Bible Poem ~ Noah

NOAH

How’d you get all those hens,
Birds and cats, and goats back then?
How’d they come to just that place?
Did some of them have to race?

The rain would come,
But not before
Noah got them in and
God shut the door!

Now, tell me true,
Did none of them fight
When they had to stay there,
On the boat, all night?

And I can guess,
When the water went away,
They had an awful crowd
At the door, that day!

They must have stuck around.
For, a rainbow, high,
Was shining, right there,
In the big, blue, sky!

A rainbow is a promise
That God’s word is true,
A promise that He’ll always
Love me and you.

Bible Poem ~ Gideon

GIDEON

He thought he was a farmer.
But, then, the angel came.
He called him "Mighty Warrior".
Why, he knew Gideon’s name!

He took his father’s wagon
And pulled the idol down.
They had an awful ruckus,
In Gideon’s town!

Many men made soldiers.
But, God said, "No!
A bunch of these guys
Will have to go!

I don’t make mistakes,
And I want the world to know
That I won the battle,
Not you men from below!

Take your soldiers for a drink.
Let a few more go.
Those that lap like dogs,
Well, send those fellows home!

Now, sneak into the camp site
Of your enemy.
Get your lanterns ready,
Bugles on key.

Shout, 'I serve the living God!'
Praise Me and, now, sing!
Know you serve a living God
Who can do anything!"

Bible Poem ~ David

DAVID

Little David, shepherd boy,
Sleeping there beneath the stars -
You may not know it, yet, but God
Knows the wonder that you are!

Just because you had to fight
To save your flock from enemies,
You were strengthened, in your soul,
And did for God a mighty thing!

Little David, with his sling -
Goliath (great and mighty, tall,
Armored, and so highly trained)
Fell the hardest of them all!

Little David, now the King,
Still can play the harp and lyre,
Sing the songs of God on high,
With the Spirit’s mighty power!

Making Fall Count

Treasure Box Preschool ~ Fall

Making Fall Count

1 - 2 - 3
Rake the leaves;
Into a pile of fun.
4 -5 -6
Do some flips;
Start out with a run.
7 - 8- 9
fall is a time;
To enjoy the leaves.
Then comes 10;
Jump right in;
With your playtime friends.

I'm sure that when God created the fall season
He had children in mind when He gave us the leaves.

What's The Deal with Lightning Bugs?

What's The Deal With Lightning Bugs?

-----
What is the deal with lightning bugs? I mean, here is this rather ordinary looking flying insect, but wait ... it has a glow-in-the-dark rear end! What was God thinking?
I'm sure science has all kinds of explanations about how this fluorescent fanny is useful for mating and other stuff, but why did God choose to make the lightning bug glow? I wonder if, when God was creating all the animals and everything around us, he came up with the idea of the lightning bug and said, "The kids are gonna love this."
We know that God loves us enough to create all the things we need to survive, but does God love us so much He created some things just to make us smile?
Just seeing lightning bugs takes me back to those warm summer nights of my youth. I'd be running around the back yard with my empty Mason jar, racing toward the flashing lights all around me. I can still feel the joy and hear the laughter echoing through my memories. Lightning bugs were as much a part of summer as fireworks, fresh tomatoes, and big ice-cold slabs of juicy watermelon. (I also have a theory of why God made watermelon seeds the perfect size to spit, but that is another story.)
God created so much diversity in this world, much more than is needed for mere survival. He made all of this for us, and He wants us to enjoy it.
We can get so busy surrounding ourselves with man-made goods that we don't notice the living tapestry God has laid out all around us.
I guess lightning bugs do have a purpose after all. They are a reminder of a creative God who loves us so much, He'd even paint the rear end of a bug ... just to see us smile ...

Fright Night ~ By: Belinda Van Rensburg

Fright Night

by Belinda van Rensburg

In the deepest, darkest night
After I've switched off the light
Creatures lurk within my room
Planning my demise and doom.

They slither, slink and crawl around
Making not the slightest sound;
Waiting with abated breath
To pounce and scare me half to death.

My heart is pounding in my chest
I'm scared to breathe or move 'round lest
The monsters hiding 'neath my bed
Decide it's time that they were fed.

I am so scared; what should I do?
Night after dark night I go through
The same emotions; fear and fright
As soon as I've turned off my light.

I remember someone said
(or is it something that I read?)
We should never, ever fear
For God's Spirit's always near.

I'm not alone: He's here with me
And scary monsters must all flee;
When in Jesus's Name I pray
They have to leave and stay away.

I say a prayer and sing a song
Whilst unseen angels sing along;
They've come to guard me as I sleep;
To slay all things which crawl and creep

Every Day’s a School Day

Every Day’s a School Day

By: Susan Y Nikitenko

Every day’s a school day;
When you’re a child of the King.
Listen now, my dear children;
Do you hear the school bells ring?

Listen and be attentive;
Keep your nose in God’s schoolbook.
Learn Life’s valuable lessons;
Open it now and take a look.

The lessons of forgiveness;
Keep you standing firm and strong.
The lessons of Gods great love;
Gives your heart a happy song.

It teaches us to follow;
Our Lord and His great commands.
And instructs us to go forth;
Giving truth to every man.

The school of higher learning;
Is Run by our Holy Lord.
He teaches through example;
How to live in this lost world.

Every day’s a school day;
We are tested ‘long life’s way.
So be prepared my children;
Study day to day and pray.

Follow holy instruction;
Let the Bible show the Way.
And if you learn and heed it;
My child you’ll get an A.

2 Timothy 2:15
Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman
that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

Let's March to the Beat of God's Heart

March To The Beat Of God's Heart - Flashshcards

Let's March to the Beat of God's Heart

children's song
by: Susan Nikitenko July 2010

Let's march to the beat of God's heart
March to the beat of grace
Let's hear those feet... hit the ground
A consistent pace

Sing" Onward Christian Soldiers"
With victory as our goal
Tell others Jesus loves them
And win a wandering soul

Onward, Forward, here we go!
Stomp, Stomp , Stomp ...Hear the sound?

Let's march to the beat of God's heart
Till all the walls fall down

Let's march to the beat of God's heart
March to the beat of love
Let's hear those feet hit the ground
With strength from Him above

Sing Glory, Hallelujah
With Heart and mind and voice
Bring Glory to our Savior
Remember to rejoice

Onward, Forward, here we go
Stomp, Stomp , Stomp ...Hear the sound?

Let's march to the beat of God's heart
Spread the Good News round.
Spread the Good News round.

Grandma's Blankets - By: Susan Y Nikitenko

Grandma's Blankets
By Susan Y Nikitenko 2010

While Grandma's hands crocheted in grace;
Each blanket for her lovely ones.
She prayed the prayers that Grandmas do;
For family, friends, and all till done.

Each single stitch, She stitched in love;
She wrapped her gifts with fancy wrap.
With smile, she kissed each cheek that passed;
And hugged each one upon her lap.

And while each child tore paper way;
She'd smile a smile that shined to say;
I love you dears, you are my joy.
The blankets then became their play.

Bobby hid beneath the red one;
And Kristin Hid beneath the blue.
And cuddled sweetly with her doll;
Was the littlest one named Sue.

When bedtime came they all were tucked;
And faithfully each child obeyed.
Curled up in blankets stitched with love;
Each child took turns and sweetly prayed.

Grandma rocked, in her fav'rite chair;
With Bible stories on her knee.
And read to them, most ev'ry night;
And hugged and kissed them, faithfully.

A pretend story about love and prayer that has a true message. A message of faithfulness, faith and family.

In this poem Grandma lives with the family as a widow. She spends her time with the children teaching them valuable lessons and giving them memories that will last a lifetime. Let us not forget that choices do effect others no matter how old we get.

