praise God for our land, Praise God for his light.

Praise God for his blessing both day and night.

We thank you! We thank you! We thank you!

For all the sacrifices you have made.

May God bless you today and all your days.

Praise God for you and the good ole USA.

Psalms Praise 147:1-7 Audio

This is a wonderful passage of scripture that teaches us to praise the Lord. It actually tells us that praising the Lord is good, that is pleasant and that it is comely. Comely means it’s graceful. God draws close to us when we praise him and we feel his presence there when we choose to praise him. It brings comfort to our souls. God responds and reacts to praise in miraculous ways. Over and over again people prayed to the Lord and praised his name even through their trial. God answered with a miracle. Praising the Lord heals us in so many ways.

The Odd Ball

The Odd Ball

The rooster cock-a- doodle -doos ;
Good morning how are you?
The sun with warmth kisses the cheek;
From  sky of morning hues.

The chicken sits upon new eggs.
She laid in early morn;
The farmer rises still while dark;
To feed them all with corn.

Amongst the chickens clucking  there;
One odd ball stands so tall.
He  has a beak and feathers though;
He's not the same at all.

He walks around and struts his stuff;
He must not know his fate.
I wonder if he knew the truth;
Would turkey fill our plate?

Thank the Lord for yummy turkey;
 for giblet gravy too.
Just remember to be thankful
Cause, the turkey could be you.

Noah's Ark Part 2 - A New Beginning

Noah And The Ark Part 2

A New Beginning

Now I realize that many people might say, "What does Noah's ark have to do with Thanksgiving?"
First of all. remember last week we all pretended to build an ark and I told you an ark is a great big boat or ship.

I was reminded this past week ,while thinking about this week's lesson, that the Pilgrims traveled by ship to what they called the new world .  It was a new beginning,  just as it was for Noah and his family.

Noah and his family were on the ark many,  many days.  It rained for forty days and in that time, I'm sure, they thought about all those people who rejected God.  They were so glad they listened to God.

 Noah and his family must of had many chores to do.  Taking care of all those animals kept them busy and entertained.  We all know that God's creation IS very entertaining.  They all sound different .  They all look different, they are individual miracles, created by the hand and mind of God.

Even though there was  plenty to do,  I'm sure they wondered if they would ever see land again.

After the rain stopped  Noah sent out a raven and it returned to the ark because it had no place to land. He waited seven days and sent out another bird, a dove, and it returned with nothing, then he waited again another seven days and again sent out the dove.  The dove returned with an olive branch, so Noah knew the water was going down.

Soon they would land upon the top of a mountain, Mount Ararat.  I'm sure they were excited to get off the ark.  It was a new world awaiting them.  A new beginning.  They had so much to do, they were the only people left in the world.  How tempted they must have been to leave the ark as soon as it landed.  But they waited until God told them it was time.

Then Noah heard something, God spoke to him again.  He said it was time for His family and all of the animals to leave the ark.   They worked until all the work was done.  Then Noah, built an altar to the Lord, and offered sacrifices.  Thanksgiving, to Lord God for the new world.  Starting things out right, they worshiped Him.

Noah and his family had so much for which to be thankful.  They must have felt as though the whole world belonged to them.  Noah's family was saved.  They were spared because they believed God and obeyed him.

Then God did something.  He did something beautiful.  A giant rainbow appeared and Noah and his family looked up at the many colors.  God told him it was a covenant between God and man,  A covenant is a promise.  God promised never to destroy the world with water again.

Did you know that God always keeps his promises?  God has many promises throughout the Word of God.  One  that comes to my mind this morning, is that, " God will never leave us nor forsake us. "

God was with Noah and his family because they loved him and obeyed him.  They put God first.  All the people who died in the flood did not choose to love God nor did they choose to believe him.
Noah and His family were Thankful to God and they had a time of Thanksgiving to the Lord.

Which brings my thoughts back to the first Thanksgiving of America.  They remembered the Lord and gave thanks to him for all his provisions. They celebrated the many blessings of Lord.  They trusted the many promises of scripture.  They knew God keeps his promises.  They too saw the rainbow created by God and thought of God's goodness to Noah and his family, after all they too had a new beginning after a long voyage.

God is the God of new beginnings, not only in the true stories we learned about today, but also in our own lives.  God's desire is that we trust Christ as our Savior. Jesus died for our sins.  If we believe God and put our trust in Christ for our salvation the promise becomes real in our hearts.,

Noah and His family believed God. They built and entered the ark  and were saved from the floods.  When we trust and accept Christ we are saved from our sins.  We are saved through what Christ did at the cross.

Noah and his family left the ark just as Christ left the empty tomb into a new life.  That's what happens in our heart when we trust Christ. Let's read this verse together.

2 Corinthians 5:17

Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

Father God,  Thank-You for all your many blessing to us each day.  This thanksgiving season we want to remember how good you have been in providing salvation to us and also our everyday needs.
Be with each one here today and open their eyes to your Word. Thank - you so much for each person here and bless them as they walk with you.

In Christ Jesus Name I Pray, Amen

                                                      American Indian Hymn

Bible Lesson:
November 23rd,2014
Genesis 8
[1a] And God remembered Noah, and every living thing, .............
[4] And the ark rested in the seventh month, on the seventeenth day of the month, upon the mountains of Ararat.
[5] And the waters decreased continually until the tenth month: in the tenth month, on the first day of the month, were the tops of the mountains seen.
[6] And it came to pass at the end of forty days, that Noah opened the window of the ark which he had made:
[7] And he sent forth a raven, which went forth to and fro, until the waters were dried up from off the earth.
[11] And the dove came in to him in the evening; and, lo, in her mouth was an olive leaf pluckt off: so Noah knew that the waters were abated from off the earth.
[15] And God spake unto Noah, saying,
[16] Go forth of the ark, thou, and thy wife, and thy sons, and thy sons' wives with thee.
[20] And Noah builded an altar unto the LORD; and took of every clean beast, and of every clean fowl, and offered burnt offerings on the altar.
[21] And the LORD smelled a sweet savour; and the LORD said in his heart, I will not again curse the ground any more for man's sake; for the imagination of man's heart is evil from his youth; neither will I again smite any more every thing living, as I have done..
Chapter 9:
 [13] I do set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a token of a covenant between me and the earth.
[14] And it shall come to pass, when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the bow shall be seen in the cloud:
