Something Was Not Good- What Was It? Lesson Part 2 - Submitting To God's Plan

Genesis  2:24-25
 Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.   And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed.

  Last week we talked about how it was not good that man should be alone.  God created Eve from Adam's rib.  Eve had partaken of the fruit that God had said not to eat or touch. Eve offered to Adam, who also partook of the forbidden fruit.  It was then that sin had entered into the world and everything changed for them.

    Adam and Eve were naked in the Garden and did not know it.  It was the first time they knew they were naked. So it was then that they sewed fig leaves together and made coverings for themselves.
God called for them, but they hid in fear of God and felt ashamed of themselves.  They could not hide their sin from God,  just as we cannot hide our sin from God today.

    It was then that Adam blamed his wife for his disobedience to God.  God did not accept that it was all Eves fault, though she should have obeyed her husband.  Eve also blamed the serpent for her sin and God would not accept Eves excuses.  God held each one accountable for the things that had taken place in the garden.  The husband would have to labor harder to make a living, the wife was to submit under the authority of her husband and also go through pain in childbearing.

Genesis 3:10-19
 And he said, I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; and I hid myself.
And he said, Who told thee that thou wast naked?  Hast thou eaten of the tree, whereof I commanded thee that thou shouldest not eat?
And the man said, The woman whom thou gavest to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I did eat.
And the LORD God said unto the woman, What is this that thou hast done? And the woman said, The serpent beguiled me, and I did eat.
And the LORD God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life:
And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.
Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee.
And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life;
Thorns also and thistles shall it bring forth to thee; and thou shalt eat the herb of the field; In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.
And Adam called his wife's name Eve; because she was the mother of all living.

     Things changed after the disobedience of Adam and Eve.  If Eve wanted to please God with her life she would follow the plan that God had communicated to them.  She would willingly submit herself under the authority of her husband.  She would do this not only to obey God but also to reside under God's protection.  Her husband was also there for her protection.  The world became a dangerous place for them.  The world became a dying place and a violent place.

They had to leave the perfect Garden that God had given them and could no longer eat of the tree of life.  They were driven from the garden and angels stood guard over the tree of life.

Adam had to plant their own garden by the sweat of his brow and blisters on his hands and tiredness after a long hard day.  This did not exist before sin.

God gave them the plan for pleasing Him, under new circumstances including the yearly sacrifices.
 Adam would submit to God in the leading of His family and at his leading direct his family into the family structure God had laid out to them.   God is pleased with us when we choose to follow His Word, his way.  Adam was to lead his family and direct His family into the ways of God.

God wants to bless us as we obey Him and trust Him even though it may be hard for us to do.  It's not always easy to put ourselves under the authority of someone else.  To be humble in the sight of God, we must be willing to place ourselves under the authority he has placed over us.  The man is to protect and love his family and provide under God's plan for the family.  The wife and the children are to submit to the authority of the man as He submits to God and gives account to God for our souls. Children are to obey the mother in the home under the authority of the husband.  Though all are equal in importance to God. God has given us a place to serve Him within the family structure.

  The Bible teaches the husband and wife to submit to one to another.  There are times that the wife protects her husband, that's why the Bible teaches us to submit one to another.  The Bible teaches us to submit to the authorities in our lives. Though the wife is not an authority over the man in the family,  He at times submits to her advice because He needs her to take that role under certain circumstances. (An example would be a sick husband or a very tired one.)
  Your parents are given authority over you, they are there to protect and teach you.  To obey your parents and not grieve their hearts brings joy to God.    God blesses children who bless their parents, even in their old age.

Hebrews  13:17
Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you.
1Peter 5:5
Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble.

    We know sometimes there are troubles in families- that are very, very difficult,  the bible speaks of these kinds of  situations.  I had some difficult things happen in my childhood, I could of became bitter about them,  though I didn't live perfectly, I continued to cry out to God to change me and to help me do what's right.  I could of become bitter over some things.    I could even become bitter over some things  today, but rather, by the grace of God, choose to seek God and His grace.
    Though none are perfect and we have had bad days, we just continue and ask God to help us to do better.  Stay in the Word of God, love him and obey him.  Our number one goal as Christians is to love and please God with our lives.  If we love God we will love others in both action and word, especially between husband, wife and children.  If we love God we will not be too prideful to follow his plan, his way.
   If we have fallen short as Christians, in these things,  we must get back up, dust off discouragement.  Move forward into new hope and trust God all over again.  We can have renewed faith and renewed strength knowing we are forgiven of our failures and  can begin again.
  Let us hold ourselves accountable unto God.  To help us through our difficulties and know that our goals are much bigger than this world.

  Let us seek God today and pray,
Father God,  We come to you and ask you to help us obey the authorities over us with joy and with forgiveness in humbleness.  Help us each one to respect and love them for Christ sake.  Father you know  our difficulties and our hardships, help us to continue in your joy knowing that you work through our problems to make us and mold us into the person you want us to become.  Help us to love and to bring joy to those you have put over us.  I pray these things in the name of Christ Jesus amen.

Memory Verse
Hebrew 13:17
Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you.

Something Was Not Good- What Was It? Lesson Part 1

Something Was Not Good- What Was It?
Lesson Part 1

        We've been talking about creation and the fall into sin of mankind.  I believe it's important for us to learn a little about Adam and Eve before we go into another biblical true story.  One wonderful thing about our loving God is that He loves us and He cares about how we feel.  I think Adam became very needful of a helper and friend.  He saw all the animals that God had made, every living thing had a mate, but  Adam didn't have one.  God said for the first time, after saying His creation was good, that something was not good.  He said, that it wasn't good for man to be alone.  Adam talked to God all the time, so maybe He asked why He didn't have a mate?
     God put Adam into a deep sleep and God removed one of his ribs.  Then closed up his flesh and took the rib and formed Eve and brought her to meet Adam.  Adam said something about Eve when He met her.   Adam said, "This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man." Genesis 2:23
    Adam and Eve were the very first creations made in the image of God.  Though all creation was beautiful and spectacular, they were not like the creation of people.
Genesis1:26
And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
 Genesis 1:27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
   Everything was perfect in the garden that God had made them.  No sin had ever been committed, no argument ever happened, only peace and tranquility abounded.  No animal or person had died or grew old during this time in biblical history.
   There was only one rule that God had given for them to obey.  They were allowed to eat of every tree of the garden but they could not eat of one tree,  the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.  God warned them that if they did they would surely die.  Adam had a responsibility to tell his wife about this rule.  I'm sure He took her on long walks and talked about how he named all the animals and how God created the world.  Adam was a spiritual teacher to his wife.  He told her about the rule God had given Him.  She being part of Him was to obey that rule also.
   Adam and Eve were the first examples of Man and Wife and it is through them we learn the way God wants us to think of marriage today.  Adam and Eve did not have parents, God parented them and gave them a warning, do not eat of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.  He warned them that if they did that there would be serious consequences.
   While Eve was out enjoying her day.  She was nearby the forbidden tree and she noticed a serpent. The serpent talked to her and caught her attention.   The devil had disguised himself as a serpent and tricked Eve into believing a lie.  He basically convinced her that God was not being honest and was being selfish.  Eve was told ahead of time not eat of the forbidden fruit but Eve was caused to doubt God.  She took a bite and when Adam came along she offered it to Him and He also ate of it.
   The devil has the power to disguise himself.  The bible teaches us that the devil disguises himself as an angel of light.  He may appear to be very good and even shine like an angel, but He is a deceiver and an enemy to God and all believers.  When someone teaches contrary to what the Bible teaches, He is a deceiver and is doing the work of Satan.
    My daughter, was only three years old when she had a very upsetting dream.   She woke startled and fearful.  I comforted her and rocked her and asked her what was wrong.  In her little child voice, she told me an angel was trying to bind her with chains.  I asked her what the angel looked like and she said it was like a normal angel.  I told her it wasn't a good angel if He was trying to put her in chains.  I told her it was just a dream, prayed with her and sang to calm her heart.
   In this way, her dream was true, that Satan does desire to trap us and deceive us.  Just as He did Adam and Eve.  It could be drugs, alcohol, rebellion, wrong priorities or false doctrine.  There are many things that Satan could use to hinder our walk with God.
     That day, Adam and Eve died spiritually to God and for the first time started to die physically.  Heartache started on the day they sinned because God was not happy with them and guilt filled their heart.
     Sin always brings heartache and trouble.

Adams sin brought sin upon all mankind and because of this, we are all born in our sins.  All people need a Saviour.  God gave his only begotten Son to pay for our sins upon a cruel cross of suffering.  He paid our sin debt.

We will all have a day to die and the question is "where will we go?"  Heaven or Hell.  God wants every person to be saved.  He's not willing that any should perish.   He leaves that decision up to you.  Don't believe the devil.  Jesus loves you and wants you to trust Him right now.