Win the Worry War - (Song) - By: Susan Y Nikitenko

Win the Worry War

(children's song)
by: Susan y Nikitenko August 2010

Win the Worry War
Win the Worry War

Know God has all control.
Ask for His protection;
When problems vex your soul.

Hold the hand of Jesus.
His will is right for you.
He knows ev'ry problem;
That you are going through.

Win the Worry War
Win the Worry War

Sweet Jesus loves us so.
When we-- become His child;
He wants our faith to grow.

Trust-- in the Word of God;
Put on your gospel shoes.
Winners in our Jesus;
In Him we cannot lose.

Win the Worry War
Win the Worry War

By faith we pass the test.
Though at time we question;
The faithful will be blessed.

When you want to worry;
Just bow your head and pray.
Ask the Lord to help you;
Then let faith lead the way.

.... let faith lead the way.

Win the Worry War
Win the Worry War
(Fade Out)
Win the Worry War
Win the Worry War

Cha Cha Choose -

Cha Cha Choose

I hear a train a comin’
Comin’ down the track
Let’s make a choice and catch it
Hear the whistling, steaming stack?

Cha Cha Choose, Cha Cha Choose, Cha Cha Choose

Listen people, listen
This is the Jesus train
All those that get upon it
Heaven is their gain

Cha Cha Choose, Cha Cha Choose, Cha Cha Choose

Come on! Run! Catch it!
Before it’s to late
You must be on it
Before it meets the gate

Cha Cha Choose, Cha Cha Coose, Cha Cha Choose

Heaven is the destination
The cost it is for free
It was paid in full
Upon the cross of Calvary

Cha Cha Choose, Cha Cha Choose, Cha Cha Choose

You must take the ticket
Hurry! Get on board!
Choose you, this day
To serve, our loving Lord

Cha Cha Choose, Cha Cha Choose, Cha Cha Choose

Joshua 24:15b …….. choose you this day whom ye will serve…..

Happy Heavenly Birthday - By: Susan Y Nikitenko

Happy Heavenly Birthday

Fun party horns, hats, presents and games;
Floating balloons, cake, candles aflame.
Children Singing "Happy Birthday To You".
On birthdays that's what most children do.

Angelic hosts praise in heaven;
When one lost sinner is forgiven.
The seeking sinner becomes God's child;
Salvation, redemption, sunshine smiles.

Hear the birthday party of angels?
Hear the whistling, horns and jangles?
A celebration in the heavens;
Over one soul who's been forgiven.

Angles just praising, praising, praising;
The music just raising, raising, raising.
Shouts of joyfulness sounding around;
Because of that one lost sinner found.

Happy heavenly birthday of praise;
When at last that wand'ring one is saved.
Broken are the chains of sin and shame;
Born again in Christ and not the same.

Who knows what wonders rotate above?
Who can really understand His love?
Who has heard the music of heaven;
When the clouds vibrate celebration?

Angles just praising, praising, praising;
The music just raising, raising, raising.
Shouts of joyfulness sounding around;
Because of that one lost sinner found.

Children's Song

 Luke 15:7 I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance.
 Luke 15:10 Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth.

I couldn't sleep this morning, it's early in the morning. I have been cleaning house and also working on my blog,  I found this song I wrote in 2011.   The song is about the rejoicing that happens in heaven when one's soul comes to the Lord for salvation.  When I speak of a soul I talk about a person, every person has a soul. Without Jesus we have a lost soul and when a person  trusts in Jesus our soul becomes saved.  When someone trusts Christ as Saviour, they become a child of God.  They are adopted into God's family.  God tells us how to become his child in the Word of God.  When someone gets saved, that's when you become a born again Christian.  When someone becomes a born-again Christian something happens in heaven.  In this song is one way it could be  celebrated in heaven, but none of us really know exactly what will happen, we just know that the Bible says the angels rejoice every time somebody becomes saved..  So this song is kind of a real but also a pretend song, that maybe, just maybe, the celebration could be like.  It's just a fun song to help us understand that when someone gets saved, all of heaven stands up and takes notice.  It is a joyful day.