Father God, I come to you in the name of your Son Jesus Christ,  I ask if there is anyone here that has fallen into some temptation, or has been pulled away from you in any way, that you will speak to their hearts today.  I pray they will come back to you with a renewed heart.  I pray that you will heal their hurts.  I pray that you would deliver them from evil.  I pray that you will save the souls of those seeking forgiveness and salvation.  Open hearts to your truth today and break the binds of sin.   In the name of Christ and His shed blood, I pray this.  Amen

Lesson

Galatians
 1:8-9 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.
 As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.

I Wonder What Adam Had to Say

Genesis 2:7
And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.
Genesis 2:15
And the LORD God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it

I Wonder What Adam Had To Say

God made the seas  that sparkle in the light of a bright new morning,
 The reflecting sunset setting side a glowing moon at peace,
He made the stars to shine above in a dark wide sky, I wonder why.
He made the feeling of rest, just being blest in a silent pleasant breeze.

God made trees with fancy leaves, filled with fruit and nuts to taste;
And the thrill of  the rolling hills, that shine bright in clover red.
He made the sheep that graze an oasis of peaceful waters;
And the deer with her fawn upon a leafy forest bed.

I wonder what Adam had to say, when he woke up on that day;
To see for the first time the great creation, that God had made.
He was formed from the dust of the ground, woke up to sight and to sound;
I'm sure He was awed at the good works of God, on that great day.

God made the crickets to sing together on the summer nights,
The rooster to crow good-morning  with a how do you do. Cockeldoodledoooo
He made the birds with wings , they love to  fly and to sing all day.
He made forests  and streams, waters that fall and ev'ry day new.

He made the day and the night, He made everything right;
The lizard, the frog, the ox , the dog, and the kitten so small.
The rowdy chipmunk, the squirrel and the skunk, but it didn't stink;
The bird and the beasts, the great and the least,  God made them all

I wonder what Adam had to say, when he woke up on that day;
To see for the first time the great creation, that God had made.
He was formed from the dust of the ground, woke up to sight and to sound;
I'm sure He was awed at the good works of God, on that great day.

 He woke up to God, who gave him a face  in a perfect place.
 He woke up to a blue sky, cranes flying by, the grass at his feet;
Elephants, kangaroos, chimpanzees  and zebras too.
He walked in the garden by the trees, found lots of food to eat.

All the animals gathered around Him, he gave each one a name;
The bunny, the bat, the raccoon, the cat, and the tiger too.
 He could set back and rest and knew he was blest, in his new world;
In the garden that God had made him, He had plenty to do.

I wonder what Adam had to say, when he woke up on that day;
To see for the first time the great creation, that God had made.
He was formed from the dust of the ground, woke up to sight and to sound;
I'm sure He was awed at the good works of God, on that great day.

Our Bundle of Joy

Our Bundle Of Joy

When babies are born they cry at birth.  I always have heard that babies were spanked at birth because it cleared out the air passage to the lungs.  Babies cry normally for food or any discomfort, but laughter is something that comes later, at least it did with Anna.  Anna is my 5 1/2-month-old granddaughter.

Anna started laughing in her sleep around 3 1/2  months old.  My daughter told me she could hear her laugh in the middle of the night in her sleep.  This happened a few times until the day I was in the middle of changing her clothes.  I was taking her little shirt off and my fingers were under her arm while I was trying to take her arm out of her sleeve.  She started laughing and even surprised herself.  I had discovered Anna is ticklish under the arms and also under her chin.  The day that Anna learned to smile and laugh has brought laughter and smiles to every gathering of our church and family since.  When Anna smiles the whole room starts smiling.  When Anna was born she looked so grumpy,  and other people noticed she looked grumpy but she had not learned how to smile yet.   Just because she looked grumpy didn't mean she was.  It amazes me how a new baby can bring so much joy.  I'm sure that's why we call new babies a "bundle of joy".

Something Anna has learned, as young as she is, is to be gentle.  She's learned how to reach her hands to my face.  Anna has reached both hands to my face and looked into my eyes, cooing.  It was definitely a way to say " I love you."  Last night I was so surprised by her.  She had bit down too hard on her teething ring and I rocked her and I let her know I felt bad for her.  I comforted her and she settled down.  Afterward, she put her right hand to my cheek, looked into my eyes, and talked away in baby language.  I can hardly describe the feeling of joy I felt when my grandbaby started talking to me with love in her eyes.  The look in her eyes brought me joy.  She is so sweet and seems especially smart to be able to express herself that way already.  I just do not remember my grown children expressing themselves the same way when they were infants.