Jesus and His Jewels - Revised 2017

Jesus and His Jewels

Jewels, jewels, Jesus and His jewels;
Dear and precious in His sight,
Jesus loves His jewels.

He carries them to heaven;
Never losing one.
Polishing, He makes them shine.
He forms and shapes each one.

Oh, He makes them shine;
With beauty rare and bright.
Dear and precious in His sight;
He keeps them in His light.

Shining in His kingdom;
Rainbows all around.
Reflecting off His Holy light;
Twinkling colors found.

Jewels, jewels, Jesus and His jewels;
Dear and precious in His sight,
Jesus loves His jewels.

He holds them in His hands;
Admires them with care.
Jewels, reflect His Holy face;
While angels watch them there.

Gods children are His jewels.
they are precious to Him.
Delighting in His children;
With love and care for them.

2010 Revised 2017

John 6:37-39
All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him
that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.
For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will,
but the will of him that sent me.
And this is the Father's will which hath sent me,
that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing,
but should raise it up again at the last day.

Forever and Ever - (Song) - By: Susan Y Nikitenko

Forever and Ever

7/14/2011

(children’s song) 2nd version
By : Susan Y Nikitenko

Forever, and ever;
He’ll leave me, no never.
How good He is to me.

Forever, and ever;
He’ll blame me, no never.
His death, has set me free. -- Amen!

Forever, and ever;
His love stops, no never.
Glad, I belong to Him.

Forever, and ever;
He’ll fail me, no never.
On Him, I can depend. -- Praise God!

Forever, and ever;
I’m washed,  forever;
Forgiven, of all my sin.

Forever, and ever;
One day, forever;
I’ll live, in heaven with Him.
I’ll live, in heaven with Him. -- Amen!

God's Tool Box - By: Susan Y Nikitenko

God’s Toolbox
By: Susan Y Nikitenko 2010

My daddy had a toolbox;
Filled with his pride and joy.
Every little tool he had;
To him it was his toy.

If you took one out;
You’d better put it back.
Or you’d get a spankin’;
But love he didn’t lack.

I would often help him;
Though, I am a girl.
Then, when he was finished;
He’d swing me in a whirl.

I would, just, giggle happily.
I loved my daddy so.
Everywhere my daddy went;
I would want to go.

Our Father, has a toolbox.
It’s filled with special tools.
Each one has a job to do;
The tool, it could be you.

Each tool to Him is special;
For, if He looses one.
He will not stop searching;
Until the search is done.

Because, all tools are unique;
And needed for His work.
When He has a job to do;
He uses me and uses you.

Perhaps, you are the hammer;
Perhaps, you are the nails.
All important in His sight;
To get the job, done right.

God’s toolbox is the church;
Filled with His precious tools.
Each one special, everyone;
To get His purpose done.

Be a willing little tool.
In our Father’s Box.
When He chooses you;
For a certain job to do.

And when you please our Father;
Just as, me, my daddy too.
God will send you blessings.
When your job is through.

Parallel
This would be good as a piano solo.
A storytelling piano solo or - guitar

It does not have a Chorus

We are Unique

The story in this poem is partly fictional,
sometimes it was a hug or just a nice word.
But my daddy loved me and all His children.
All my poems with stories both real and fictional
designed to illustrate a biblical truth.

We are tools in God's toolbox;
We seek his attention.
Each are valuable to God.
A unit that works as one.

1Corinthians 12:14-18

For the body is not one member, but many.
If the foot shall say, Because I am not the hand, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body?
And if the ear shall say, Because I am not the eye, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body?
If the whole body were an eye, where were the hearing? If the whole were hearing, where were the smelling?
But now hath God set the members every one of them in the body, as it hath pleased him.

explanation:

Father in this poem means our heavenly Father.

Like as in the prayer "our Father who art in heaven."