When a new baby comes along everybody starts acting like children, Even grandpa.  Everybody makes funny voices and sounds.  The whole family joins in bouncing the baby. smiling with the baby, talking like a baby, and helping with the baby.  I have always heard there's no feeling so wonderful than to be a grandparent and I believe that to be true.  There is no doubt about it, Anna has been and is a bundle of joy.

Just A Thought I'm Pondering

I went to the zoo with my family and a very
 interesting thing happened.
 A little tiny four or five year old girl that I have never met
looked up at me and said "whoremonger."
I'm guessing she was repeating her parents.
  It wasn't hello or something friendly, just "whoremonger".
It's a shame that little children are being taught to be
mean to people.  She probably didn't even know
what she was saying but it was shocking and left an
imprint in my mind and heart.  The bible does say
whoremongers but I'm not sure that should be a
word that should be taught to little
children to say directly to someone.
Besides if for some reason the child thought I was a
whoremonger, why would she?

The New Things God Created

The New Things God Created

The bible doesn't  say that there will be any new animals or plants created by God.  We do know however, if He wanted to he could.  There are a couple instances in scripture that God promises new things under unusual circumstances.   They were miracles that involved temporary atmospheric  change not known to man.   Most of the time it was where circumstances and prayer meet, but sometimes it is the circumstance of sin.
   Before the curse of sin entered the world it was perfect , but after the fall of man the earth brought forth poisonous plants, and thorns.  Earth brought forth biting bugs and destructive larvae.  What once was harmless in the perfect world became harmful in a sinful world.  Death was daily in some form.
   One of the first atmospheric changes was the first time it rained upon the earth.  God's heart was grieved because the whole earth turned away from Him and chose even the vilest of sins to rule their hearts.  People's imaginations were evil continually.  God knows the heart of each person and He knew their hearts.  God took note of one person and His family, Noah and His family.  Noah was a man of faith and pleased God with his life.  God told Noah to build an ark, and to warn every person of a coming disaster that would befall the known world.   They didn't believe Noah, but laughed at Him and mocked him.  One hundred years He preached to a rebellious people, that hated God in their actions.  They had never seen rain before.  God destroyed all of the world with a flood that killed every living person upon the earth except eight people.  All creatures died except  two  of each kind of creature and animals for sacrifices.
  God created a new thing, a rainbow , the rainbow is a symbol of His promise  never  to destroy the world again with a flood.  The rainbow belongs to God and He gets full credit for it.  The name rainbow originated from God,  it is a proven fact that it belongs to God.   All the rights belong to Him.  God, meaning our great creator, who created the heaven and the earth. created the rainbow.  The rainbow was introduced to Noah and his family while they were praying and giving thanks with sacrifices for their sins unto God.

  God always keeps His promises, He never lies, He cannot lie because He is perfect.  He doesn't want us to lie either.  Even a little white lie, as some call it, is a sin to God.  It only takes one sin to need a Saviour.  Our Saviour is Christ Jesus who gave His life for our sins.  Forgiveness is available to all who believe and trust Christ for salvation.

God promises if we turn to Him, trust Him for salvation and give our lives to Him.  He will give us a new heart.
 Ezekiel  36:26
 A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.

The heart that God is talking about here is not our beating heart physically, but the center of everything we are and how we think.  It will be changed and we will become a new person in Christ.   God opens our hearts to the truth of His Word.  God desires that all people be saved from the punishment of eternal hell.  He offers the gift of eternal life to all who will accept Christ by faith. Christ then comes into our heart and abides with us day to day. We can pray directly to God through Christ.

2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

For years and years the Christian faith has used the butterfly as a symbol of becoming a new creature in Christ.  God is the author and maker of the butterfly.  It was one of the creatures on Noah's Ark.  The butterfly is the most beautiful insect of God's creation.   God gets full credit for the butterfly and owns all the rights.  He is the original author.

God causes a change within us when we believe, we become children of God.  We are adopted into the family of God.

 Romans 10:9  That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

In the old testament God makes a new thing as a judgment to those who provoke him.  There's a few times the Bible speaks of the earth swallowing up people who provoke Him.

Numbers 16:30
But if the LORD make a new thing, and the earth open her mouth, and swallow them up, with all that appertain unto them, and they go down quick into the pit; then ye shall understand that these men have provoked the LORD.