Toolbox Object Lesson -

Bible Reading
Psalms 119: 123- 176

Mine eyes fail for thy salvation, and for the word of thy righteousness.
Deal with thy servant according unto thy mercy, and teach me thy statutes.
 I am thy servant; give me understanding, that I may know thy testimonies.
 It is time for thee, LORD, to work: for they have made void thy law.
Therefore I love thy commandments above gold; yea, above fine gold.
 Therefore I esteem all thy precepts concerning all things to be right; and I hate every false way.
 Thy testimonies are wonderful: therefore doth my soul keep them.
 The entrance of thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple.
 I opened my mouth, and panted: for I longed for thy commandments.
 Look thou upon me, and be merciful unto me, as thou usest to do unto those that love thy name. Order my steps in thy word: and let not any iniquity have dominion over me.
 Deliver me from the oppression of man: so will I keep thy precepts.
 Make thy face to shine upon thy servant; and teach me thy statutes.
Rivers of waters run down mine eyes, because they keep not thy law.
. Righteous art thou, O LORD, and upright are thy judgments.
Thy testimonies that thou hast commanded are righteous and very faithful. My zeal hath consumed me, because mine enemies have forgotten thy words.  Thy word is very pure: therefore thy servant loveth it.
 I am small and despised: yet do not I forget thy precepts.
Thy righteousness is an everlasting righteousness, and thy law is the truth.
 Trouble and anguish have taken hold on me: yet thy commandments are my delights.  The righteousness of thy testimonies is everlasting: give me understanding, and I shall live.
 I cried with my whole heart; hear me, O LORD: I will keep thy statutes.
 I cried unto thee; save me, and I shall keep thy testimonies.
I prevented the dawning of the morning, and cried: I hoped in thy word.
 Mine eyes prevent the night watches, that I might meditate in thy word.
 Hear my voice according unto thy lovingkindness: O LORD, quicken me according to thy judgment.
 They draw nigh that follow after mischief: they are far from thy law.
Thou art near, O LORD; and all thy commandments are truth.
Concerning thy testimonies, I have known of old that thou hast founded them for ever.
. Consider mine affliction, and deliver me: for I do not forget thy law.
 Plead my cause, and deliver me: quicken me according to thy word.
Salvation is far from the wicked: for they seek not thy statutes.
 Great are thy tender mercies, O LORD: quicken me according to thy judgments.
Many are my persecutors and mine enemies; yet do I not decline from thy testimonies.
I beheld the transgressors, and was grieved; because they kept not thy word.
 Consider how I love thy precepts: quicken me, O LORD, according to thy lovingkindness.
Thy word is true from the beginning: and every one of thy righteous judgments endureth for ever.Princes have persecuted me without a cause: but my heart standeth in awe of thy word.
I rejoice at thy word, as one that findeth great spoil.
 I hate and abhor lying: but thy law do I love.
Seven times a day do I praise thee because of thy righteous judgments.
Great peace have they which love thy law: and nothing shall offend them.
 LORD, I have hoped for thy salvation, and done thy commandments.
 My soul hath kept thy testimonies; and I love them exceedingly.
 I have kept thy precepts and thy testimonies: for all my ways are before thee.
Let my cry come near before thee, O LORD: give me understanding according to thy word.
 Let my supplication come before thee: deliver me according to thy word.
My lips shall utter praise, when thou hast taught me thy statutes.
 My tongue shall speak of thy word: for all thy commandments are righteousness.
Let thine hand help me; for I have chosen thy precepts.
I have longed for thy salvation, O LORD; and thy law is my delight.
Let my soul live, and it shall praise thee; and let thy judgments help me.
 I have gone astray like a lost sheep; seek thy servant; for I do not forget thy commandments.

1 John 4:3
And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.
2 John 1:7
For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist.
1 John 4:1 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.
Mark 13:22
For false Christs and false prophets shall rise, and shall shew signs and wonders, to seduce, if it were possible, even the elect.