The bible teaches us to fear the Lord.   Wisdom will lead us to fear Him and love Him.  God speaks of hell more than He does about heaven. We all have a soul that lives forever and after we die we will go one of two places heaven or hell.  Our soul will leave our body and we will wake up in one of those places.  If we are truly children of God through Christ.  We will wake up in the presence of our God.  If we have rejected Christ and His way of salvation we will wake up in eternal fire and suffering.

Psalms  111:10 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth for ever.

Young People,
God's desire for you is to know Him and trust Him.  We are all sinners, we have all fallen short.  It is by God's love and mercy that we may find forgiveness for our souls.  God doesn't want anyone to go to hell, He's not willing that any perish into eternal damnation.  People have a choice to accept or reject Christ.  God leaves that up to you.  Choose you this day whom ye shall serve.   God has chosen to give you His Word. Faith cometh by hearing the Word of God.  Pray today to God and ask Him to help you understand His Word and He will help you to understand.  He knows if you really want to know.

Father God,  I pray that you will open the eyes of those listening today, that they will understand your
Word.  I pray that they would grow in wisdom today by realizing that there are circumstances for the choices we make in life.  Thank -you Lord for your mercy upon us.  Keep us from evil and direct our paths.

In Christ Name I Pray This, Amen

Genesis 9:11-15

And I will establish my covenant with you; neither shall all flesh be cut off any more by the waters of a flood; neither shall there any more be a flood to destroy the earth.
 And God said, This is the token of the covenant which I make between me and you and every living creature that is with you, for perpetual generations:
 I do set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a token of a covenant between me and the earth.
 And it shall come to pass, when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the bow shall be seen in the cloud:
 And I will remember my covenant, which is between me and you and every living creature of all flesh; and the waters shall no more become a flood to destroy all flesh.

Good Works Of God

    God chose to make the world and all that is in it in six  days.  If God wanted to He could create something new,  I do know that there are new discoveries of amazing things that are waiting yet to be discovered.
Perhaps it will be a cure for cancer or some other cure.
    On the first day of creation God made day and night.  God divided the light from the darkness.   God made heaven on the second day.  It didn't take God a thousand years to finish one day. It was a morning and an evening that made up the first day, just as we have morning and evening today.

 By reading the first chapter of the Bible you can learn of all that God created in six days.
Read  (Genesis 1.)

On each day God would look at what He had done and he looked at it knowing it was good.  The very last day of creation God looked at all His creation upon completion and He knew it was very good.  When God thinks something is good it is far better than we can ever imagine.  Perfect in it's completion. A beautiful new world.
  We know that God would not do a job halfway but He would complete whatever it is He does. The bible teaches us that God finishes what He starts.  We know however that God does change based upon our obedience and our disobedience.  We notice this with Adam and Eve.   They disobeyed and God's plans changed for them.  The same way today God deals with us based on our obedience and our disobedience to His Word. He chastens ( He will spank us) because we are His children and he wants us to continue in His good works of faith.  God finishes the work in us when we trust Christ as Saviour.  He works in our hearts as we follow Him and trust His Word for our daily lives.

  Philippians 1:6
Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ: {perform: or, finish}

 Revelations 3:19 As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.

Rare Flowers

This poem is about what happens on the inside
 when someone finds salvation in Christ Jesus.
Creation/ Salvation

Rare Flowers

By: Susan Y Nikitenko
Revised July 8th, 2010

If I found beautiful rare flowers;
I’d share this beauty with you.
In hopes that you would receive it;
And enjoy its fine beauty too.

God is the God of miracles;
This saying, though old, is true.
From the gleaming sun of creation;
To the loveliest orchid of blue.

From whispering winds of refreshment;
To showering splashes of streams.
From beautiful fields of flowers;
Colorful rainbows, bright stars, and dreams.

Each an amazing miracle;
Bringing faith to a doubting heart.
God’s hand has created great fountains;
In dry cold desert places of dark.

On dead soil, a desert lay waste;
Until the hand of God intervenes.
The miracle hand of God’s grace;
Sprouts flowers in places not seen.

I have found beautiful rare flowers;
Not known to the natural man.
Found in the places of God’s touch.
Flowers of faith, I hold in my clutch.

I will not keep this treasure to self;
But cast their beauty to the wind.
And ask the Lord to direct their flow.
Empty deserts, may you bloom and grow.

And as the Lord looked upon the deep;
A lifeless flow without form or void.
Transformed the dead, to light and life;
Filled with flowers, now so enjoyed.

I know a heart can be flowerless;
Dead and dark, in coldness and despair.
But the God of miracles and love;
Transforms, and makes alive, He cares.

Replaces the stones of deadness,
Replaces the spaces of dread,
With New Life, and fountains of His Joy;
He raises a soul from the dead.

Please take the flowers of kindness.
Please receive the flower of Grace.
Jesus died and arose in power.
Your heart can be transformed this hour.

May your heart bloom and shine in His grace;
When you see His gift of love so true.
Let the flower of faith bring life to you.
His great Salvation, will make you new.

 Ezekiel 36:26 A new heart also will I give you,
and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away
the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give
you an heart of flesh.

 2Corinthians 5:17
Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature:
 old things are passed away; behold,
all things are become new.

Light and Life - Lesson 4

Light and Life
Creation and The New Birth
 At the creation of the world, God moved upon the face of the deep.  The earth had no form or void.  It was desolate.  It was dead and in complete darkness.   There was  no birds, no flowers, no land to dwell upon, no human life, no life at all, just darkness upon the face of the deep.  It sounds as though it was just one big ball of water, because God calls it the deep.  Just imagine a place of complete darkness with no life. Out of silence rings forth a booming voice of power.   "Let there be light!"
Without light nothing can live, nothing can grow.  Light is vital for a living world.  When God said, "Let there be light!", there was light.  God spoke and it existed that moment.  God, soon after, separated the waters from the dry land.  All could be seen, for the light shined in the darkness.  A desert place without life, only dry ground.  God spoke at once all greenery, trees and flowering plants spread across the dry land.  Making the most beautiful place, a place never seen by human eyes until the forming of Adam from the dust of the ground.  He awoke to the most striking view of beauty ever known to the human eye, a fresh new world full of light and life full of amazing things of all kinds to discover.

Throughout scripture we are given stories and examples of how God deals in the heart of man.  The creation of the world is another way to describe the condition of a person's heart towards God without Him.  The earth would have never known light had God not said let there be light.  The earth would not ever had known life had God not spoke it into existence.
God could of just said, there is no way this earth could ever be anything special.  He could have said " why bother,  this place is worthless," but he didn't.  He worked countless numbers of miracles upon one dead lifeless form.

God mentions light and life throughout scripture especially in talking about the heart of man.  It tells us that Jesus is the light and the life.  As light brings life to the earth,  Jesus is the light that brings life to the heart.  The bible teaches us that without Christ we are dead while we live and we walk in darkness.  Our heart is compared to a desert land that has no life and needs salvation.  That's why we say people without Christ need saved.

Adam and Eves disobedience, eating of the forbidden fruit , brought death upon the whole human race.  The biblical account of Adam and Eve is a perfect example why it is important to obey God.  God blesses those that obey Him.  We miss out on blessings and instead have to eat the fruit of our sins, when we disobey Him.  Adam and Eve had to leave the that garden God had made them and would know a life that included suffering and death.  There are consequences for our rebellion towards God.  Their sin didn't just hurt themselves but their children and all of mankind.

God warned Adam and Eve ahead of time what would happen, but they chose to believe a lie rather that the Word of God.  This happens today by false teachers teaching false teachings that confuse people into believing a lie, rather than God's Holy Word.  People who do not believe God and the true teaching of Christ, are in darkness are dead while they live.

The bible tells us that Jesus is the light of the world.  In John Chapter one talks about Jesus being light.  The chapter starts out in the same words as Genesis 1: 1 " In The Beginning was".   John 1:1 speaks about the Light , Jesus that shine in the hearts of men.  God's desire is that all people come to repentance and faith in what Christ did at the cross.  He paid the price for you and me.  When we believe and trust Him as our personal Saviour.  Then is when the light of God arises in our heart and we become alive to God,  just as the earth was brought to life at God's speaking.

Jesus and what He did at Calvary made it possible for people to be saved from the punishment of hell eternal.  Upon belief and the receiving Christ.  The blood He shed then becomes a permanent covering for our sins.  God leaves that decision up to you.

Father God, If there is anyone here today that would like to know Christ as their Saviour, I pray they will desire to know you and trust you as their own personal Saviour and friend.  I pray they will understand the teaching of John 1:1.  I pray they will come alive to you in the name of Christ and His precious shed blood.   The Word of God is the power of God unto Salvation.  Believe His Word, He loves you and wants you to became saved today.

Genesis 1:1 - The creation of the earth
John 1:1
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
 The same was in the beginning with God.
All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
In him was life; and the life was the light of men.
And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not. {comprehended: or, did not admit, or, receive}
There was a man sent from God, whose name was John.
The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe.
He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light.
That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.
He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.
He came unto his own, and his own received him not.

But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
